Late post but deserving of one... The experience I celebrated my 30th birthday with my close friends around Chef Matthew's beautiful dining table, at his Boutique Restaurant. We were greeted with an intimate setting, dimmed lights, smooth tunes, and mouth watering aromas from the kitchen. Needless to say, the 4 course meal was nothing short of delicious (my favorite being the 8-hr roasted lamb shank). Chef Matthew's From first email till the meet up, he was prompt in responding and professional. He listened to what my requests were and presented a menu that suited all of my guest palate! For the service and quality that he provided his prices are very reasonable especially 3-days before Christmas! Seeing as though it was my 30th birthday I asked to bring extra decor (simple stuff) and he was very accommodating. -Did I enjoy the experience: YES -Would I recommend: YES (and I did, think my aunt booked the week after). -Would I dine again: YES

I would definitely recommend Chef Matthew and Boutique for your private dining needs and catering. I attended a friend's private birthday dinner and was blown away by the intimate setting and ambiance at Boutique. There were 8 of us and we were able to byob (wine in our case) so it allowed us to converse and truly enjoy ourselves! The food was amazing and I truly appreciated the fact that Chef Matthew took the time out to make us feel at home. He explained every dish he prepared and served us. Not only was he very professional, but he was extremely humble, very personable and very welcoming. I would without a doubt recommend his services and will hopefully use for my own private dining get together experience in the near future

Chef Matthew set up an amazing space, with amazing food, and amazing service. I contacted him about a private dinner with my family for my wife's birthday. I expressed to him my desire to make a special evening for her, but taking into consideration that COVID is still an issue, and that we wanted to keep away from other people as much as possible. He provided me with a menu that had multiple options that all fell within the requirements I provided. It was extremely difficult to narrow down the choices because EVERYTHING on the menu sounded AMAZING! He listened to everything I said, and absolutely knocked it out of the park! Everything Chef Matthew made for us was so delicious... there were NO leftovers, at all. The space is absolutely beautiful. The dining area looked amazing. There's a comfortable lounge area at the rear of the loft where my family and I were able to relax prior to dinner being served. Just as a point of information, the space is so beautiful, that we were able to have a photographer come for a photoshoot with my family throughout the space. All in all, we had a wonderful experience. One that none of us, especially my wife, will soon forget. I highly recommend Chef Matthew and Boutique BK. You will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend hired Chef Matt to surprise me with a Harry Potter-themed birthday dinner - they absolutely knocked it out of the park!! Or Quidditch court, really. Whichever. Chef Matt created a whole meal to suit the theme - and everything was gluten-free to meet my annoying dietary restrictions. (I think they're annoying - my bf says Chef Matt was absolutely responsive and willing to work with our needs.) AND Chef Matt showed up in full HP costume with props and Hogwartian dishes and lighting. A night of nerdy fun I'll never forget!!

Chef Matthew came to our house for a private dinner party that was a gift to my wife and I. He arrived on time to get the first course served as scheduled and everything moved on schedule. Food was great. Brussel sprout salad and risotto ball to start we're great and really display his complexity of flavors. Rrally good short rib that falls off the bone and solid halibut. Short rib was star of the show. Finished with great tiramasu desert. Chef Matthew is very genuine and his personality leaves you feeling g like you've known him for years. We'd recommend Chef Matthew.

