My friends and I were looking for a restaurant in Polanco for dinner. We were looking at the menu and the host, Ruben Lopez, gave us a tour of the restaurant and we decided to stay because of how kind he was. Im glad we did because this made our trip to Mexico City so amazing! The drinks and food were all presented so beautifully and were delicious. The service was also top notch as Ruben gave us so information about all the dishes and was so patient with us. We got to sit on the patio on the second floor and it was a great day to people watch and enjoy a nice dinner. Being from LA, this place beats a lot of the fine dining steakhouses I've been to. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting or local. read more

Very accommodating to my handicapped spouse. Attentive. For starters, we had empanadas, guacamole,and lobster bisque. We ordered variations of sirloin, ribeye, and filet mignon. My only complaint is they are unable to hit the mark on medium temperature. Medium rare and rare variations are spot on. The French fries were a bit under seasoned. We came here to celebrate the end of 2021!! What a cute restaurant! It's decorated with 2022 celebrations and holiday lights. We were lucky to secure a table on the New Year's Eve! The evening started out with complimentary bread. We actually loved their bread very much! Excellent way to start out the evening with couple of drinks too. The cocktail drinks are light and refreshing. The grilled octopus unfortunately was underwhelming. It's overcooked so the octopus was too hard on the outside. The dish was oily, not sure from the potatoes or the octopus. It's seasoned okay but I was expecting a lot more because that is one of the most popular dishes here. The potatoes were surprisingly delicious. It was seasoned very well. The outside is crispy but soft inside. The surf and turf Puerto Madero was pricey but worth the money! The prime tenderloin was great! Perfectly aged and cooked. This was the best item of the evening. The lobster was great as well, but the meat was a bit dry. It could have been better in my opinion. Came here to have a business meeting with Pavel Pardo and they did not disappoint. Steak portions were massive, their potatoes were to die for as they make them in a unique way. My experience here was a 10/10 and definitely recommend anyone to go here for a good steak. read more

We first visited puerto madero in Cancun. Amazing everything to say the least. This time around we wanted to tey the CDMX Polanco location, the drinks are good, the food is ok. We had the BlueFin tuna tartar and shashimi the fish was fishy not sushi quítalo tú to sell as sashimi or even as a tartar it was a let down for sure. The empanadas are hood but way better in Cancun, my wife had the Filet I had the Seabass both were good but the food could be way better. The inconsistency of both restaurants is bad for business we will mot visit this location again. WOW loved the food here. They serve Argentinian food here. The decor shows that this is a higher end restaurant located in a pretty nice area. Server here speaks some English and its also nice that they have menu in English. We ordered for appetizer empanadas and that was pretty good. Loved the chim churri sauce that went with it. Then I got a rib-eye steak. It was served on a sizzling grill pan. I had it medium rare which was nicely cooked. Meat was very tender. For sides we got asparagus and potatoes to share. To my surprise the potatoes looked like puffs. I had an ice tea for drinks and that was pretty nice. i got the mate tea. I was told it will be bitter but it wasn't bitter at all. I liked it. Amazing food, service and ambiance. We each had a steak. The tenderloin was definitely better than the ribeye. We also had the madero salad and it was also a highlight of the meal! Me and my sister walked in to have some appetizers and drinks since we were not that hungry at 2pm, we ended up staying 4 hours by the small table by the window next to the bar, all the employees were very friendly and polite, from the beginning all the way to the end. I had a few mezcal Negronis and my sister had a few 400 grados, we also shared some beef and fish empanadas, some chorizos, and carpaccio de atún (my favorite), and some camarones al ajillo (my less favorite). January 10th , my husband, daughter and I decided to come from the US to Mexico City for a vacation and we stayed in the Polanco neighborhood. We went to the Anthropology Museum that morning. On the way back we decided to walk through the restaurant area in Polanco and we saw an Argentine restaurant so we decided to eat there, but before entering I mentioned to my husband and daughter that perhaps they would discriminate against us because my husband was dressed. He was in shorts, athletic shoes, a collared shirt, and his back pack on his back because we had just came from the museum. When we arrived, the host immediately took us to the upper level where there were no customers, it was completely alone, and having tables on the first floor available I asked him why he had not offered us to sit there and he rudely responded "why didn't you ask but if you want I'll take you there", and when I went downstairs I told him look, you have Several tables available here and I asked for the patio but of course he offered me the last table near the cash register without much of a view. At this point my daughter saw me annoyed because I wanted the view of the main street and she told me that it was fine,and out of respect to her, I no longer insisted. My daughter said how pitiful that was. Mind you it should be noted that we have lived in the Bay Area in California for over 40 years and never in our lives have we been discriminated against anywhere. We are business people and my daughter is an Immigration Attorney. After we ordered, the supervisor asked me if everything was ok but I preferred to relax a bit because of the situation we had been through and we ordered the Argentine chorizo which had a terrible smell, the lettuce had a lot of salt, my husband who ordered the shrimp was also super salty but what put it over the top was that the green sauce had a hair in it and that's when I asked the waiter to speak to the supervisor. The supervisor very kindly apologized and offered us a dessert, BUT THE DAMAGE WAS ALREADY DONE. Never in my life did I think that we would be discriminated against by my own people and in my own Country. SUGGESTION FOR THE OWNERS, if you care so much how well dressed the customers should be, then put a sign with your dress code. Cuando llegamos ala recepción el joven que nos atendió nos llevó de inmediato ala terraza donde no había ningún cliente estaba completamente solo, y habiendo mesas en el primer piso disponibles le pregunte que porque no nos había ofrecido sentarnos en las mesas del primer piso y su respuesta fue de mala manera "porqué ustedes no lo pidieron pero si quieren los llevo para allá." Al bajar la escalera le dije mira tienes varias mesas disponibles y le pedi en el patio pero por supuesto me ofreció la ultima mesa cerca dela caja registradora sin mayor vista y mi hija me vió molesta por que yo quería la vista ala avenida principal y ella me dijo esta bien, y por respeto a mi hija ya no insistí. Mi hija me decía que pena, cabe recalcar que tenemos viviendo 40 años en la Area de la Bahia de California y nunca en la vida nos an discriminado en ningún lugar, somos personas de negocios y mi hija Abogada en Inmigracion. Cuando pedimos la orden de comida el supervisor me pregunto si todo estaba bien pero preferí relajarme un poco por la situación que habíamos pasado. Pedimos la orden de el chorizo argentino que Tenia mal olor, la lechuga con mucha sal, la orden de mi esposo que pidió camarones tambien súper salada y solamente se comió los camarones, Y la salsa verde tenia un pelo y ahí fue cuando le pedi al mesero hablar con el supervisor. The place is nice and cozy. A little dark but very nice place for an evening, a romantic date or just craving for meat! ( thinking in food ) But you can always find someone else from work ;) There are two floors. I like better the first one. You can also sit at the bar where service Wil be faster. They usually get crowded so better make reservations. Everything we ordered was really tasty. Meat cuts are their speciality. Try ordering a glass of wine so you can have the whole experience. Service was good but it can get slow if there's too many people. They have valet parking so you don't have to worry about a parking spot. But you can always leave your car in front in a parking lot but is also managed by valet. read more

