Arrived at restaurant after a 16 hour work day. Stood by the "please wait to be seated sign" only to be passed by all three waitresses at a minimum 3 times each. After 7 minutes of waiting a hostess finally appeared from the back to seat us. Waited another 5 minuets for drink orders. 6 minuets to get the actual drinks. Didn't see our waits for another 6 minuets. She took our order. Food and beer were out standing. No complaints there. Just not a good experience with the service. A go to place on a friday night. Great burgers, lots of unique choices (try the burnin love burger), many beers and liquors on tap all for a pretty good price. Placed an order for pick up and were told 20 minutes. Arrived 25 minutes later, they charged us for the food and said it would be out in a few minutes. 20 minutes later the food is still not out, we ask for a refund. Without saying a word to us the bartender walks away. He return a few minutes later with 2 burgers- we ordered one burger and a few other things. Have to get his attention again to get a refund. This takes another 5 minutes because he goes to find the original receipt even though we still have our copy. Not even a word of apology or explanation. Inexcusable customer service. Stuff happens I get it. If you're busy at least give yourself extra time for pick up orders. I don't mind waiting 50 minutes but I don't want to awkwardly stand around a full restaurant for 30 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready. An apology or an explanation and trying to make it right when something goes wrong is necessary for a good business. read more

My husband and i have been coming here since they opened, and they are consistently delicious. Fancy, nope. Fast, not usually. But who the heck cares when the food is awesome? Not me. I fell in love with the Maryland crabcake sandwich a while ago so its all I order (no tarter, thai chili sauce instead) I dream about that thing. The coleslaw here is great too, if you happen to love coleslaw which I do. My husband is always trying a new burger and he's yet to have one he doesn't like. We live southeast of Rochester but a friend who has family in Batavia/is from Batavia RAVED about Bourbon & Burger. We were in the area and it was dinner time, so we decided to stop in. It was a Tuesday evening around 6:30. I'll start with the good: The burgers were GREAT. My bf got the special, Loaded Potato Burger. I got the Miami Beach. The ingredients were high quality (especially the ham on mine). The fries are AMAZINGLY good. They are large and thicker cut--I think in-house--and the seasoning is fantastic. Reminded me of Arby's curly fry flavor but not as caked on and not as orange. The food was delicious. This is the reason I gave B&B a 3 star rating because... THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. Our server barely came by our table - we were seated in the bar area at a table near the bathrooms. The entire staff went by repeatedly but no one noticed drinks running low or the fact that we were waiting over 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered. Just before our orders were finally going to be ready, our server breezed by to get drink refills and mentioned there was a large party of 25 that ordered just ahead of us. (Here's a tip: TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS RIGHT AWAY WHEN THEY ARE ABOUT TO GET SCREWED BY A LARGE PARTY.) Our dinners arrived about 5 minutes later. They were dropped and our server vanished, again. My bf and I were fine with our meals - we had just gotten drink refills so we were focused on hurrying up to eat. It was almost 7:30 and we had a long drive to get home, and things to do. The one who was not fine was my 14yo son who had ordered just a side salad. He asked for no tomatoes. NOTICE TO TOMATO DESPISERS: the tomatoes are DICED super small. He spent more than 5 minutes trying to pick them off. The people at the next table even joked about how diligently he was working at trying to remove them. He finally thought he had cleared a path and started in on the lettuce, but discovered there was a second layer of tomatoes buried under the lettuce. Had our server stopped by at all, maybe he could've gotten another salad. (In less than 45 minutes.) But she didn't come back until we had our dinner plates stacked on the corner of the table. She saw he had barely touched his salad and had a pile of tomatoes on a napkin, but didn't do any sort of service recovery. We inquired about his order - she said she didn't write down 'no tomato' for his salad. Now, here's where you're supposed to offer to get another salad, remove the salad from our bill, or offer him something like a free dessert/drink. This girl shrugged her shoulders and took our plates away after he refused a to-go box for his half-eaten salad, and dropped our bill. We were done. The food is great but the sh_tty service experience means I'm not making this a top-of-the-list destination the next time I'm in Batavia. (Note: I'm not a center-of-the-universe person. I understand large parties happen and they gum up the works for smaller places like this. But that's exactly where you have to be on your game with service: tell other patrons up front that there's a large party and there will be delays. Make the effort to stop by as often as you can to keep your customers engaged. Work as a team - if you're caught up with the big party, your manager and possibly other staff should help cover the floor so you're not losing tables. This is Restaurant 101. I can be totally understanding that your place just got nailed, but don't wait to tell me that AFTER I've waited 45 minutes to see you and my dinner.) read more

