Never have I ever been more disappointed... that Yelp doesn't let users give more than 5 stars. Because Jason's Kitchen deserves at least 100. My now-husband and I were searching for chefs to cater our small, intimate wedding of 13 people in our home. We found Jason on Yelp and from his first friendly email and sample menu, we knew it was a perfect fit. Thank you, Yelp! It is not hyperbole when I tell you that Jason's Kitchen is some of the best food you will ever eat. Jason and June are phenomenal chefs; to eat their Michelin Star-worthy food in your own home feels like a decadent privilege reserved for royalty. A few of our favorite dishes were the yellowtail crudo (to die for), tuna tartare (floated up to heaven), mini french onion soup bites (became reincarnated), burrata salad (was reborn), paella (lived a full other life), and rack of lamb with pesto sauce (found enlightenment). They worked with attentiveness, diligence, and grace, but what was most impressive was the down-to-earth, calm, and good-natured attitude throughout the night. The spectacular food AND their presence was truly an amazing addition to our day. Special shout-out to Jason for being a fellow Petty fan. The server, Marybeth, and the bartender, Anthony, carried the same good-natured, relaxed, and kind presence. Marybeth was gracious and friendly, and I swear my kitchen was cleaner at the end of the night than before. I only had a vacuum and small dustpan and brush on-hand and Marybeth used that little brush to clean everything because she didn't want to disturb us with too much noise with the vacuum. The small things! Anthony prepared copious amounts of cocktails with a smile and a good laugh throughout the day and evening. The drinks were as smooth as his pours and I am fairly certain every family member personally bonded with him in a way that I wouldn't be surprised if he is invited to another family wedding. Or a golf match. Overall, my husband and I agree that Jason's Kitchen was the best decision we made on that day, as well as deciding to spend our lives together. I'm now scheming other events we can have just to work with Jason's Kitchen again. 1 month wedding anniversary? And then again for our 2 months? Jason, we'll be in touch. We had Jason come to our home and cook for 8 of us for my wife's 40th. The food was absolutely amazing...every single course!! The gnocchi was the best pasta I've ever tasted. I've never had pork chops as delicious and it was cooked to perfection. He was a pleasure to work with and such a nice guy. He had a server Denise who was just as enjoyable to be around. We hired Jason's Kitchen for our recent backyard wedding, and the food and service were absolutely top notch. We and our guests were completely blown away by not only the taste of all the incredible food, but also with the presentation of it. Food = A+ And the service - wow, A++! Jason, his fellow chef, and their servers actually felt more like friends/guests of our wedding, than staff. They were so friendly and helpful, I can't even put it into words properly. A few quick examples - they watched and played with our dog while preparing the excellent food, and they made sure that our older/less mobile guests were brought every cocktail hour plate option directly. My fiancé and I were looking for a caterer in short order- with only a week lead time. Chef Jason was great on the phone with us. Right away he discussed different options that might work and sent us options for a menu and a quote. Based on our discussion with him, his pricing and after seeing photos of his food on Instagram, we knew we had to go with Jason! He and his sous chef, Sam, showed up about 2 and a half hours before guests were due to arrive to begin prepping. He also had two servers, Alisa and Elisa, and one bartender, Russ, help out for our party of 45 people. The staff were all phenomenal. The food was AMAZING. We had roast rack of lamb and pork ragu as our mains, with sides of roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. Passed apps included tuna tartare, burrata bruschetta, and paella croquettes. I had the pleasure of hiring Jason and his team to cater a small corporate event this past spring. What really stood out was the unique, interesting menu options which were very different than the more standard offerings of other caterers we considered. The short rib, gruyere and onion grilled cheese was a standout, as was the hot sausage/pimento cheese/pepper jelly combo that I have since made for myself many times. Jason was so easy to work with and defined the perfect menu with spectacular ingredients, flavors and presentation, all within our budget. On the night of the event, Jason showed up promptly and was the perfect addition to our evening - friendly, professional and so much fun! He started us off with a large charcuterie assortment with a selection of his favorite meats and cheeses from purveyors in NY. From there we moved to a plated appetizer of tuna crudo with blood orange, pistachios and herbs. The flavors were so incredibly fresh, complex and delicious. For our final course we opted to go family style. Jason found some beautiful aged steaks for us which he paired with a smokey potato-cauliflower mash and roasted brussels sprouts. Celebrating my husband's 65th birthday with an intimate party of close friends and family, Jason and his sous chef came on time and totally prepared. They were professional, warm and friendly to all our guests. His timing of food and serving was impeccable. I bet you want to know about the food. Well, all I can say, is the cheese and meat boards were top quality. His homemade hummus was the best any of us ever tasted (and this was a hummus crowd). We were serving rolling tapas and one was more tasteful and exquisite than the next. Freshest fish for sushi prepared with a light spicy mayo, mmmm. We rolled into a Sunday sauce served on mini banquettes toasted lightly. Heavenly. Now we get 2 different quesadillas, chicken and steak. (I would have thought this was an old family recipe). Oh, wait, we have just begun. Decadent grilled cheese sandwiches with carmelized onion, to die for! Finishing off with the grand finale: sliders made with meat that everyone went crazy for: short rib, brisket and chuck...absolutely heavenly. As an aside, I ran out of ice and cranberry juice. His sous chef offered to slip out quietly and pick up these items for me. No one knew she left or that I messed up. My faux pas was undetected.
