Terrible experience with these guys! Absolutely do not for any reason bring any of your toys here. Bunch of crooks run this place! Just moved to Cochrane and brought my Yamaha Warrior in to replace a leaking fuel line previously diagnosed from a reputable mechanic from Destination Cycle out in Airdrie (I should have just brought it back there). I was initially quoted around $450 from the mechanic out of Mountain Toys just down the street from Bow Ridge to replace the fuel line and complete a general spring service i.e. plugs, filters, fluids, check the brakes.... Those sorts of things. Wayne told me yeah no problem leave it with us we will be right around there and won't do anything that's doesn't need doing. All was good up until this point.... I get a call about a week later. Looks like you could use a battery, and I agree. Let's tack that on.... Another $120 or so +/- gst. I then get a call last Friday. My bike is ready for pickup, so I head down to pick my bike up. Oh and I forgot to mention when I dropped my bike off it was running perfectly with no issues (minus that fuel line leak) I just did the maintenance preventatively. Anyways! They had it stored out back, chatted with one of the guys working out back whom I assume was the mechanic. I asked if the fuel leak was all good and repaired he said oh yeah! Like new again. So I fired it up and started heading home, and about the bottom of the hill heading up toward fireside check engine light came on. Then as I was driving up the hill the bike started to bogging down and then it died halfway up the hill. I pushed it the rest of the way home. When I got home I checked and fluids to make sure they were even changed and they seemed to be but the smell of fuel was very potent and after a while started dripping from beneath my tank again. Leak was not in fact fixed and now the bike had a new check engine light, turn signal didn't work and gas light was also on even though it had lots of fuel. I was away for some days and went back into their shop on the following Tuesday to tell them what had happened, hoping for some accountability. But was met by some rude smug asshole sitting behind a computer, I believe his name was Dane or Dwayne or something like that. He barely acknowledges my existence and he clicked away on the computer and answered phone calls as I spoke with him. Truly one of the least professional people I have ever dealt with in ANY shop I have ever been too. After explaining everything to him he says they could take a look but it would be at my cost and their mechanic costs about $177 an hour. I said excuse me. I brought you a good working bike with a slight fuel leak and I got back a broken bike still with a fuel leak, oh and get this! They charged me $850 for the service and repairs. I figured after the battery it would be around $575 maybe. Anyways lesson learned! Hopefully this will help someone else out before they get scammed like I did. I now have to get a real mechanic to fix whatever it is they messed up causing all these issues. I will NEVER bring any of my toys here and will never support or purchase a single thing from this shop. STAY AWAY!!!! I will tell all my friends and all my family to stay away like the plague! Odd operation. Wife made an appointment to view a used boat and advised we could arrange a test drive. Boat was not serviced ready to test anything. After four requests to arrange a test drive I received absolutely no response. I see numerous negative reviews in respect to both sales and service. Perhaps I should direct my search elsewhere. read more

I think I was a pretty time consuming client as I was importing boat to U.S. and had a ton of questions and requested videos... honestly I think I would have been annoyed with myself! Do not sell your unit on consignment with these people. Dane Bruce will send you a sweet message stating how they like to sell your unit, and promise a certain amount, and they will keep anything over and above the agreed upon amount to the owner. They have HUGE demand for these units, have sold hundreds! Sounds great right? I mean, you'd think a business that sells atv's for a living would know the market, pricing, demand etc? Wrong. We agreed on an amount for my side x side that would be paid to me after they sell it, with a "guaranteed sale within 3 months", and a promise to pay me the pre-agreed upon amount (in writing). I did not get a signed copy of this agreement in return, despite asking on numerous occasions. FYI the driver arrived to pick up my unit about 4 hrs late. 3 months later, having been told multiple times that there was no interest/offers, and that it was priced way too high (Dane Bruce sets the price), the price needed to be lowered, and of course my pre agreed upon amount needed to be lowered too so they could keep their margin. All of this despite a written agreement stating what amount (guaranteed) they would pay me. I would not have agreed to let them take my unit 3.5 hrs away (Ft Sask to Cochrane) had the amount been any lower, could sell it myself. Dane lowered the price at least 3 times, and after I refused to lower my amount, he proceeds to send me a list of "comparables" to try and justify why the price for my unit should be lowered. Every single one of these comparables were not comparables at all.... base units, no power steering, smaller engines, less hp, narrower trail versions with base/inferior suspension, out of province units etc trying to justify his BS. I sent him a list of 6 "actual" comparable units back, including 2 from his own inventory that were priced significantly higher (1 identical unit, 1 inferior - that he refused to answer as to why). I finally told the guy I'm tired of his BS, if it's not sold within 2 weeks I'm coming to pick it up. Dane replied with "if you refuse to lower your amount, you may as well come and pick it up now". So I did the 7 hour round trip and picked it up the next day. Where was Dane Bruce? Nowhere to be seen. Not only is this business clueless about current market pricing, they are clueless about the product they sell. This is nothing but a sham business, specializing in unprofessional, ignorant deceitful BS to make their dollar, all while clearly misleading you, the consignor. Judging by all the negative reviews, can only imagine how the rest of their business activities are handled. STAY AWAY. read more