I was a seasoned road warrior for 20 years. I've been in every kind of pub, tavern eatery, burger joint, sports bar, there is in most of the US. And I don't mean just once at these places, I frequented them often. I've been going to Bourbon and burger since they opened and I am aghast at the terrible reviews I see here on yelp. I've been in this place almost every day for lunch since the pandemic hit. The food here is terrific, the burger combinations are unique to say the least. The wait staff and bartenders have been there for years because they're the best, you don't get rid of good people. If they're not good enough for you then that's your problem. Recently I've seen people come in, slam their hands on the bar after 10 seconds complaining they didn't get any service. They walked out probably doing the wait staff a favor! In my honest opinion if you visited this place for the first time and wrote a bad Yelp review, you're just an a**h*** that no one would be able to satisfy. read more

I was surprised to see no reviews on the mobile app and only 3 reviews on-line. This place must be a great up and coming. I have traveled around the US and this is a perfect example of a gourmet burger, it could even be the definition. This place offers a very relaxed atmosphere with a large bar and a pool table (it's sup rising that food this good and a pool table can be in the same room). I had the signature Bourbon burger with fries. The meat tasted fresh and it was cooked to perfection. The meat was very tender and juicy either from the bourbon or it was of a very good quality. I'm thinking both. Then there are the fries. They are the perfect complement to any burger; not greasy, over/underseasoned, just right. I stumbled in here for lunch while on holiday vacation and enjoyed a three bourbon flight that was perfect for a cold winter's day lunch, along with their signature burger. Pretty good meal, a bit understaffed! I went on a Friday night and was messing my boyfriend when he got out of work. Walked in to get a table and the host takes me to small person table and I asked for the open booth a few places away and she told me no she was saving that for 4 parties only, yet the next group came in asked their waiter who said go ahead and have it (party of 2!) anyways, the waitress had about 7-8 tables so I never saw her asides from water until my bf came. Maybe that was because I was alone... but I wanted to order his drink and an app to be waiting when he came or on their way! The food in general was good, the prices even better! The fried pickles were SO GOOD, I loved the mix of spears and chips! Maybe a spicy ranch sauce to go with like some places. BEWARE if you go to this place.... 5 of us went there last night when the bill came Donovan had an extra $10.00 added to his bill that made us starte looking at our bills. WELL... We ALL had a large gratuity added in the place where the tax should have been. When I questioned the amount the waitress got extremely NASTY, saying that was her fee for splitting the tickets WHAT???? She took it off and I did NOT leave her a TIP. A little while back a large group of us Workampers went there, we all left her a good tip, not knowing at that time she had already added in her OWN tip, because she had to split the tickets, so she made out like a bandit... She did come back out and told one of our friends that she took her gratuity off of her bill and said that they had a new policy that they would add a gratuity to every bill on parties of over 7 guest. One of my favorite places to go for burgers. They have so many different choices it's hard to decide which one to get. Our last visit the service was a big fail. The food is what kept this rating so high. We went on 2/23 and the wait for food was really long and it appeared all the tables we're getting unhappy and had to keep asking for more drinks. I heard a customer ask why their meal was taking so long and the girl was so rude and when they asked for a manager so mentioned she was the manager and walked away rolling her eyes. There was tables the we're sitting before us and just got their food as we were leaving. Our food even took awhile but either way if they kitchen is backed up it's the waitress job to make sure everyone has a drink and to inform customers what's going on with the delay.
