We came here because the reviews (at the time of this post) on Google were 4.6 and 3.8 on Yelp…read more First thing to note is that the parking is in the back on the building. The place has a rustic Middle Eastern vibe but it's not kept well. The table we first got had food stains on the table cloth and a dirty fur coat on the wall. We decided to move to a different table. I saw food on other tables as well. The owner spent most of the time in the back talking to someone than waiting on us. We didn't get silverware until the main course and never got water. I went to the fridge in the front after our meal was done because we were tired of waiting and thirsty. The falafel is the best thing that we had. It was fresh but a bit oil. It had a nice crunch to it and the flavor profile was good. The sauce with it was average but good. The mixed grilled platter was underwhelming. The best meat was the lamb. There wasn't much flavor in the chicken and the other meat was too dry. I think the veggies were a bit too chard for my liking. The shawarma was not that great. It seamed as if it was chicken chunks and not the properly cooked. The flavor was not great either. There's nothing given as a side or sauce. There's bottles of ketchup on the tables but they looked not too appealing to use. Instead of napkins, you get Kleenex. While the food can be good. I would recommend ordering takeout from here. As a small business I wish nothing but the best and hope the owner cleans up the place more and improves the customer service.

First he welcomed us with free middle eastern coffee called karak. Its dark black coffee with cardamom. We ordered the lamb kabob platter , hammus and pita bread. The food is delicious, hearty ,freshly made and authentic. And then comes the generous part! He came out with generous amount of free fried chicken for my friend and for me with freshly made baba ganoush and warm fresh pita bread! Not just that, he also gave us soda for free! Such a kind man with great hospitality. Even if it wasnt for the free food, i would still rate this restaurant highest because of the delicious food and such a humble and kind owner who makes you feel at home. You must visit atleast once to experience it.

I ordered online and then went to pick up my order. Nupa is staffed by wonderful people!…read more The place is small. In terms of what it looks like, it could be the McDonald's of Greek food BUT the menu is filled with items made from fresh ingredients. The Calamari is lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned. We chose pita chips over pitas. For the additional side we chose hummus. The hummus was good but at the end of the huge meal, it was one of the things most leftover. The servings of each meal were incredibly generous. The Gyro was heaped with so much meat that I was so glad to have spent the $0.75 for extra tzaziki with the Gyro Platter. The Gyro comes with the option of adding a side with it for less than it would be if ordering a side separately, if you want grilled zucchini which had the BEST flavor! Also you could choose fries, rice, or a couple other options. The Gyro Platter comes with gyro meat and a second option. Then there are also 2 sides that you pick to go along with them. If you want additional gyro meat (OMG, most people won't be able to eat it in one sitting!) you can add it here for half the price of getting it just as a side I figured that we needed to try the Baklava. I got one piece for 2 people to share. Looking at the small piece, I probably would have ordered 2. But I am happy to have shared so I did not over-eat too much. After a few hours, the baklava insisted that I try it. The absolute GLORY that is GOOD baklava!!! It did not taste like sugary sweet corn syrup. It tasted like honey and nut and pastry... Everything the best baklava is!

Nothing fancy, just delicious Mediterranean fare. We each got gyros and caprese salad…read more This would on our regular rotation, if we lived here.

I love Beirut. It has quickly became one of my favorite local spots…read more It's great for both sit-down and takeout. Their online ordering system is super easy to use, and ordering in person is just as smooth. The menu has such a good variety, everything from fresh salads to wraps and kebab plates. Honestly, everything I've tried has been so good. The garlic sauce is a must, it's incredible. My go-to is the shawarma unwrapped because you get a huge portion and can build it exactly how you want. The food is fantastic and the portions are very generous. The space is clean with plenty of seating, and the staff is amazing. They're so friendly and always make sure you have everything you need.

Ambiance was ok - more of a diner style. Very casual. High chairs available, which was a plus for us. I got the gyro wrap and my husband got the Lebanese wrap ( not pictured). The gyro wrap was pretty good, and I loved the garlic sauce that it came with. However, the fries they came with were a bit on the soggier side - not crispy and not too much flavor. The Lebanese wrap had good flavor but it was smaller than my husband and I were expecting. It was probably half the size of my gyro wrap since it was thinner. My kids liked the grilled chicken place and rice that they had. The chicken had great flavor. The portions overall though are on the smaller side, especially when compared to restaurants in Minneapolis or St. Paul. Food was pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I liked it overall though and thought it was a fun and different option to try in the south suburbs.
