Tony and I stopped in Greenwiod SC at Fat Daddy's BBQ. It was not hard to find with GPS! We wanted BBQ and googled it!! First choice BBQ Shack was closed and this was our 2nd choice! Tony wasn't happy with no beer options but he got a Southern Sweet Tea which was too sweet for me so I did a half n half I ordered Fried Green Tomatoes on special for $3 *it arrived with 6 plus Alabama White BBQ sauce for dipping! Tony ordered 6 Ribs w sides of Baked Beans and Mac n Cheese! I took a bite of each!! They were delicious and homemade but I'm dieting. We were looking forward to eating here after reading reviews....it was ok. They were out of hush puppies at 5pm which was disappointing because I had read that they were amazing. We had the tater special. It's a baked potato with sour cream and butter with your choice of brisket, chicken, or pulled pork. It was ok. The potato seemed like it may have been sitting around for a while and there wasn't nearly as much on it as I thought it would be. There's two different sauces available. I tried the sweet barbecue which reminded me of sweet baby rays honestly. I was hoping the peach cobbler would be a redeeming hit but sadly it wasn't great either. Maybe we were there on an off day. Omg the food here... so good! Fat Daddy's BBQ has delicious food, great service, and a laid back atmosphere. There's plenty of indoor seating including a mix of booth and table seating. Start by ordering at the counter, then they'll give you a number and bring your food to your table once ready. I got the special, a fried green tomato burger with pimento cheese on it ($8), with a side of Mac n cheese (~$2.75), with a sweet tea. It came out in about 10 minutes and was absolutely delicious! My 1st time here at Fat Daddy's BBQ did not disappoint!! Wide selection of BBQ plates, sandwiches, starters, sides. I went against the grain and ordered double cheese burger all the way! My side I thought about it and Hush Puppies just sounded good today! The cheese burger was excellent, cooked properly through and through but the patties were still moist. This burger is definitely one of the best I had in a while! The hush puppies were larger than I expected and they were tasty slight sweeter finish to them and the honey butter served with it was just right. Hey even the Sweet Tea is great!! We ordered the pulled pork platter, two meat combo, and two children meals with green beans, Mac n cheese, coleslaw, and potato salad as sides, with banana delight and peach cobbler for dessert. The staff was very friendly and the food was quick. However, neither the Carolina Gold nor the sweet and spicy bbq sauce were very tasty - sort of bland. The brisket was dry, but the pulled pork was decent. Both the green beans and potato salad were bland as well, in dire need of salt and something else. The peach cobbler was like yellow cake with canned peaches. The best part of the meal was the Mac and cheese and the banana delight. The Mac and cheese was full of cheese and delicious. The bathrooms were dirty, with watered down soap (colored water) and no paper towels. We won't be back unfortunately. read more

In town for the holidays and stopped in for a late lunch. Service was friendly and food was really really good. The smoke ring on the brisket was spit on. The meat , lean and tender .... The Pulled pork sandwich was loaded with tender , moist pork on a soft buttered bun. Hand cut fries were really good also. Mac and cheese was true Southern Mac and cheese and loaded with gooey cheese . I prefer it made with small elbow macaroni and this was extra large elbows. But still rather tasty. We've been waiting for a real BBQ restaurant to come to Greenwood, and it has finally happened. The pulled pork is tender, with great smoky flavor, and both BBQ sauces are tasty. We love the mac and cheese, green beans, baked beans and potato salad. The night I had the brisket it was a bit dry, but I've heard from co-workers that theirs was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The chicken is moist and smoky. If you're not in the mood for BBQ, then try the cheeseburger! It's one of the best in town. It's made to order and worth waiting for. They don't over-cook it, so it's juicy and flavorful. The people are friendly and service is spectacular. They know what they're doing! I think their pricing is actually right in line because the quality of the food is a cut above most BBQ joints. We're at Fat Daddy's about once a week - I think we've tried most everything on the menu except dessert... maybe we'll have to save room tonight. read more

Service was great first time we tried this spot on a whim and food was just okay average BBQ. Second time and the last for us which was about 3-4 months ago. Service was just not there at all, girl at counter didn't say Hello just stood there looking like she would rather be home sleeping. We approached and asked if she was ready to take our order she said said" yeah when your ready go ahead" some guy brought us our order it was missing side of fries took forever to wave someone down because there wasn't anyone to be seen. Finally got our fries which are cold, no ne to be seen again so just ate cold fries. ( there were two other people at tables besides us eating also but were finished). You have to refill your own drinks here which is fine. Not sure why the cashier should be tipped when she didn't give any customer service but there is a jar there if you wanna drop some $ in it. Food was just okay with Flavor , husband said his brisket was kind of dry .. So we rate the food just average C+ for BBQ and the Customer Service was just ABSENT so it gets a F.
