I visited with a group of about 20 people for lunch recently. We each had separate tabs, which I know is annoying for the server, but she never made any complaint known. She was friendly and accommodating, quick to respond to requests and kept things flowing nicely. The space was comfortable and spacious for us to have a large group sit together. Being a sports bar, there were TVs all around with different games playing as well as lots of sports-related decor. It's got a vibe and is great for friends to get together and watch their favorite sports team while enjoying a beer and wings. I ordered a cobb salad which was not too bad. Let me start by saying Kerri the Waitress really knows her way around a pub and grub. She was quick to refill my drinks and she provided the perfect ice-water ratio in my glass. The music took me back to my Houston roots and the tcu vs Colorado upset I watched on the tv brought me back to my birth place, Fort Worth. First time eating here, and I was impressed. The place is nice inside with a lot of tv's to watch every sports game imaginable. The service was good and very attentive. Drink was never empty, the French dip was very good and it was cooked to perfection. Auju was spot on not to salty just right. I will come here again with my wife. Bout Time Pub & Grub is one of very few restaurants in Utah that serves a Monte Cristo Sandwich. They also offer a Monte Cristo Egg Roll appetizer. Both were good but my favorite was the egg rolls. The raspberry preserves could have been better. The server was very busy but tried to be the most attentive as she could be. We go for the burgers and jalapeño poppers! We've eaten in a few times but we normally just get it to go. Most places especially with hamburgers (buns) and fries it gets soggy and gross, but bout time does something else and I'm not sure what cause it's still amazing when you get it to go!!! The service is always top notch and the girls are so sweet. The place is in a parking lot shared with a smiths and other places but when you go in you can't tell. This place is like TJ Maxx they are everywhere and every strip mall and their food is delicious. They have a Montecristo that is so delicious and real potato fries. I love this place. WhenI go to a bar, I want good beer and drinks, good service and to be charged honestly for my experience. This bar does all three. Throw in excellent food and multiple TVs and it only gets better. I've been going here since it opened and the consistency is the same. The owner needs to worry more about the food (which has gone terribly downhill) and not on getting drunk with a couple of regulars & being obnoxious. This was the most disappointing burger I have ever eaten. I might as well have slabbed a half pound of beef in the sink before cooking with no seasonings. While I understand Bout Time might not be for everyone, it's important to review objectively and that is what I'm going to do here. I understand Bout Time might not be for everyone, but people need to remember this is not a gastro pub , nor is it a micro brewery. It's a sport bar chain, plain and simple. If you are looking for the other things, try visiting one instead! As a sports bar it is inherently full of TV's and noisy, especially if there is a game or event on, that's part of why sports bars exist. While a small location when compared to others it's a pleasant atmosphere and a fun place to come and relax. I've been here several times and never had anything but good service. Michelle who is the main server on weekends does a great job, is very friendly, and does a decent job staying on top of things. I won't deny I do feel sometimes they are somewhat understaffed, and can be slow with food, but never had an issue getting beverages in a quick fashion and they are great at making sure refill orders are in with time to spare. The draft beers selection is what you would expect from a sports bar and really is no better or worse than any of the similar competing chains, so certainly no complaints on this front. I admit the food could be better, but again, this is not what they are about. In general when I go, I just get appetizers. They are big portions and there are actually some pretty decent items in that part of the menu which are perfect finger food to enjoy along with your beverages. You just have to find your favorites, I have a few. Its Herriman location is very convenient for me who lives close by on the East side of Riverton and we don't have a lot of options for bars in this part of the valley so having this here is very welcome. On a final note, the 3.2% draft beers are Utah law. However that is by weight which is the same as 4% ABV (by volume) which is more generally the amount that manufacturers and restaurants/bars state on beers so in reality it's not quite as weak compared to full strength beers as you might think. However, I think knocking a business for something it cannot control due to local regulations is a little unfair. I appreciate everyone is entitled to an opinion so I'm not trying to judge anyone, I just prefer to work with facts. If you live in the area and enjoy sports bar atmosphere give it a try, you might just like it! read more

Tonight for dinner I decided to go back to Bout Time in Herriman Utah and try another item from the menu. I ordered the B.A.B.B. burger.  This burger consists of a ground chuck patty topped with sliced ham, corned beef hash, sliced bacon, fried egg and cheese. The burger is served in a burger bun with garlic mayo.  The burger also come with a side of seasoned fries. I will start with the fries.  The fries were cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor.  The fry sauce that was included was also delish with a nice smoky hickory flavor. Now the burger I am going to say wow, wow, wow.  This burger was amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection and all the toppings were amazing.  The sliced ham, corned beef hash, sliced bacon and fried egg were cooked perfectly and I was overwhelmed by the flavor.  I opted for pepper jack cheese instead of American and the cheese added a nice little kick to the burger.  The bun was nice and moist and tasted really good.  To say that I was amazed by this burger would be an understatement. As far as value for the money I would say that this burger was an exceptional value for the money and I definitely got full from eating it.  I couldn't finish all the fries. I defintately recommend Bout Time in Herriman and the B.A.B.B. Burger.  I will definitely go back and try more items on the menu. read more

