We booked a birthday party package at Boundary Waters Aquatic Center to celebrate my son's 6th birthday. The party room accommodates up to 55 people and seats about 30. They provide the chairs and rectangle tables. You must pay in full in advance and you are either able to choose a Friday party from 5:30 - 8 or Saturday from 2:30 - 5 PM. We opted for Saturday because we figure that most people would be able to come. It is important that your guests arrive on time, because there is a designated swim time and party room time. Some of our guests were late and ended up not being able to swim. Overall, it was a great experience and we enjoyed. My son really enjoyed himself. The staff was friendly and hospitable. We also took advantage of the summer swimming lessons (including free swim week) and my son has really made great progress. I highly recommend it if you are in the area. read more

Affordable, especially for county residents. Clean facility. Somewhat limited options for kids (they can't use the pool's noodles or kickboards). Fairly long open swim hours. On Saturdays, open swim hours start at 12:30 pm (rather than 11 am) if there is a birthday party. Call for hours. read more

I love this place! It has every thing in one location. Ball Parks, Hiking trails, Equestrian trails, an Aquatic Center, a Gym to work out at. It's like a Super YMCA! But this place is always clean and the staff here is polite and helpful. Plenty of families are out here all the time. I have been several times but never took out the time to add this place to Yelp. I have never been inside of this place, but I have been on the trails many times. There is a paved trail wide enough about the size of a one way road. There are many trails through the woods, a pond, trails by the river, wildlife, etc. read more

This place has great walking trails. There is a cross country trail, as well as a wide paced trail that you can push a stroller on or ride a bike down. Equestrian trails are also available. There is a pretty lake with benches for resting. They also have a frisbee golf course (I guess that's what you call it??) that is spread out over the property. They have about 4 baseball fields and a pretty nice playground too. There is no fee to park which is nice. I have only been inside the main building with the pool once, and that was just to use the rest room so I cannot speak to what it's like in there. read more

The family & I walked the track trials behind the aquatic center today. In the past we have ridden our bikes on this wonderful trail. We had a nice nature outing as we saw plenty of deer and people walking and bike riding. There's even a spot to fish on lake. The trail is called The Chattahoochee Hill Country Regional Greenway Trail. Also there are some marked unpaved trails that will take you through the woods. read more

The walking trail is great. The parking is great. The ducks are very friendly around the pond. The only down side i think of is the xl large ant population that lives there, they are pretty much all over the trail. The foliage is great on sunny days to keep you of the sun you are moving along must of the walking path. read more

I like the idea and the cost of admission to Boundary Waters swimming facility, but I think they have way too much going on at once. Swim Team - make that swim teams. There are two, and they take up 6 lanes of the Olympic sized lap pool. I believe there are 8 lanes total, maybe 9, but the first three and the last three are always taken after 4pm-7pm, often until close. Why do the people on the swim team, who can clearly swim better than most pool patrons, get exclusive use of the sides? Those learning to swim in the 7 foot deep water need the edges! And lord help you if you try to use an edge, because that's the only time the lifeguards do anything. They'll chase you out and say it's all reserved already, even if the team has walked away and stopped using the pool altogether! Swim Classes - I like that they offer swim classes for little kids, I think that's a good thing. However, you then get half the year where the smaller pool, the one you can actually stand up in, loses 50% of it's area because of the swim classes. Water Classes for Adults - Water aerobics is popular there, because I've yet to come during a time, mornings, afternoons, or evenings, where there weren't back-to-back classes. They also meet in the shallow pool, and the instructors tell you to get out of their way. Well, that's so sweet for a public facility! Combine those water aerobics taking up half the pool (or all of it, depending on the instructor) with the kid swim classes taking up the other half, the swim team in the Olympic pool, and the Special Olympics training in there too on occasion, and now you've paid to have no space in the pool! Drop Offs - there are a lot of parents that drop their kids at the door and seem to drive off. No supervision for most kids in the pool, and the lifeguards seem to have no rules to enforce about behavior. So, if you do find a space to squeeze into after 4pm, you are likely going to regret it, or have some unsupervised brat jump on your head or try to pull you under. This is a very nice facility, but they need to put a big stop on the number of groups they allow to take it over at one time. It ridiculous! So if you aren't in a class or on a team, don't expect to actually get to swim. And come early, the earlier the better. So if you're a single person who can come early and doesn't have children in school that want to swim, this may be the place for you. read more

I started going here with a friend to checkout the water aerobics classes and fell in love with the place. The hour-long classes are on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6-7pm and is limited to first 30 people to sign up. The class costs $4 a pop and it's worth every penny. It's hit or miss as to how many people show up on any given day but the instructor, Dana will make you feel the burn, regardless (in a good way). The pool is HUGE and has a lot of things going on from lessons, lap-swimming, training, aerobics to people just having fun and hanging out. There are little kiddies to older people, every shape, size and experience level, so don't let that hold you back from visiting this place. There's plenty of free parking and some trails that I haven't checked out but will later. The lifeguards are cool and watchful and good with kids so that helps to keep the mega-pool business in order. I'm a fan and if I keep this up, I will be a fitter and thinner one by the time I hit South Beach in Florida this July! BRING IT!!!!! read more