We were looking for a nice restaurant that we didn't have to dress up at since we packed poorly. Our hotel concierge recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Drinks: They have some creative cocktails on the menu. We had a Chram-Mule which was a Moscow mule with lemon and cranberry juice (we think). We also had a gin cocktail which was closer to a G&T with orange slices. Appetizers: we had a single empanada. They had 3 options that weren't on the menu; we chose the crab one. I described it as a crab pot pie while my husband said it tasted like crab and it was delicious. Dinner: We ordered the Wagyu prime rib, Whole Fish Puerto for one and the potato special. The wagyu was okay but I probably wouldn't recommend getting it. It was certainly tasty but we've had better. The Whole Fish Puerto for one was a grilled grouper (I think). The presentation of both was wonderful. The fish came out sizzling on a cast iron plate. It was described in the menu as a whole fish so I expected a literal whole fish - fins, tail, eyeballs, the WHOLE fish. It was actually two fish fillets, which I was also okay with. The potato special reminded us of potato chips. They were also okay but we likely would opt for something else next time. Dessert: we were full so we had already asked for our check then surprise! Happy Birthday slice of cake. It came out with a sparkler and we were certainly surprised. The chocolate cake was very rich and seemed to have a condensed milk around the plate. Price wise - it's pricey. After the conversion rate to USD, it was about $150 in total. Service - fantastic. They appreciated our business and were ready to serve us. All 4 us order steaks and only 1 came.. rest didn't show up until the first person already finished and we ask about our fish . They serve the salad and only offer 4 person out of 5. Ok, I've been here twice now for dinner and the first time it was excellent. The second time was soso. The first time I had the AW tenderloin and the Argentinian salad both were excellent and made to perfection. The cocktails were good, we opted for raspberry lemon drops polanco style. So, the next night we came on a Sunday and since Cabana (my fav) was closed we came me again. I had the brochette and the Argentinian salad, the salad was good the first time so I ordered again. This salad is enough for 2-3 ppl FYI. The brochette was awful and super chewy and Luke warm. The salad was off. Flavor and presentation was vastly different than the last visit. Service was slow and clunky. It was a Sunday after all and that's a tough day generally for restaurants but I was turned off this time and couldn't wait to leave. I've been to Cancun location and one other and I will say this Polanco location is far better when it comes to service. For desert, the kids had ice cream and we shared a "Panqueque de Dulce de Leche" (crepes stuffed with dulce de leche, topped with raw sugar and pecans) and a carajillo (espresso with 43 liquor on ice). Puerto Madero was warm and inviting. The ambiance was bustling, but comfortable. My sister and I came for dinner on a Sunday night and we were sat immediately with no reservation. The waiters were attentive with seating, refilling our breadbasket and clearing the table. We do not speak much Spanish, but our waiter was able to speak English which was super helpful. Mexico has a great way of elevating restaurant customer service to an art form, and this place is no different. From the moment you are led to your table, expect to be catered to by a full wait staff. During our visit, I recall having at least 5 different people assisting us to make sure our time there was great. That said, this place is a classic steakhouse and seafood restaurant. The steaks were well seasoned, and cooked perfectly to order. The ceviche was fresh, light, and very tasty. Wine (as I found throughout DF) was overpriced, but you can usually find a bottle or two (out of a full menu of wines) that are acceptably priced. A word to the wise, the portions are large, even by American standards. In the end, our eyes were much bigger than our stomachs and we ordered way too much food. Being that it was vacation, where carrying a doggie bag around for sightseeing just wouldn't do, we had to leave it behind. What a shame! read more

The 3 waiters that were assisting us completely vanished. It was very disappointing as it was not the way I expected to end what was originally a good experience. I guess they decided it was time for us to leave; as no deserts or after drink cocktails were offered. After finally being able to wave someone down, I was already too dissatisfied to spend another peso in this place.
