Tully's is a classic spot from my childhood that now I can enjoy as an adult. My son also loves coming to Tully's to play the arcade games so it's a win-win. Our server was great here and made sure our order was sent in quick since we were in a bit of time crunch. I usually get the tenders or the burger whenever we go to Tully's. I came to Tully's to watch game 4 of the Sabres series against Boston. The place was busy, but not crowded, and I got a seat at the bar. It is definitely a sports oriented ambiance. There are literally dozens of TV's all around. The barmaid was friendly and brought some popcorn. I ordered a 22 oz. glass of Tully's pilsener which was only $5.50! The beer was good. I had heard that their chicken tenders are their go-to item, so that's what I chose, and I was not disappointed. Looking for a laid back dinner while visiting family, we stopped at Tully's. We waited about 15-20 minutes for a seat, which really wasn't bad considering our party size. Huge menu and lots of creative drinks. I enjoyed my orange tender rice bowl, and my husband liked the spice level of his habanero wings. My sister's pasta was pretty buttery, but she liked the flavor, and my mom was having a hard time getting through her Asian salad because the chicken was much spicier than she was expecting. I ordered the Tully's Classic Smashburger with fries. It came out fairly quickly, and the burgers were a lot bigger than I expected. It was excellent, very tasty and hit the spot. Worst Experience EVER at Tullys. Absolutely ridiculous and if it doesn't change, I'll never be back. We arrived at 2:35 PM for a late lunch. There probably wasn't 6 people in the restaurant and more waitresses than customers. We ordered popcorn and was told that the machine was not working... yet we sat and watched as other patrons walking in were given popcorn. We ordered drinks, and asked for lemon for our iced tea.... One of my favorite spots to enjoy chicken fingers. They are homemade, fresh, juicy and yummy. Located right on the main drag in Batavia. Plenty of seating and big bar. Despite the tenders being my predetermined choice, I asked the waitress for her recommendations. I should have paid attention to what she did not mention. Though there was a large amount of tenders, and my taste buds were at an anticipatory high, reality overpowered any other influence. The tenders were tasteless. I wondered whether the special spice they used in the batter was made solely from grinding down Tully's colorful beer coasters, which of course would make the chicken tenders uniquely Tully's. What a find! We didn't know until 1/2 through our meal that this was a New York chain. Food was not run of the mill big chain kind of stuff. Everything was seasoned well and great portions. Great chicken fingers, and they give you popcorn as an appetizer for free. The wait time isn't great but thats manageable as long as you get there earlier enough. The wait staff is also very kind. There are a bunch of TV's in there it is kind of overwhelming. There is also a big ninja turtles arcade thing, I didn't play it but I love the teenage mutant ninja turtles so that's wonderful. The salads were sub par, the chicken was totally tasteless, basically the entire salad was tasteless (except for the overpowering dried out red onion) and needed the dressing (we ordered on the side, dressing is nothing but ranch and salsa mixed together). The walls at the corner booth where we were sat were filthy with dust, cobwebs and what looked to be dried food, disgusting. Used to come here often... this was by far the worst experience, likely resulting in never returning. After being seated, it was over 20 minutes just to get our water. Our waitress then took another 13 (started counting at that point) to return for our order. From there, our food was over 35 minutes... it arrived Luke warm, with our fries being cold and stale. Absolutely gross... we then asked for sauce for our dry tenders, and were charged .90 cents! Why would you charge due to your cook being horrible??? We told the waitress about our cold fries and were brought new ones toward the end of our meal. In addition our drinks sat empty most of the meal due to not being checked on. I read the reviews while writing this thinking this was my only a visit this trip. I guess we headed back. One of the kids really loved their meatloaf. So based on the review recommendation I order the Tully Tenders. Chicken tenders served with fries and a honey mustard dipping sauce. Based on the question if I was good with the dipping sauce I am going out on a limb and say they will substitute the dip. Yes they are some of the best chicken tender I have ever had.
