Lovely owner and easy to speak with! But unfortunately it didn't work out the way I thought it would. When you order something off of a website and it shows you a clear image of what is being offered you would hope that what would be what is was going to look like. That really didn't happen here which is unfortunate. The bouquet was thin and lacked the energy of what the website shared. I wanted to support my friend's local florist and I had so many other vendors (online) I could've ordered flowers through for my girlfriend's birthday. My husband and I planned an intimate backyard wedding on a very small budget. It was the best and most magical day of my life! I live in Chicago, but I chose a florist in Des Plaines because my parents live there and I planned to have them pick up our flowers. Bouquets, Baskets & Balloons participated in the Flower Show at St. Theresa's and Marisue made beautiful arrangements - whimsical (unicorn-theme), holidays (cornucopia and a snowman basket - all white with just a touch of greenery), a beautiful birthday cake, and a tropical plant. All were amazing and it was fun to watch her work and create these pieces. Previously I ordered the birthday cake for my sister's 60th birthday and that was when I knew she was a very talented florist. It was very nice to meet and support a local businesswoman. I really had nothing but a horrible experience with this florist.. To begin with, I started planning our wedding and chose this florist because she was the most affordable...I guess you get what you pay for! She wouldn't even meet with me a second time without takin a deposit. She is NEVER onsite and you have to make an appointment to even come into the store. Everytime we met is was 40 degrees in her shop and she never turned the heat on. I kept trying to explain my ideas to her and she never seemed to get it. I asked for a cascading bouquet and what I got was something that looked like a pin cushion with roses and orchids sticking out if it at all sides! To make thing worse, flowers started to fall out of the bouquet DURING my ceremony! My bridesmaids bouquets looked like they were missing half of their flowers and the bouquets seems very thin and had gaping holes in a lot of areas. She also failed to give me a Mary bouquet and insisted that she dropped one off at the church and that someone had taken it...this may have been the case since she dropped them off an HOUR earlier than what was on our contract and that there was another ceremony going on at the time, they could have mistaken it for one of their flowers when they were leaving! All on all horrible service and I would NEVER recommend this florist to my worst enemies. read more

I explained what I wanted and my budget, and they made a gorgeous arrangement that meant so much to the recipients. When they delivered it, the church was locked and no one was there, so they called to let me know, and waited until someone arrived. They were helpful, same day delivery etc. However, the flowers delivered were a sad substitute for what I ordered based on options on their website. Very HAPPY!!!! We used Bouquets Baskets and Balloons for my recent wedding centerpeices, bouquets, etc and we could not be any more thrilled!!! MariSue arranged all the flowers perfectly and the coral color of the flowers she ordered turned out PERFECT! We were a little hesitant because my mother found her in the phone book, we had never used this company before. We had a big order ahead of us with 29 large centerpeices and a wedding party of 22! Was looking for a "Sweet 16-esque" birthday bouquet for my dear mom, and came across BB&B. First plus? They knew what a Sweet 16 corsage was, sugar cubes and all! Second plus? They translated it beautifully into a vased bouquet that my mom could have on her bedside table. What blew me away? Even though they had to make a special trip out to pick up some specialty flowers we requested that their shop didn't have in-stock, the bouquet was designed, created, and DELIVERED the same day we called!! I recently had flowers delivered from here from a dear family friend. Unfortunately I was almost unable to thank her because the owner/florist signed the card wrong. My friend ordered it over the phone and the woman described a lovely arrangement, what I got was a hot mess. There were a few roses (already browning on the edges of the petals) a random selection of carnations, one tulip (wilted within 36 hours) and a few green fillers. I heard through the grapevine that my friend had sent flowers, but I had never received flowers from her, and then my husband and I put 2 and 2 together and realized I had sent a thank you note to my in-laws for flowers they didn't send! The owner signed the card with *our* last name... so it made me look like a moron! When I called the owner to discuss the matter, she didn't even apologize and suggested that my friend told her the wrong name. Most people know their own last name. I would not recommend this business to anyone, and even politely suggested to a mutual friend that our friend who did send the flowers get her money back from this business. It was a disaster from beginning to end. My husband had tried to stop in here two previous times to pick up flowers for me, but they are always closed. I guess he was lucky, cause he went to Pesche's instead! read more

The icing on the cake was the horrendous customer service, which included awful communication skills and an owner/manager who has serious anger management issues. My husband and I were married this past July in Park Ridge and used Bouquets, Baskets, & Balloons for all of our wedding party bouquets and boutonnieres, our ceremony pew decorations, and our reception table centerpieces. The flowers were just lovely. I had forgotten exactly what I had ordered and was pleasantly surprised to see all of the girls' bouquets lined up at my parents' house, on time, the morning of. The arrangements looked incredible. Despite the humid weather, most of the bouquets stayed fresh looking all day long, and well into the evening thanks to the wonderfully hidden water sources the owner had thought to install and cover with beautiful, vibrant ribbons. The centerpieces at the reception - purple orchids with greenery - were just as memorable. In fact, I received several complements from guests, some coming even weeks after the celebration was over. The owner was also willing to pick up her vases at the reception location the morning after the wedding. She is easy to get a hold of and willing to work with you in order to find ways to meet your requests in terms of flower type and cost. read more
