Already a tenant, in April 2015 I was told that my lease would expire in June and if I needed to move from my current apartment I would need to renew my lease and pay additional fees to proceed. I paid my moving and application fees and was awaiting to be assigned an apartment which did not happen upon the expiring of my lease. I was then assigned an apartment in August, which I knew nothing about, and was not discussed with, in addition to being unable to obtain the keys for viewing. I was forced to move on September 10th, even though I would be able to obtain help on a different weekend. Even though this was the day they selected as my move in day the keys were still not given to me and I informed the office that I would like the keys ahead of time due to the fact that the moving company I hired would be charging me by the hour. I made two trips to the office on the morning of the 10th in an effort to obtain the keys with no avail, as Katie, the property manager, informed me that the keys were still not ready on the morning of my move. I honestly believe that she was hiding something from me in the apartment and as such I was not given the key on time. To my surprise, the guys from the moving company, after receiving the keys fifteen minutes before my move started, they discovered that one of my couches were unable to fit into the elevator. They in turn had to take five flights of stairs and charged me an additional fifty dollars in order to do so. After this charade, it was belatedly revealed that the couch could not fit into the apartment due to its awkward corner location. As such the couch was left in the hallway and left space allowing other tenants to walk by. However, Katie, after screwing up, informed me that it could not remain in the hallway. Without a successful attempt to contact me of her intent to dispose of my couch she eventually had my couch thrown into the garbage, and had fun doing so. After a visit to the office that morning inquiring about my couch I was told "It's in the dumpster", without any remorse. This business is a total disgrace and the employees, specifically the under qualified, malevolent, and obtuse property manager Katie, are unrelenting to tenants who are taking care of the apartments and paying their rent on time. Never in my years of living in various apartments have I been treated so vile. I tried speaking with the regional director about my issue to which it was constantly blown off, even when I had a chance to speak with corporate representatives, I was disregarded. These happenings and their improper dealing with, incline me to believe that, despite being a "good tenant" that I would still fall victim to racism. The office wouldn't listen to my story verbally, but I know that my words in this review will speak even louder. read more
