As others have mentioned, the adoption fee is significantly more than most rescues. Yet they are not thorough on the descriptions of the pups and their medical history. We adopted a dog that very clearly has retained deciduous canines which a vet has told me should have been extracted pre-adoption and at the least been noted in his medical history. As a result we will be spending $1000-2000 in dental surgery just mere weeks after adoption. While we have fallen in love with the pup and decided to keep him, we truthfully would not have adopted him if we knew the vet and rescue left him requiring 1000s in dental exam and surgery. It is the rescues obligation to be thorough and upfront about the animal's medical history. The partner vet refused to speak to me about our dog's chart. We requested a refund of the adoption fee to help offset surgery costs and they refused. What's the point in paying $600-700 in adoption fee if they are not going to treat the dog properly?! They seem only interested in making money hence the high fee and poor communication. If they actually cared they would refund us as this is a huge mistake on their part. As others have also said they are not upfront about behavioral issues either it seems yet they are so intrusive in the adoption application. I strongly recommend rescuing at a more credible rescue that has better communication and actual interest in the dogs' future and health... really disappointed. On another note, the foster was met was very kind and seemed to care about the dog we adopted. read more

I'm not sure what has happened in the past & somewhat skeptical of the 1-star reviews. Regardless, I must say I was extremely impressed with the extensive process they undertake to ensure the safety of their rescues and to match them with suitable homes. Their responsiveness was also commendable. It's important to remember that this isn't an instant purchase platform, so a bit of patience is required. I received prompt updates either by the end of the day or first thing in the morning. I absolutely adore our rescue, and the so-called "high" fees mentioned by others seem unreasonable to me. Those funds are crucial for the rescue's ongoing efforts and help cover veterinary expenses. My rescue was spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated--all for a fraction of what I would have spent on my own. Plus, her foster mom was exceptional! She truly cared for our dog and was readily available to answer any questions I had during the first couple of days after bringing her home. If I could give them zero stars I would. I'm going to start by saying that the people working the counters are rude and only care about making money. This place is not for the dogs. Me and my husband have rescued 4 dogs before coming here and never have experienced a place like this. Totally understandable that there should be an application but 24-72 hours before even hearing back? These dogs need homes! What sense does it make to bring dogs from a high kill shelter if they don't have their best interest in heart. Went down the road to "All Aboard Animal Rescue". What a difference. The staff was excellent and all the people working there have been fostering these dogs. No dogs in kennels. Dogs were in people's laps. We filled out an application and was able to take our new dog home today. Not sent back to some inhumane dog kennel with no love. Stay away from this place. read more

I have an incredibly happy pet, Winston, and they denied me because I wouldn't let them call my realty company and my employer! Sorry that's too much. This is for an adoption that has the whopping fee of $500!! They will drive people away. Also, completely impersonal. No one spoke to me on the phone or anything. Do not like this place. I just had the most wonderful experience adopting from Bounce! They are an amazing company that's really in it for the best care possible of the animals they adopt out. While the application was very detailed and included a lot of specific info, I found out Bounce does it to make absolutely certain that a pet is going to the right home. They don't want to adopt out an animal that may have some high vet bills, and the owner not be able to pay it, so I completely understand why they ask about income and everything! I will say that the adoption price was high, but the money from the adoption fees goes to the care of the animals: feeding, surgeries, medications, etc. I couldn't have been happier with the whole process and I'm so thankful for all of their help! Bounce contacted my apartment complex on the 29th. Super excited, I sent an email asking for correspondence as I hadn't heard from them. I received no response. I called and texted over the 30th and 1st, to no response. Finally receive a text on the 2nd telling me the dog was already adopted! incredibly frustrating that they would have a complete lack of correspondence with me. I don't know what happened in the past, but Bounce is ABSOLUTELY on the ball. My inquiry was responded to the same night. I can't tell you how frustrated I was with other rescue organizations... I waited and waited for response to even see if the dog was available. Also, dogs were available, and other places would contact my references and only after, did I find out they already adopted the dog. :( I was heartbroken! I found Bounce and found a doggie I was so in love with. I tried to not get my hopes up. BUT...I heard back right away he was still available. They even let me put him on hold to come visit with him for an hour before anyone else. How cool is that? That way, I don't waste my time driving to see...the store only. LOL. I received a professional portfolio of my dog's health checkups and met with his foster mom, who was awesome and told me everything about my dog. I was sold. He is AMAZING and I have no regrets. I was surprised to see negative reviews about Bounce since my experience was wonderful. My application was reviewed and accepted within a few days. I was able to put a hold on the dog I was interested in. The person fostering the dog provided a lot of information and once we met I adopted. I was so impressed with the amount of care this dog had been given - surgeries, neutering, treatment of heart worm, etc. The $500 fee was nothing compared to the costs of the care and treatment this little guy received. He was just as described and a wonderful pet. Bounce responded quickly to all my emails and the foster home also took a lot of time to discuss the dog and meet with me. I think it is wonderful that they are careful to make sure the homes they are going to have fenced yards and that dogs are allowed. Obviously these dogs were once abandoned or strays otherwise they would not have ended up in a shelter in the first place and Bounce is just trying to make sure the forever home is really forever! read more

