They said the battery was looking a little puny, but not bad ... but the alternator must be shot. Want to buy one now? My wife is as smart as she is good looking (that is to say: very very), so she hired me to take it to a mechanic. Since we only own Toyotas, we don't HAVE a mechanic - the cars just don't need 'em. But there's 150k miles on the van. Thinking we need to find a good shop for future use that isn't the competent-but-expensive dealer. So I looked at Yelp, talked to a few friends, polled a couple of other sites and decided on Larry's. Larry did some sleuthing and decided that my battery isn't quite puny, yet not quite new, either - but not time for a new one. And the alternator is FINE. Don't get me wrong - AZ is great in its place, but so glad we got a second, more learned opinion. Larry's shop cleaned the battery terminals and the throttle body and did a couple of other possibly-related things. He said all that stuff was related to remedying whatever was behind the check-engine code, but couldn't guarantee for absolute sure he'd solved the problem. He said the code isn't critical and probably not even useful for my trim level and engine, and his little tweaks likely solved the problem. But we should keep an eyebone peeled for future flashes. And since my visit, no more check engine light, even for a sec. Believe I win. $60. And peace of mind. And I got to play tug-o-war with his dog. Wins all around. Go there.

To make a long story short, we approved what was needed to fix the oil leak and the catalytic converter they said was needed. $4800 was quoted and paid when they completed the repair. About four months later we were back for the oil leak which had gotten much worse. They claimed they replaced something related to the oil filter connection. At this point we lost all confidence in their company and we went to the Honda dealership. After hearing Honda's $9,000 bid to fix, we decided to buy a new car and end this nightmare. Christian Brothers should have been honest with us and advised us to not fix this car and buy a new one. They care more for their profits than they do customers. If I could give zero stars, I would have.

Everything is new, clean, and does not look like a typical customer lounge. My husband even noticed and complimented the service mgr, Devin. Hubby settled into a comfortable chair and browsed one of the books on the table (about highlights of the SEC). Next to the Keurig coffee area is a large window that overlooks the service area. I sat on a stool at the bar in front of the window and watched the technicians at work. CBA provides a complimentary inspection with pictures and video of the car, as well as a detailed report of the condition of the various parts of the car. Wow! The techs were thorough and their uniforms were still clean in the afternoon! Hmmm. Maybe they change if theirs are dirty? After payment for my new battery and its installation, Devin had a yummy surprise for us. Never have we had such a great experience at an automotive shop! (They also have a shop in Hampton Cove owned by the same person and an affiliated shop in Madison.) I guarantee that you will become a loyal customer - just like us!

The kindness, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail stood out from the beginning. They thoroughly checked everything and worked hard to provide the best options for my repairs while keeping me in constant communication about the progress. I had visited three different shops and received three different quotes for the same service and parts. After reading previous Google reviews, I decided to give Meineke a try--and I am so glad I did. Adam and his team are phenomenal. As a senior citizen, it means a great deal to know there are still honest, hardworking people who truly care about their customers. I never felt pressured or misled about unnecessary repairs. Instead, I felt informed, respected, and at ease throughout the entire process. Even though I haven't been in the Huntsville area long, I can confidently say I have found my go-to auto repair shop for future services and repairs. I am grateful for the excellent service and will definitely return as a loyal customer. Meineke Store #2755--you all truly rock!

On Friday, 10-24-25, I took my car to have an oil change at meineke in South Huntsville location. When my wife arrived to pick it up, she noticed a large crack on the passenger side of the windshield. I immediately brought it to the technician's attention, and he called the manager, Logan (Anthony), back to inspect the damage. Once Logan came back into the shop, he took pictures of the damage and said he would contact me back the next day for a resolution. I waited until 4 p.m. the next day and had to call him myself. He claimed to have reviewed the footage and said "nothing happened," suggesting the crack occurred after the car was parked outside, facing a highway, and therefore they would not be take responsibility and would do nothing even though the car was in their custody. Additionally, they forgot to put the "oil change" sticker on the windshield, a small detail that says a lot about their lack of care and attention... I then requested the corporate number, which he said he didn't have, and would get back to me, which also did not happen yet. I later emailed Meineke corporate, only to be told that the locations are "independently owned and operated," and they couldn't do anything either. Translating to that being my problem after all, even though the damage occurred during the time the car was in their custody. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed by their lack of accountability and professionalism. If this is how they handle a and a relatively minor issue, I can't imagine trusting them with anything more serious.