My husband and I came here tonight for the first time. I wanted to like it but I didn't. We ordered the soft pretzel as our appetizer. There was so much salt (table salt) on it that I couldn't even eat it! I had a hard time getting the salt taste out of my mouth. As our meals, my husband got the Ultimate Nachos. They were just okay. He didn't even finish them. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. Big mistake. It was extremely dry and flavorless. For something that has green peppers and onions in it, there was no hint of flavor. I didn't eat it. The fries...so soggy and floppy. The other huge bummer...no Diet Coke. Who orders a Jack and Pepsi, or a Rum and Pepsi? The service wasn't great. We ate there one afternoon and had the best pizza since moving to Herriman. My husband ran over to pick one up because I wasn't feeling well. What a disappointment. Half of the pizza didn't have cheese or toppings. It's thin crust, so we were shocked the crust wasn't fully cooked. If we had been eating in, we would have sent it back. After several months, I finally tried out Bout Time. I'd been reluctant too, based off of judging the book by it's cover. However, considering that we are desperate to have new restaurants in the area, I eventually had to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it's (yet) another dud. I walk in and am ignored for the first couple of minutes by the bartender, who was chatting with a friend. Her willingness to help didn't really improve. She was cordial but not friendly, and gave the distinct impression that she really couldn't be bothered to provide attentive, friendly service. Slow to take my order, couldn't hardly be bothered to check on it. Had someone else (eventually) bring it out. There were only a dozen people in the place. I had one of the sandwiches. $10 can buy a really great sandwich anywhere in this valley. Unfortunately, at Bout Time, $10 gets you a really poor club. Really sub-par in every way, quality, taste, texture. Enormous size was it's only redeeming value, if you think that's a redeeming value. I won't be eating there again. Love it! What a great place to watch a game and get some food. One side is a pub type atmosphere and the other side has only tables for those who prefer not to be within sight of the bar. Both sides have tons of tv's. I had the French dip pizza and it was great. Just what you'd think: cheesy pizza with tasty sliced beef on it and an au jus for dipping. This dish is made for a place like this and definitely worth the trip to try. I also had the fried pickles. The pickles were very tasty, the frying did not leave them greasy, and the sauce that comes with it was good. Pisswater Palace Calling yourself a pub and at the same time, only serving really weak beer on tap sounds like an oxymoron to me. I've been to Bout Time a few times now and vowed never again to go there. Their beer is really really weak. Turns out you can actually get a "full strength" beer, as they put it, but from what I understand they go to the State liquor store and buy it there. Really? All the draft beers (on tap) are 3.2% or less. The reason I go to a pub is in part due to being able to get good draft beer. I can drink bottled beer at home, at a fraction of the price. When I'm in a pub I want draft beer. Now I know it can be argued that it's not Bout Time's fault, this is about Utah's licensing laws. However there are pubs in Utah that sell good beer on draft and normal strengths, such as Hoppers & Wingnuts for example. So in reality it is as simple as this, if you want a decent draft beer, don't go to Bout Time... I have to say I also, do not like the screens everywhere and the load music format either. It's hard to have a conversation... If you suffer from ADHD and can't tell a crap beer from "the real mccoy", you'll probably love this place... Oh, and Fish and Chips, served not with French Fries but with actual chips (American Chips - English Crips), you are kidding right, this is some kind of a joke? Update: So I stand corrected,,, a little. As I understand it, due to the state laws no pub in Utah can serve greater than 3.2%. However this is where things get tricky. They can actually serve up to 4% by volume. This does not mean they have to. There is nothing stopping them serving beers with a lower alcoholic content. My subjective experience is that the draft beers in "Bout Time" are significantly weaker that other pubs and brew houses I have been to in the Salt Lake valley. They taste to me as if they have been watered down. Now I admit that is a subjective opinion as I have not actually measured them. However I have been there several times and every time, it seems to me that very very weak draft beer is the standard. I admit I could be wrong, however that is my opinion. The old lady that works here is RUDE... her name is LISA. We came one night and WE THOUGHT maybe she was just having a rough night so we were just tryna keep the cool and enjoy our night... even left a tip thinking that would help. BAD CHOICE. We came back another night and she wasn't even our waitress but SOMEHOW SHE STIIIIILL had a problem with us. It was barely after 1am and she came over with an attitude and said "pool tables closed" after our boys had already been playing for a good 5 minutes. She walks away, makes a trip around the bar and comes right back to the pool table and starts throwing balls into the holes and says "You guys think I'm joking!?" THROWING BALLS INTO THE HOLES. Mind you, the place closes at 2 and the pool table is ran off of coins, not a bartender. Then she gets up in our face and starts yelling trying to throw us out. REALLY LISA?!!!! Not to mention the EXTRA DRINKS that was added to our tab from a group that SHE SERVICED that night. Nice try. We were only there for an hour this night, minding our own business, not even causing a scene or anything. If it wasn't for all the other friendly, welcoming, non judge mental people that work here, LISA would ruin it for this whole place! I suggest you put her on the schedule when she's not having a rough day or just put up a sign that says BROWN PEOPLE NOT WELCOME on the nights she works because she made it VERY clear that she didn't want us there when she made the announcement to everyone in the place when she yelled "I HATE THEM!!!!" at the top of her lungs. My wife and I walked in and sat down. It took about 5-10 minutes to get our drink orders in. The woman helping us was less than pleasant. After I received an okay Moscow Mule and my wife her lemonade, POOF! The waitress was never to be seen again, at least not near our table. She was around flirting with all the men at the bar and dodged us for almost 15 minutes before I walked up to the bar and paid. She also sat around with the other coworkers talking, making eye contact with us and continuing on her conversation.