We called Olivia after speaking with many caterers about about approach, cuisine and budget, and we were honestly getting a bit defeated. My first conversation with Olivia was so incredibly refreshing in that I told her we are trying to decide between tacos or barbeque and she responded with a very effortless, "why choose?". This immediately put me at ease as we started to brainstorm together. All other caterers were now subpar. She crafted a beautiful menu for us that included mini (single-bite) sized tacos as part of the hors d'oeuvres and an upscale barbeque with hometown roots for the entree. Our guests have not stopped RAVING about our food (strong accolades for the BBQ still rolling in from our Texas and Tennessee-native guests, so you know it was great!). We received a truly personalized experience with Olivia. She even stepped in to work with us directly when we had questions and get saleswoman was unavailable! From the first time I got in touch with her, Chef Aless was always prompt with her responses - as it was my first time ever doing anything like this, she helped curate a menu for my husband and I based on our likes/dislikes. I had also gone back to her to switch up a couple items, which she had no problem with either - really appreciate the flexibility! On the day of, she came by a bit early (which was a non-issue for us considering we were idling by at home), and was very efficient as soon as she stepped in - we were served some delicious hors d'oeuvres (fig and brie crisps were divine!), an appetizer (truffle burrata and arugula, with a delicious pomegranate molasses dressing), second course (crab cakes with mango slaw, always a favorite in my book), main course (a perfectly medium rare Pat LaFrieda steak), some sides (a decadent sauce for the steak, creamed spinach and potatoes lyonnaise; if you coudln't tell, we wanted to replicate the NYC steakhouse experience), and lastly, chocolate mousse for dessert (needless to say, it was amazing). And best of all, she left the kitchen spotless, which was much appreciated. I also want to note that it's important to clarify what you're looking for when hiring a private chef, especially as a first timer (like me) - I thought Chef Aless was going to cook everything from start to finish at our apartment, however she actually came by with everything mostly prepared, and left the finishing touches for last. Granted, not everyone has a fully equipped kitchen so I totally understand her coming pre-prepped, but considering my husband and I both love cooking and have a nearly fully-equipped kitchen, we would've loved to see her in action and use the opportunity to pick up some pro-tips. All in all, Chef Aless was an absolute pleasure to work and speak with, and I'm so happy to have found her. So this brings me to this...how did I not discover Jason's Kitchen until recently? Where has this Chef been and why has he not blown up bigger than he has?!?! Jason is actually a classmate of mine from my hometown in New Jersey. I've followed him lightly on social media platforms through his culinary journey from birth of his unfathomable determination and skill to break out on his own - a self taught Chef running a full service catering company. Encompassing Private and Personal dining experiences in the luxury of your private home or event space, Chef Jason brings not only his complete professionalism, but also a mind blowing culinary exploration of perfectly balanced ingredients that not only touch each of your five senses, but envokes a feeling of complete bliss. Each dish is thought out with culinary precision and executed beautifully. You can taste each ingredient as it rolls around your mouth and tongue. Balanced with the simplicity of what brought this dish to concept. This culinary journey his menu takes you on is unreal. I have never worked for or with a more talented Chef, who's personal energy is calm and humble, and confident not cocky. We had a dinner party to celebrate a birthday and a divorce with 9 close friends. Chef Jason, his Sous Chef June, and our lovely servers Karl and Cara really made this evening special. Everything flowed seamlessly. Any anxiety I had walked out the door as soon as this team went to work. It was a quiet calm and focused energy. They also didn't mind me being in the kitchen watching and tasting and asking a million questions. I can not recommend enough Jason's Kitchen for your next event. Exceptional! My now-husband and I were searching for chefs to cater our small, intimate wedding of 13 people in our home. We found Jason on Yelp and from his first friendly email and sample menu, we knew it was a perfect fit. Thank you, Yelp! It is not hyperbole when I tell you that Jason's Kitchen is some of the best food you will ever eat. Jason and June are phenomenal chefs; to eat their Michelin Star-worthy food in your own home feels like a decadent privilege reserved for royalty. A few of our favorite dishes were the yellowtail crudo (to die for), tuna tartare (floated up to heaven), mini french onion soup bites (became reincarnated), burrata salad (was reborn), paella (lived a full other life), and rack of lamb with pesto sauce (found enlightenment). They worked with attentiveness, diligence, and grace, but what was most impressive was the down-to-earth, calm, and good-natured attitude throughout the night. The spectacular food AND their presence was truly an amazing addition to our day. Special shout-out to Jason for being a fellow Petty fan. The server, Marybeth, and the bartender, Anthony, carried the same good-natured, relaxed, and kind presence. Marybeth was gracious and friendly, and I swear my kitchen was cleaner at the end of the night than before. I only had a vacuum and small dustpan and brush on-hand and Marybeth used that little brush to clean everything because she didn't want to disturb us with too much noise with the vacuum. The small things! Anthony prepared copious amounts of cocktails with a smile and a good laugh throughout the day and evening. The drinks were as smooth as his pours and I am fairly certain every family member personally bonded with him in a way that I wouldn't be surprised if he is invited to another family wedding. Or a golf match. Overall, my husband and I agree that Jason's Kitchen was the best decision we made on that day, as well as deciding to spend our lives together. I'm now scheming other events we can have just to work with Jason's Kitchen again. 