I was told it would not be a problem but that they couldn't do it that day, which was fine. He suggested that I might want to try the Madison location on Friday or I could come in on Saturday. I made an appointment for Friday in Madison, only to be told on arrival that they could not honor that appointment and that I'd have to leave the car until the next day if I wanted a forty minute service performed, even though my appointment was an hour and a half before closing and I was fifteen minutes early. I left Madison QUITE displeased but it would get far worse on Saturday. I took my car back to the south Parkway location, checked in with no problems, gave them the sheet with my alignment specs and went to the waiting room, where I sat for forty minutes before a "tech" comes in and tells me he would only set the car to factory specs. So instead of telling me up front that they didn't want to do it they wasted another hour of my time! Abysmal customer service by both locations. In the end the alignment isn't even the issue here, the issue is Pep Boys needs to decide what their company policy is and train their advisors so that they can communicate this to customers so that they can make an informed decision, so that a customer doesn't waste a couple of hours over the space of three days trying to have a simple service performed. I wouldn't be writing this review if I'd been accurately advised of my options up front. After this I'll be hard pressed to do business with Pep Boys in the future and I'll be sure to share my story at every opportunity. Before anyone assumes that there is something exotic or dangerous about these alignment specs, the last time I had the car at Hiley Mazda and the tech there offered to set it to those specs before I told him what I wanted. These specs were developed by well-known Mazda specialists and the Mazda dealership has no problem whatsoever using these specs.

But when I got in my vehicle and drove away I noticed that my tires were not filled to the proper psi (which they had stated they had checked and filled on the report). What's worse is that the tpms sensor was on and a red alert was on one tire that was over 8 psi below normal. And when I went back in to tell them about it the woman at the front said "the tire pressure gauge may need to be reset" and then the guy asked me what pressure I wanted to fill it to. The front girl doubled down to the guy filling my tire that the sensors may need to be reset. But the sensors are pretty quick to update. I can watch it change psi within seconds of being filled. But wait that's not it. I noticed that the tire pressure was the same per tire as it was before I got there and so I asked "did y'all rotate the tires?" The guy said "yes ma'am " but in the same breath said the spare tires pressure was at 28 psi. For reference the tires are supposed to be at 37 for factory setting. So in that moment I knew without a doubt they did not do their damn jobs at all. It's not cool to waste peoples time and money but even worse safety. Shame on you guys. I hate doing reviews but this one was very much needed. I cannot stand lazy auto repair people. This job is important for not only my vehicle and safety but also everyone else on the road. After a…read morethorough inspection I was told that the tire had been damaged by a three inch screw in the sidewall and could not be repaired. Also that it is recommended that all four tires be replaced since I drive a high performance vehicle. I was given a quote and informed that the tires would have to be ordered. The manager, Eric said that the car would be ready the next day. At 5:30pm on the 21st (the next day) I had not yet received a text or phone call stating that my car was ready. I called Tire Discounters and I was told that the technician was having difficulties mounting the low profile tires, but that the car would be ready that evening. When we arrived it was raining and the technician was "trying to clean my car up" according to Eric. It was very dark in the parking lot so it was impossible to determine what was being "cleaned up". I paid $2,997 for four low profile tires, installation and balancing. Because we had an out of town engagement we left the next morning without inspecting the car. When we arrived at home four days later and pulled the car out of the garage we found that it had mustard yellow "mounting paste" all over the driver side door, window, door handle, front quarter panel, rear quarter panel and driver's window. When I opened the door there was the same mustard yellow putty on the leather seats, the steering wheel, the console and the hand stitched leather dash board on the driver's side. I was furious. I immediately washed my car. Note: the car sits four inches off the ground and cannot be run through an automated car wash. Simple car wash detergent would not remove the putty. I washed the car again. In total I had to wash the car four times and pay to have it detailed before I got all of the putty off. I called Tire Discounters to speak to Eric and was told that he was with a customer. He did not return my call. Upon finalizing my bill for the tires, I was given a certificate for $109 off an oil change. Today (3/20) I drove to Tire Discounters to schedule said oil change and give Eric a piece of my mind. When I walked in he was at the counter with another customer, they both had their backs to the door. My arrival was not acknowledged. Two other customers arrived. They too were not acknowledged. The customer at the counter got upset and began to sob. He then took out his phone and started showing Eric photos of a pretty, young bride on her wedding day. The man cried harder. At that point I had been waiting 20 minutes. I walked out and drove home. I am not heartless or calloused, there is a time and place for everything. , There are too many places in Huntsville to get your oil changed; to have to wait for personal drama to unfold. As I drove past the front door, Eric and the distraught man came out of the showroom and walked to the north side of the building. As far as I know the other waiting customers could still be standing there. One of the other oil change shops will get my business.