This is going to be a long one. I am sure there will be many updates. (JAY FOX was good, it's unfortunate that he is lumped into this with the owner Dane Bruce) The first thing I said to JF was, this is the hardest question I am going to ask you, "why are your reviews so bad?" He said they don't really look at the reviews very much as they would rather satisfy the people that go into the store. Ok...I guess. My wife and I went in to look at a boat on April 8th. We saw one we liked but I didn't want to buy the first boat I looked at. As I walked out my wife asked me if I am going to be mad if the boat gets sold. I said if it is sold then it wasn't meant to be. I called after the long weekend and JF told me the boat was sold. Someone came in right after we left and decided that was the boat for them. For the next 3 days I was looking at boats from VCR - WPG and comparing it to the Chaparral that I missed out on. Wednesday morning I contacted JF and he said he had a few new boats that just came in but they are not presentable yet as they haven't been gone through. I told him that I would come by in a little bit. I went down and as normal, JF was fantastic to deal with and was really solution oriented. He is a sales guy but I believe he was truthful with his opinions on the boats we looked at, he has been doing this a long time. I didn't want to "lose" on another boat so I decided to put $1000 deposit down with the understanding it was refundable on a 2007 Four Winns H200. I put it on my Visa and immediately afterwards it was, when are you coming back to finish the payment? DB needs to know this for cash flow. Well, apparently it isn't that easy because when you want your money back and haven't signed anything to finalize the purchase good luck! JF called me Saturday morning April 15 to follow-up on the deposit. I was honest with him and told him that I am going another route as I found something that is the same price but I am not "settling". He tried to get me to commit to the boat with him, which I respect, he is a salesman and doesn't want to lose out on a potential sale, that is his job. I told him that I was eating breakfast and I would call him. I called him back 20mins later and we discussed it further but I told him that there was no chance of me changing my mind. He made a comment something like, DB isn't going to be happy and it might be tough to get your deposit it back. I got a little heated right away and made the comment then I guess I will need to get my lawyer involved. JF said no, no that isn't what I am saying. I asked him to put me through to DB and he said no, he is the sales manager and it is his job to talk to DB and promised me a call back by 4pm on Saturday April 15th. Guess what? No phone call! Weird, right? April 17th, I called JF but got no answer. I found DB's number and called him and he said that JF never told him that I wanted out. They are quick to answer EVERY call prior to this but now it is selective since I want my money back. DB offered me an in store credit for $1000 and I passive aggressively declined. I said I will only take the money back in the same form that I paid it, which is on my visa. DB said that he has to talk to JF but he isn't in today. He said that this is the first he has heard of me no longer wanting that boat. I don't know for sure, but I call BS. DB said that it would take him 48hours to get back to me on a decision since he needs to talk to JF about it. I said I would appreciate a face to face meeting to rectify this but he declined. DB needed to wait for JF to get back in the office and would call me Wednesday April 19th, which is 48hrs. I told DB that since I have the vin/serial number I will be going to the registry office to put a lien on the boat. As soon as I mentioned that he went silent on his end and didn't respond to anything else I mentioned. I hope your experience is better than mine, reviews don't lie. Jay has been good, hands are probably tied. Used car sales people have a bad rep and this doesn't help it. read more