1 month wedding anniversary? And then again for our 2 months? Jason, we'll be in touch. In all seriousness, I would like to extend the most heartfelt thank you to this team. We are beyond grateful for your help to make our day the most special. I'll admit, a small part of the reason is because I keep my apartment very cold and really love soups. The primary reason though is that I found an executive chef who is a culinary genius that will cater and deliver phenomenal gourmet food directly to my door at very reasonable prices. This was one of the best original soups that I've tasted in a very long while. A great thick, creamy texture, good heat (without being too spicy), and you could taste the flavor of the ingredients, not just get overwhelmed by the red pepper. The taste and texture worked in perfect concert together, just like the cream and the red pepper. I've been paying ten bucks a quart for deli-quality soups during this quarantine. This was certainly in a much different class of quality, for the same exact price. Once people catch on to this amazing value, I'll likely end up paying far more for the same caliber of cuisine. However, supporting a well-deserving and hardworking small business with an honest and positive is more important to me than saving a little money. By the way, in addition to his well-honed, epicurean chops, Chef Sebastian is also a real sweetheart of a guy. I know a lot of great chefs and they're not all...oh, what's a good euphemism to use here? As good at dealing with people as they are with knives. Well, Chef Sebastian is wonderful with both. A true professional and a good person. Alright, now let me review some more of his food. In the late 1990s, I lived in New Orleans. So, I definitely know a thing or two about great-tasting cornbread. Chef Sebastian makes excellent cornbread. Not too crumbly, but also not sticky. There's nice pieces of whole corn and little pieces of jalapenos inside. Remember, I'm not a big fan of spicy, but this cornbread was perfect. Not too spicy and it was pre-cut into small squares for me and filled an entire sizeable container. I've eaten a few pieces with 4 meals already and I still have leftovers. His portions are immense. That goes double for the Slow Smoked Beer Marinated Local Shortrib ($27 with corn and cornbread). I've never been given that much shortrib in a single portion intended for one person. I LOVE his homemade BBQ sauce so much that I used it abundantly, put the shortribs in potato roll buns and served them up similar to pulled pork sandwiches, only these were far better because they were beer marinated shortribs. There was enough for 4.5 overstuffed sandwiches. My executive chef friend ate one, along with a piece of cornbread, and was extremely impressed with both as well. The Smoked Whole Trout ($14) was actually a bit overwhelming. Even with my big appetite, I certainly couldn't finish it. It's an entire large cooked trout. For $14 and hand delivered to your door by the chef himself? Where else will you get that type of value? Nowhere! Certainly not near Port Washington, where I live. I ate half of the fish the first day that the food arrived because obviously it's seafood. Although, I did decide to sneak Chef S's New Jersey grilled corn on the cob into this meal, even though it really came to compliment another dish. I didn't want to wait though. The fish was cooked nicely and traveled very well. A nice thickness, easy to cut the meat away, and just a nice smokey flavor throughout. However, I avoided the recommended horseradish sauce that came with it because I was in the mood for more of a fish flavor. I wasn't disappointed. The corn was tasty too. The 24 Hour Slow Smoked BBQ Pork Shoulder ($21 with corn and cornbread) was another massive creation. Once again, I had leftovers. You can taste the time it took to cook this. Completely fall off-the-bone type of dish and so savory. Extremely tender and also beautifully complimented by Chef's homeade BBQ sauce. Honestly, that stuff could go with anything. It's delicious. Local Jersey Peach Crisp with Homemade Whipped Cream ($7). My favorite dessert from anywhere this month. It's a giant piece made for 2 people, as long as one of them isn't me. LOL. I devoured about 3/4 of it because it was so incredible. Thin fresh peach slices with a deliciously sugary crust. This dessert could start an addiction. Just before writing this paragraph I polished off the remaining 1/4 piece left in my fridge. By the way, his food and containers keep very well. The food is delicious, but the portions are huge! Pickle Spears ($8). These are smaller sized pickle spears. However, there's enough of them to fill the jar and they're obviously pickled that way to provide much more surface area and access to the flavors of Chef's special blend of peppers and seasonings. They're very good. If you like pickles, you'll totally like these. Lots of flavors: garlic, peppers, mustard seeds, and some others. Be careful though, these bite back. Everything is PERFECT!

Chef Scott is a former restaurant chef, and you can tell. We had done a tasting with a different caterer first and it didn't hold a candle to Chef Cava. Many people told us that this was the best wedding food they'd ever had by a mile. Particularly standouts were the beef tenderloin (perfectly cooked), the market fish arrabiata (we had halibut, it was SUPER fresh and the sauce was spectacular), and the homemade pasta genovese (great for the vegetarians in the crowd). We did family style, which is a great option that a lot of caterers don't offer as it allows people to take as much as they want of each dish without having to stand in a buffet line. All the passed hors d'oeuvres were fabulous as well. Chef Scott is extremely responsive to the many little questions that come up during the planning process, and worked seamlessly with our coordinator to make our wedding day a breeze.
