What made me choose Legends? 4.9 stars on Google with over 1500 reviews. When I pulled into the parking lot I did laugh that it was not glamorous- it looked like a location for a sports bar! Instead, you found a family friendly, casual atmosphere with phenomenal food. The cut their own beef, they pick the best ingredients. The owner was working tonight and just running a tight ship. You can always tell when a business is a team, when the employees are happy. And that natural trickle down feeds the consumer. So, I was dining solo and sat at the bar. I had a lovely chat with a man next to me. Jen was my server/bartender and on top of everything! Lovely young woman for sure. And Jeff took the time to talk to us about how they are different. I really appreciated that his restaurant is approachable. I'm not even sure if that's the right word- it is fine dining food, without the financial or social glam required at other establishments. I mean- family friendly is literal. He has built a business to cater to everyone, anyone. Food- I was so impressed by everything. I ordered the filet and my sides were mac-n-cheese and mushrooms. OH MYYYYYY- Steak cooked medium rare and perfect juicy, flavorful. The mushrooms simply stunned me- I had to ask why there was a sweet taste... teriyaki sauce! I knew I tasted something sweet- it made them so extra and I already love mushrooms. The mac- it looked dry on top, it was just the baked cheese layer, under was the perfect gooey, creamy cheese your soul craves. OH- and btw, the sides were huge! I felt like I could have shared with several people. Wow wow. So much food. Reasonable prices. I had a Filet dinner, 2 amazing sides and a cocktail- $50. For that caliber of food, that is very reasonable. Tomorrow is prime rib night and I sooooooooo want to go back again! This is a great steakhouse! We were dropping my sister off at Newberry College and found this spot for dinner! The staff were so friendly and welcoming! The restaurant itself was very spacious between tables and such a nice dine in vibe. The food was great! This is a popular local steakhouse and I can tell why. Service and food was great. We had Valentines dinner here and went with their special which was one appetizer, two ribeyes with two sides and dessert to share. Overall great deal and we ended up taking home leftovers. Started with the fried green tomatoes they were fried perfectly and seasoned well the sauce and pimento cheese complimented it well. For entree we both got the loaded potatoes and roasted corn for sides. The ribeye was one of the juiciest ribeye I've ever had cooked to requested temp. You can tell they have quality cuts of meat here. The potatoes and corn were both delicious as well. For dessert we shared a strawberry and cream cake. It was moist and not overly sweet. Went on a Tuesday evening. First time going there. No wait. Asked for a vodka-grapefruit and waiter said he'd have to check to see if they had grapefruit. Owner/manager said give me a minute and ran next door to grocery for more grapefruit juice. Big plus in my book. Had steaks. They were very good and cooked great. Jeff is doing an incredible job attending to guests at Legends Steakhouse and the food it of excellent quality.

There were 4 of us and we each got a different entree. All of them were very good from the Hawaiian chicken to the filet. Only disappointing item was the shrimp cocktail which was $13 for smaller shrimp that had some type of Cajun seasoning but was served with cocktail sauce. Just plain bad and overpriced but tried to not let that ruin the evening. Bare bones interior but great service and an appreciative owner. read more

I was driving north on 26 and needed something to eat. I stopped into one place, but it wasn't what I was looking for so I looked online and was lucky enough to find Legends Steakhouse. It was a great experience from the time I walked in the door until I was back on my way on the highway. The owner was more than welcoming when I walked in, and he was the one who brought me my menu and told me the specials. I overheard him complimenting the server, and he was telling her that he was proud of her effort the other day. I thought that it spoke very highly of an establishment that he was taking the time to compliment his employees in such a manner. Both of them were extremely attentive to me and the other party that was dining. I overheard him take a reservation, and he treated her like she was family. It seemed, and felt, like an awesome place and it was all due to the owner and his staff. My steak was fantastic and it rivaled the Metropolitan Grill in Seattle. The char on my asparagus was perfect and the rice brought it all together. I could go on about how great this place was all day long, but I will wrap it up with this: the name of the place is legends and the wall art is absolutely worth checking out. They were all great, but the one that stuck out to me the most was Mr. Muhammed Ali standing triumphantly over Sonny Liston in the first round. The art made the ambiance perfect. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. If you ever are in the area, you will have a wonderful experience dining there. We were in town for the spartan races, and this place was JAMMING. It's sometimes hard to find good food in our small town explorations but this place was delicious. Despite them being super super busy, service was great and friendly, and the food all came out hot. Long travel day... stopped in because we didn't want fast food for dinner. Honestly had no great expectations.., but... our dinner was fabulous. Seriously.. my blackened salmon was delicious. He picks LEGENDS STEAKHOUSE of NEWBERRY, SC. We started with the Pimento cheese dip with bread. FANTASTIC. So good, we had to order a second. Then I ordered the 8 ounce filet, medium well. It literally melted in my mouth. And let's not forget the service.... Kelly not only took the time to introduce herself, she was SINCERELY interested in who we were, and why we were there. After a family funeral we were looking for a great steak and a relaxed atmosphere. Boy did we find it at Legends Steak House in Newberry, SC. Not to be confused with a chain of a similar name in TN. My wife and I scoped it out earlier in the day to check the dress code and make a reservation. Relaxed and comfortable. Perfect. We had the opportunity to visit Legends restaurant yesterday after my Brother in-law mentioned he had read some recent reviews he had rain across on google! We arrived around 2pm and the lunch crowd was coming to an end so we had almost the hole restaurant to ourselves! It had a very nice atmosphere and we received great service! This was our first time there so we had to take our time reading over the menu! They had a great selection of stakes, seafood, sandwiches and short order items! My sister and Brother in-law had a cheeseburger with steak fries . My wife and I had the ribeye philly steak sandwiches. My wife had the steak fries and I had the cajun coleslaw! I can truthfully say I've never had a Philly sandwich before that was this good and the cold slaw was amazing! When I saw the burgers that my family had ordered, I thought to myself I was going to have to return on another trip to try them out! My Brother in-law said it was the best burger he had ever had! My sister never finished her sandwiches but she cleaned her plate without saying a word! My brother in-law usually helps her finish off her meal just sat there looking disappointed that she had nothing left over for him! The restaurant was especially clean and the food was delicious! I usually go to the restrooms too check for cleanliness because I believe you can judge the cleanliness of the kitchen by the cleanliness of the restrooms! I don't know why I haven't heard much more about this place considering how nice this place was and how great the food was! The only thing I could think of was that it's hard to see from the street! It's located on the end of a lot of businesses and it's the furthest on the right without a clear view from not only the road but also from the parking lot! It's on the right side of Food-lion grocery store! It's lacking in signage as far as I'm concerned because if we were not looking for it, we would have missed it! I asked the owner why he didn't have a sign on the highway that would make it easier to find! He said he relied on the word of mouth for his advertisement and people getting the word out about his business and great food ! They are a great restaurant in a college town so they have karaoke nights on Friday and Saturday nights, so we're going to have to go back for the opportunity to check this out!
