I have wanted to try this place since it opened. I do not know what took me so long... I even live in the Neighbourhood! I love the ambience. The food is divine! The music was just right. It was nice, soft music, not loud and overpowering. Could still have a conversation . The waitstaff- very attentive - definitely going back!! Perfect Saturday lunch~ did not have a cocktail, but the food is top notch. This was our first time here and we will be back!! To start, we got the crabmeat gnocchi which was very creamy and had a good amount of crabmeat it in. For our entrees, we got the chicken piccata, which we were told was just added to the menu, and the burger!! Both were excellent!! The chicken was paired nicely with a Brie orzo and lemon butter sauce. The burger had Brie cheese as well and was paired with a smoky ketchup. Get the truffle fries also!! For dessert we got the Apertif press!! We got it stuffed with homemade vanilla gelato. It was delicious!! The donut was warm with a cold gelato in the middle!! We will be back to try their cocktails and more!! Our waitress was great and super knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. Of course, who wouldn't love the location - on the Lakefront in Mandeville! Great interior. Excellent food choices. It was actually hard to decide what to order because they offered so many yummy choices. I settled on the duck. My friends had the soft shell crab and appetizers. We were all very happy. The portions were very large and well prepared. Amazing service. Another great new restaurant in Mandeville. No longer a need to cross the bridge or go into Covington for great food! read more

Wow this place has it all! It has the location and beachy like atmosphere with great views of the lake! It has incredible service, sort of fancy like. And it had great food and drinks! Bravo! We came here just for apps and drinks as we hopping from place to place on the Northshore. We did not have a reservation and we were there early enough that it was not crowded just yet, there was no one sitting outside where it overlooks the lake, but it was a bit hot so we sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us with a friendly smile. We ordered the flatbread app and martini espresso. The flatbread was not an ordinary flatbread dish, like I was expecting. The flavors all magically came together and this dish was really elevated. There was a BBQ sauce that was not your typical BBQ sauce, it was light, had a sweetness to it, and barely a drizzle on the fresh ingredients. The jalapeno lime crema also marinated the flavors of the pork and Tasso together, making each bite so satisfying. Even the bread was not tough or chewy; it had a nice soft texture and perfect way to serve all those ingredients together. This place was one of our favorites for our stay on the Northshore. We had a great time on our girls night! We loved the cocktail menu; they had something for everyone. Also, the arancini appetizer was amazing, and the mahi mahi was absolutely delicious. The food was also presented beautifully. We ended the meal with the creme brûlée and chocolate torte... some of the best desserts we've had on the Northshore. The only criticism is that it took a while to put in our initial drink order, but we also arrived at a very busy time. Our server was very nice. We will definitely be back, and we are planning to make it a triple date night with our husbands. read more

I have dined here in the past and have never been disappointed. The vibe is a relaxed yet sophisticated on the beautiful lakefront. The bar and servers are first rate. I had the beef Wellington which was delicious. I look forward to soft shell crab season as they had been exceptional. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked nicely presented and appetizing. It was nice that the personable chef came to the tables in our area to briefly chat. read more

This is bar-none the best food in Mandeville. My wife and I visited this evening and were told it was a 45 min wait. We were enjoying sitting outside on the patio looking at the lake for a couple of minutes and the (I'm assuming) owner came out. We told him we couldn't get a table and he said - hold on, no problem and we were immediately seated. That said, the dinner was excellent. I had the Praline Crusted Salmon .. wow, it was the best I've ever eaten! Superb! My wife had the Softshell Pontchartrain - excellent also. Dessert was the bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I have a new favorite restaurant!! read more

We had a wonderful lunch today at Apertif. Between the corn-breaded oysters as an appetizer and the soft-shell crab sliders, we were completely delighted. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home. As we were leaving the restaurant to sit on the lovely veranda overlooking Lake Ponchatrain, Hollis surprised us with Bailey's birthday shots. Also, the shrimp that came with that mail or not flavorful and the texture was off. We eat out a lot and enjoyed the place, but you need to work on that one meal. Great decor and view of the lakefront. Very interesting menu. We ordered 5 different dishes and would give 4 of them a 5. Loved the drink menu and the staff were attentive. Only complaint is the acoustics. When the restaurant filled up, it got very loud and distracting. Definitely would return - prices are higher so plan for that. read more

Spouse and I went early (5:00 PM) on a Thursday for 33 anniversary. Food: really good, had the praline salmon. Expected more for the price. Service: wonderful, Maria. Ambiance: not overpowering, clean, trendy, lots of youngish ladies by happy hour. The "Lakehouse" affiliation is confusing. Same owner, new location. This newly remodeled structure is at corner of Lakeshore and Girod (next to Donz, a one time Confederate hospital). Bathroom sinks: I wish I had that idea before our granite remodel.
