But there are definitely some hidden treasures in there if you're willing to dig a bit. He also, proclaimed to be flexible on the prices of items in the shop, and proved this as he was showing me a phonograph or two. The biggest issue I have with the shop is the condition of some of the antiques. This is definitely a place where you'll get something for a great price and will put the money you saved into restoration/repair. The owner showed me several victrola style phonographs, and all of them definitely needed some love. He also also has a backroom with a good deal of medium to large antique mantle clocks; but alot of them look like they need need a bit of love too. That being said, I did walk out with a Helen Reddy record "Helen Reddy's Greatest Hits", and a 3 piece mid century cheese/appetizer serving set that looks like it hadn't been used at all for 10 bucks. My friend walked out with a small brass (what seemed to be) Persian style shoe ashtray for 2 dollars. This is a store that I'd 100 percent stop by when I come back to Oldtown Bowie. Among the three shops, it has the most reasonably prices and a decent selection. Lots to look at!

I'm REALLY struggling with what rating to give this B…read more In fact, I might be struggling as much with this rating as my friend and I were struggling to breath and be inside this store. Treasure House is seemingly two buildings that are connected at the hip. If you enter on the right side... it's not as noticeable... but once you go to the left side; you basically can't not notice it. The smell of mildew? smoke? mold? G-d knows what is filling that room. My friend immediately had trouble breathing and started coughing in this room. It didn't hit me until I went upstairs. It is SUCH a crying shame. Cause this antique store definitely has some hidden gems. And the prices seem somewhat reasonable form what I can tell about the right side. There is an excessive amount of antique fans that are in really great condition. I mean... if you're on the hunt for a brass blade fan, you should honestly buy a respirator and start exploring. Additionally, there are a large number of old radios, victrola style record players, and general furniture. The condition of the shop is rough though. Be careful where you walk. There's also lack of prices on a good deal of the merchandise which is a bit annoying. If I ever did come back here, I'd had to stick to the right side of the shop. And I really hope that the owner can get whatever that awful smell is under control and the air quality in general. I'd love to take some of those antiques off his hands.

The owner was very friendly and the prices were good. He even offered me a free clock case when I mentioned a free library project I was working on. I will definitely be going back. OK now for the caveat: When I sat chock a block I really mean it. This place is VERY cluttered and the aisles are narrow making navigation a challenge. Also it is extremely musty. Like walking into a cellar musty. So if you have breathing issues, I would suggest not going in. But if you can handle the musty smell and are looking for a bargain, it is worth a try.

I used that as an opportunity to visit, and I got to explore the rest of the store. They're located in that random giant industrial area that runs alongside Route 1 on the side where the train tracks are. It can definitely be easy to miss, and parking in the lot itself is quite limited. The adjacent street allows parking too, but sheesh it gets crowded. The vintage store is bigger than it may appear from the outside, and there's truly a LOT to sort through. Furniture, trinkets, pillows... you name it, they have it. There were some small tables and stools that almost found a home with me, but I was like... where am I going to put these things?! My kitchen is already being to be overloaded, and I rather not have that same energy rippling through the rest of the house. I ended up seeing this beautiful and vintage black and gold highball and shaker set that fit my bar / living room space really well, and I couldn't resist. I haven't been back in a while, but I'm sure if I returned I'd find something else neat. We'll see!