I had a very unfortunate exchange of email with their executive director Annalise. Apparently she did not understand that my income of 20$ a year was a typo and that making 20 grand a year does not fall under their income requirements, (which was never stated anywhere on the website or application). When I mentioned that my fiance makes over 40 grand a year she said because we aren't legally married we can't combine incomes and was really persistent that I should not adopt from them. Good luck getting anyone to adopt with their crazy standards! Homeless people have dogs that are well fed and cared for but making 20 grand a year isn't good enough??? What are they going to do a background check too? How would they even confirm an income anyway? Shady rescue it seems from other reviews, go elsewhere!!! read more

We found a dog we like and asked to see it on a tuesday and got an email from someone named ashley saying it was going to be 250.00 On friday we got an email from Ashley saying the adoption fee was going to be 350.00. While I don't want to knock any organization that is in the business of re-homing canines and felines, I do feel the need to express my concern as a professional within the veterinary community. My initial concern is the lack of communication and documentation about adopted animals. Vaccination records, if not provided by the pet owner, are impossible to obtain. In an area where Rabies, Parvo and Lepto are known active agents, and for a clinic to not be able to get those records for review/conformation is poor business practice. As troublesome as the lack of records communication is, what worse, and what has generated this review, is the allowed adoption of a canine puppy sick with Parvo. Even as the records from the agency show an initial vaccination, it is unconscionable that this organization send a sick animal into a new home. Not only did this decision risk the new family's existing pets, and those exposed during the adoption fair, but created an unnecessary financial burden for the new owners. It makes me wonder how many newly adopted puppies are in homes that are going to become ill from this oversight? Parvo is an awful disease. Those of us who have seen its impacts can attest to this fact. We all understand that disease happens, that's what makes it so imperative that vaccines be taken seriously. We also recognize that animals are adept at hiding their discomfort, so symptoms may not have manifest, or may simply been dismissed as normal puppy behavior. However, It behooves any rescue/adoption facility to properly handle, treat, and monitor its patients, and to neglect this basic fact, and release a contagious canine is unforgivable. Bottom line is this: Bounce, please get your communications in order, and for the love of cake, do not pet ill puppies out to the general population! read more

I fostered for Bounce, they say that they have the best interest of dogs in mind but it's a lie. I had a foster dog and I reached out to them regarding what I had observed with her and what I thought may be best for her. I then took her to An adoption event. I messaged them beforehand and stated my concerns for our foster dog. These concerns included her being scared and not wanting to be kept in a kennel. When we arrived, our foster dog was shaking incessantly, she was terrified. I was immediately told. There's her kennel, put her in it. When I tried to comfort my foster I was told that once the event started I needed to put her in the kennel so people would know that she was there. I proceeded to put her on the kennel and leave. I then messaged the owner Annalise to voice my concerns and was then greeted with an attack email stating that I was hostile and caused a scene. None of these things happened. I was simply trying to comfort my foster dog. I was at the adoption event a total of two minutes. She stated that I tried to sabotage my fosters adoption because I had "missed numerous adoption events, and missed a vet appointment. When I explained to her the incorrectness of this information she continued to deflect and try to blame me. Bounce claims to have the best interest of dogs at heart but they do not! This is an amazing rescue! I LOVE BOUNCE! You apply for a dog online and then pending application approval you can place a dog on hold! I ended up loving them so much that now I am volunteering also! They host adoption events every Saturday @ Pet Supplies Plus in Fort Collins! One of my favorite things about the rescue is how well vetted and cared for all of the dogs are ! As soon as the pups hit Bounce they are spoiled and pampered until they land in their forever home! The foster families that Bounce has are exceptional. I adopted a dog from Bounce Animal Rescue a year ago. It was difficult to get to know the dogs because they have no facility. You must go to a foster family to meet the dog. In advance, I was not told that the dog had recently given birth, nor that they had removed a "bump" from the top of her head. I decided to move forward despite feeling a little duped. Six days home, I noticed another bump on her stomach. I immediately called them and they told me that if it were an issue, the doctor would have removed it like they did with the one on her head. In fact, they joked that it was probably an extra nipple. A year later, I just found out that the bump was actually a mass cell tumor and it has now spread to two additional places. When I called the shelter, they told me it was my fault because I didn't call it to my vet's attention (unfortunately I trusted Bounce's diagnosis). They insisted that my dog did not have cancer when I adopted her even though I sent them a picture of the lump within a week of bringing her home. These people are unconscienable. It will cost me $4,000 to have these cancerous lumps removed from my dog and Bounce is taking no accountability - in fact, they are blaming me. Shame on you. I reccomend you never adopt a animal from this shelter read more