I took my snowmobile here after having issues with it bogging while under full throttle. it was diagnosed as being an injector that had failed open and supposedly took out the engine. $4,000 in warranty work later they replaced the cylinder, pistons, injectors. they phoned me to tell me to come pick up my sled and that everything was covered under warranty. I paid my deductible and picked up my sled on a Wednesday. I took it out that same weekend, got 1/2 way up the  trail and the lower coolant hose that connects to the motor underneath the Y-pipe blew off spraying coolant everywhere. (4 hours later i finally got the hose clamp back on and got it back to the truck.) I purchased coolant in town and bled the system so i was able to ride the next day. the following day i took it out again only to find my exact same problem that the dealer claimed to have fixed was still there. this was on a Sunday, i phoned Phil on Monday and explained that they did not properly install the motor, and additionally the motor work they did didn't solve my bogging issue. Phil wouldn't even admit fault or apologize for the missed hose clamp. Instead he told me that BRP was denying my warranty and that now the issue was actually my ECM because it had been tuned. He told me i was likely on the hook for this $4,000 bill that i was already given paperwork for 5 days earlier that said my sled was covered under warranty.  (I later found out by contacting BRP that my sled didn't have a tune in the ECM, and instead Bow ridge submitted the Computer files for a different machine and that was the issue.) as it turns out i still have full warranty Phil explained to me that i would have to pay for a new ECM and that would for sure fix my issue. i did not trust their work at this point so i took it to a different dealer. At this point i was not aware that i still had warranty but i took it to them to get a second opinion. I explained my issue and within 20 minutes of dropping it off they had diagnosed it as a fuel pump. I was able to take it out and ride it the same day and it ran flawless. Zero bog issues that i had  prior to this. They covered everything under warranty and sent me on my way. Not only did Bowridge deny that they didn't install the motor correctly, they wouldn't pay for the coolant i had to purchase while out of town to fix there mistake. In addition to this they didn't even try to contact me to tell me my warranty was actually not Void and they had just made a mistake. Had i decided to take it back to bowridge, they would have charged me for an ECM and sent me out the door and i would have still had the same issue with my machine. There is a reason that BRP dropped this place as a Dealer. i was very disappointed in the way they handled this situation from start to finish. BRP ended up issuing me a credit for all the hassle i went through dealing with Bowridge. read more

Exceptionally Disappointed. Called to have specific service work done (Mercury outboard motor re-jetted for our altitude from sea level). Talked to a knowledgable person, he said they they used to be a Mercury Dealer and they had the parts, it was a three hour job. They were really busy so I had to book three weeks out. On the day of the appointment, I called to confirm before dropping my boat off... The person that I talked to had worked there for six years and had no idea what the work I wanted done was or why I would want it done. He told me they couldn't even get the parts for my motor... they don't even service Mercury any more. After looking in his book, he told me I was only booked in for a tune up (which is not what I asked for originally). Waited three weeks for this!?!? Wow. Would not trust this outfit. Sounds like they could have some good people from talking to the first person, but it also sounds like they have some real pieces of work working for them from talking to the second person. read more

Go somewhere else. The service staff doesn't show they care about their client. I took my snowmobile there for a tuneup and a few repairs. They were never able to tell me when my snowmobile would be ready. They finally called me to tell me that it was ready and that I could come pick it up and then when I came to pick it up they told me I had a broken spring. Didn't even call me to let me know this spring was broken so I had to leave my snowmobile there for one more week. The service guy even said I called you but you didn't call me back, such BS, he never called me. I wait another week and I come to pick up my snowmobile and the pull cord that they fixed broke again so I have to wait one hour for them to fix it. I am never going back there again and I suggest you don't either. read more

This summer we had some trouble with our boat (used not from Bow Ridge) and ended up with water completely throughout the motor. I tried fixing it but couldn't get it to run. So I took it into the guys at Bow ridge. They had it all tuned up and running better than before! Even with short notice and during the busy season they fit us in and had it done in a couple days, so we could head back down to the lake and never lost a weekend. Thanks! Jason and crew! read more
