Our DJ Jason was very professional at our wedding, and took the reins as the master of ceremonies for the occasion. He's obviously quite experienced at DJ'ing at weddings. My only criticism is that we made a list of the songs we wanted played, and asked that he keep the songs to 80% of what was on that list, but he mixed about 50/50 from our list and songs he preferred (he left out some of the songs we requested). So, if there were a 4.5 stars rating, that's what I'd give, but everyone certainly seemed to be happy with the music, and I suppose that's what's most important. We had DJ Dominiq. There was no final meeting even though that was part of our contract. He also created a few awkward moments during the speeches, like playing inappropriate music between speeches, confusing a lot of our guests). During the ending song, he did things without our consent, which surprised us and caused a panic attack. When confronted about these things, Bouquet Sound tried to shift the blame to our wedding planner. There was no apology. Overall, very unprofessional, very disappointed. (Just read the response to this review and again, no accountability from the company for their mistake over asking consent. DJ Eddie and Bouquet Sound were hired for our 8-hour wedding and impressed both my husband and myself. For one, my wedding was postponed 13 months, and Bouquet Sound was more than accommodating. And we are so happy we went with their uplighting instead of our venues, as it was in sync with the music and really added to the "party" vibe we were going for. Bouquet Sound is great! We chose to have them DJ our daughter's wedding and they provided up-lighting, a bogo, Photo Booth and ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing music. They also provided the officiant microphone which was perfect. We didn't have to worry about the music at all. Matt contacted my daughter about 12 days before the wedding and they spoke for over an hour so he could get a feel for what type of music he should play. As the mother of the bride I would have liked a few more slow songs haha, but for my daughter and her college friends, it was perfect. Matt was not obtrusive on the microphone either. Not one for long reviews, but I'll try to pitch this one in a fun way: I got a call 4 days before my October wedding from Matt saying that our DJ was sick and there was a last minute replacement by Miles, who had previously work with Matt and was a great DJ returning to CA. Miles called me shortly after and that's when it went south. Strike 1: Miles had not reviewed anything for our wedding until the phone call, seemed like he had no idea what he needed to do, let me know his assistant was coming (because it's his girlfriend and this way they get to spend time together because she's too busy during the week) and proceeded to share details about her life. We accommodated her vendor meal assuming she would provide some sort of service to help the DJ's work run smoothly. He also mentioned that he was supposed to DJ a high scale hotel that weekend but since it was cancelled he would do our wedding. Strike 2: Upon entering our reception venue the DJ was frantically walking around trying to get WiFi, and while he was pointed in the direction of both the venue staff, and our coordinating team of seven, he did not ask for help and it took him an hour into our arrival to figure it out. We skipped our grand entrance and opted for a reentrance later in the night- or so we thought. Dinner was served and he did not call any tables. The coordinator had to tell him to call a table up, and then he didn't call any of the others until the father of the bride went up and told him to call the rest of the tables. This was the full extent of the MC services. Strike 3: When special dances started, Miles played the wrong song for the bride and groom- despite a layout and timeline provided for him. The groom had to walk over and tell him it was incorrect after standing there looking at him from the dance floor for 30 seconds. The song for the groom& mother dance was wrong too. The names were also called wrong for speeches. Didn't think you could get 4 strikes, but here we are: When we were ready for our reentrance the coordinator let Miles know and as we walked out he LEFT HIS BOOTH and walked past us. I swear this man was leaving his set up every half hour. His girlfriend was sitting there not offering any help. So the reentrance was skipped and we went into general dancing. Someone asked him for a specific song and he told them no and the family member had to come ask for permission. This one isn't even a strike, it's a penalty: Miles' girlfriend walked across the venue to the bride to very aggressively try to defend the DJ- or that's what it seems like. I immediately told her to stop and that the DJ had dropped the ball and I didn't need to hear it from her. She was unkind, in my face, and straight up unprofessional. There's no crying in baseball: Here's what it comes down to: Miles is NOT an MC by any stretch of the imagination, comes very unprepared and unprofessional, was smoking at his booth all night (when he wasn't walking away and missing cues), using wedding jobs as a date night for his girlfriend who accosted the bride, and I'm pretty sure at one point he called the groom the wrong name. Another vendor told me that the DJ was rude and unprofessional to him and his company. When the coordinator reached out to the owner (or anyone who would answer) she never got a reply. An added bonus: When speaking with another vendor after the wedding she let me know that Bouquet Sound called her to ask her experience working with an "unpleasant" and "uncommunicative" bride, as that was Miles' reason that the coordinator had reported an issue. So they clearly got the messages left- but chose not to try and make things right. read more
