We have been here many times before and have usually enjoyed our experiences, which made our visit on Thursday, September 3rd at 5:15 p.m. even more surprising. We were seated in the sushi area and waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to greet us. When our server finally arrived, she brought three bowls of soup to the table even though we had not ordered drinks or food yet. She then disappeared for another 15 minutes. When she returned, she asked if we were ready to order, but still had not taken our drink order, so we gave her our entire food and drink order at once. We ordered sake, waters, and iced tea. The iced tea came fairly quickly, but the sake and waters never arrived. Eventually, I had to stop another employee walking by and ask where our server was and explain that we were still waiting on our drinks. Thankfully, she immediately brought them over. Two people in our party ordered sushi and two ordered hibachi. The sushi chef brought the sushi out, but the hibachi meals did not arrive until approximately 40 minutes later. This meant half of our party had their meals while the other half sat waiting. Unfortunately, the service wasn't the only issue. Our table was sticky, the floors were dirty and sticky, and the overall cleanliness was disappointing. The food itself was also nowhere near the quality we remembered from previous visits. Throughout the meal, no one checked on us, refilled our drinks, or asked if we needed anything. Then, when we were ready to leave, it took forever just to get our check. What a total disaster for a birthday dinner. It honestly makes me sad to write this because we used to really enjoy this restaurant and have had good experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, after this visit, we will be looking for another Japanese restaurant going forward.