Sent in application and was approved. It stated in our app that we could not have a fence in our community but that dogs are always on leads and with homeowner. Told them which pup we were interested in, they told us to please come meet them. Hubby went to adoption event and was THEN informed that this 8 week old puppy had to have a 5-6 foot fence because it might jump and he should have read the bio. None of this was on the bio for the pup we wanted or ANY of his litter mates. When he got upset and told them it was not right (in military language-salty) they tossed him out. We sent an email with pics of bio that didn't show fence requirements and asked for an explanation as this seemed shady at least and discrimination at worst. Their response was to pull our application and ban us from adopting from them forever. As if we'd planned on going back. Something is really crooked here. We saw one of Bounce Animal Rescue's dogs that needed a home online, submitted an application on their website (http://www.bounceanimalrescue.org), received approval soon after and then placed a hold with confirmation on a pet via email. I applied for adoption last Wednesday 02-28-2018 and have still not heard if my husband and I have been approved or denied for adoption. I received an email five days after applying saying the puppy that we were trying to adopt was no longer available but if we wanted to continue the application process for future puppies we could. I emailed back saying that there was another little puppy we were interested in and to continue with the application process. I have not heard anything since. That is a total of seven days to just hear if we are even approved or denied for adoption. I understand there are process that they have to go through in order to make sure they are adopting the animals into a good home, but seven days is just lazy and not a good practice to keep. i had a similar negative experience with bounce. i am retired, and recently lost my 18 yr old adopted dachshund who i cared for as lovingly as i would my own child. as someone who retired early, with resources invested, i am not yet drawing my monthly retirement income. as a result, i was deemed unfit to provide a loving, highly attentive home for a homeless dachshund. what a shame this agency has such tunnel-vision! read more

I'm not really sure how these people can sit there and say they have the interest of the animals at heart. First of all they refuse to answer phone calls emails text messages or return voicemails. Seems really professional right? Then I notice that they raise the price of the dogs depending on how many people are interested, again; they definitely have the Best interest of the dogs at heart, right? No... they bid these animals off to the highest bidder and they only return about 1% of the inquiries they get. So these dogs are sitting in this shelter waiting for homes with loving owners however, they will never get there because these people refuse to act in a professional manner and do their part to find homes for all of these animals. Non profit? HA! All these people see are $$$$ signs and these poor dogs have to deal with the consequences of such selfish acts. read more

Ahh... it Feels good to rescue.... save a little helpless puppy that was most likely born in some skanky puppy mill or some Indian reservation...put some money in someone CEO's pocket (I expect comments to defend that "we are a non profit organization" uh OK) while you shell out a fraction of the cost when you compare to a certified pure bread. Oh what a feeling... In return you get an questionable mix (at least they tell you what you think you're getting) drop $350 after you sign paperwork to "certify" good health, now smile for that photo; what a happy lil family and off you go. Kids love him, mommy is happy, life is good. 12 hours later, the first poop on the floor.... aww, how cute. I mean he's a puppy, they do that right? 24 hours later; why is he sleeping so much? It's gotta be from the plane ride from OK to CO and stress he was under (growing feeling that you truly saved this little guy). Fast forward 48hrs and your cute little puppy is blasting diarrhea all over the place, "coughing" trying to rid this sickness that didn't escape in the form of liquid poop! This puppy is obviously possessed and trying to rid some demon...... Get the kids home from school, Daddy has to cut out of work early and there goes Mommy, off to the vet. Just like that, two hours later and BAM, you're looking at a $1000.00 bill. They hold him over night, no real answers. res·cue reskyoo/ verb 1. save (someone) from a dangerous or distressing situation. The feedback from the vet is that "we see this all the time with rescues" I put my trust into "Bounce" who is believed to be a reputable organization. Well, you cashed me in but I'm afraid you're check "bounced" with me. You give zero F**ks about the animals you are selling/I mean "rescuing". Did you ever see Goodfellas, you know the part "place gets hit by lightening" you know the rest.... I guess I have to add my two cents. I have been trying to adopt one of their dogs for over two weeks. First it took two weeks to answer my first email query. After initial contact they have responded in a very timely manner. They have a dog my wife and I are very interested in but without meeting the dog we are not willing to commit. We need to meet and make sure be are both compatible. Here is the rub. We live in Monument, they are in Fort Collins. They have pet store meetings every couple of weeks, late morning to early afternoon (3 hours). A two and a half hour drive up I25 on Saturday is a killer. We asked if we could meet the dog elsewhere during the week or some other time. First, no guarantees without an approved adoption form. I am not a computer wiz and could not upload my tax statement to prove home ownership so could not forward their application. I said I would bring a hard copy of the nearly completed application and my tax statement with me if they could guarantee they would have the dog. No was the answer. I could come to their Pet Store showing and fill out the application and provide proof of home ownership but they would not guarantee the dog would be there and they could not show us the dog at any other time. I again asked for a little consideration and was told basically that that is the way it is. After 28 years as an officer in the US Navy, 15 years on the Board of Directors on the local fire board, member of the VFW and American Legion and having owned my home in Monument for 19 years, I feel I am fairly responsible and don't feel that asking for a guarantee that their dog will be available to me if I drive two and a half hours to visit is asking too much. read more
