We got the lychee sunrise boba mocktail and the brown sugar boba. The boba itself was absolutely delicious. It's dipped in honey but wasn't too sweet like normal boba cooked in sugar. The texture was soft and bouncy and had just the right amount of chew to it. This honestly rivals the bigger chains like Tiger sugar or Xing fu in terms of boba. The lychee sunrise is very refreshing and would be amazing on a hot day. It does runs on a little bit of the sweet side granted I get sweetened out easily. The brown sugar was a perfect balance and had a rich taste. The owners are very friendly and passionate. Given how great the boba was, I would definitely come back to try the food!
The food was great here! We came from California tired and hungry after a long day of travel, and was pleasantly surprised with authentic Taiwanese food that tasted like my grandparent's cooking. The service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly. Hopefully I'll get chance to come back again.
Newly opened bubble tea and dessert store, surprisingly in Garfield, serving Taiwanese drinks, desserts, shaved ice and small bites. There are bunch of tables to dine-in and lots of take out visitors as well. The store owner Chloe is energetic welcoming, had lots of conversation with us and helped us to pick lots of items to order. We got the strawberry shaved ice, that was huge bowl with one scoop of ice cream. We got some complementary toppings, thanks to Chloe. It was an excellent shaved ice dish. We ordered couple drinks, popcorn chicken, beef noodle soup and TW sausage. All of them were made very nicely. Taste wide they were fine. I'd preferred the popcorn chicken to be cooked little bit more, for it have darker fried skin. The store is nice and comfy in general. There are free street parking in front and around the store. We will surely return for more treats here.
Authentic Taiwanese food and drink. Service is great! Chloe is very nice and go thru the menu with us. Boba is coated with honey, sweet and good texture. You can customize the ice and sugar level (we have Boba Milk Tea, Boba black tea). Strawberry milk shaved ice has lots ingredients. This is more Americanized flavor. They have other shaved ice options that have more Taiwanese flavor (red beans, boba etc). marinated tofu with rice and braised beef with rice are good. Strong flavor. Good portion. Reasonable price. Popcorn chicken is ok for me. I like it more crispy but it's not bad. Overall 5/5. I will recommend this place to friends and family!
We stopped here on a Sunday night for a quick bite to eat with the kids. There is street parking but it's hard to come by so keep that in mind during peak times. We ordered 2 peach oolong teas with honey boba for the kids, I got the Lavender Milk Tea with Honey Boba and my husband ordered the Taro Milk Tea with Honey Boba. The teas were delicious and authentic - also not overwhelmingly sweet. For apps, we ordered the popcorn chicken with the Sweet Plum seasoning, 2 orders of spring rolls and shrimp and cabbage homemade dumplings. My favorite were the dumplings - the dipping sauce was flavorful too. The popcorn chicken was a hit with the kids and the plum seasoning was interesting. For mains, we ordered 2 soup wide noodle bowls - one with braised beef and the other with minced pork with a side of marinated egg for each. I loved the flavor on the beef but the minced pork in soup was not the best flavor profile. I think I'll try the pork belly next time. We were so full after dinner that we had to skip dessert but will definitely come back to try!
Wonderful spot in Garfield. I got a lavender milk tea with boba which was perfectly delicious. The lavender was not powerful nor lacking. My husband got an early milk tea and enjoyed it. My son got one of the mocktails and enjoyed it a lot. We got an two orders of popcorn chicken: one with curry and other with salt/pepper. It was okay, not a five due to mostly being dark meat, would have been better other type but that's my own preference. The staff (I think they were the owner?) Was amazing. Reviewed what some items were, was great with our son, and overall a great person making the ambiance pleasant. Highly recommend.
Good solid Taiwanese boba/shaved ice joint that also serves classic bento-style savory dishes. The restaurant has an eclectic cafe vibe to it. They have a few tables for dine in customers, but I suspect most of their patrons are of the takeout variety. I came here on a weekday for lunch and got a couple of baos, a beef noodle soup, a braised chicken over rice, and a bubble tea. All in all I think the food was good. It's important to keep in mind that this is not a full scale restaurant. While the drinks and desserts and made to order, there's not a chef in the kitchen cooking up the savory dishes from scratch. As I said, they're more like bento style. So the food is likely prepared beforehand and then heated up and served. The owner was super nice and checked in all us regularly. Prices are reasonable and there's ample street parking around the restaurant.
Service was great! The woman working was the owner, she's super sweet and nice. Seemed to be a new business that opened and it was her dream to open a shop like this. My husband and I went to try it out because we do love Taiwanese styled food/snacks. Food was good. I recommend any of the rice dishes. The popcorn chicken wasn't really what we had in Taiwan, but it was seasoned w. Seemed more like the Korean popcorn chicken bought from costco. The boba in my drink was a still a bit hard, but the drink itself tasted good good. There's a big variety and the owner is incredibly helpful. Can't wait to see how this business grows. Very cute inside!
The food doesn't taste authentic, not horrible, just not authentic. Popcorn chicken had a chicken nuggets consistency, too much batter, authentic Taiwanese popcorn chicken is lightly battered and comes with basil. The pork belly bao was incredibly small, like 1/4 of the bun; come on, how can you charge so much for this (see photo attached)

It has been so humid lately, and with that came a desire to Taiwanese red bean ice. After a quick search, I found this place. It was a bit of a drive but totally worth it. The owners were so kind and gave some great suggestions. The red bean ice was cool and refreshing, with QQ boba mixed it. This was such a lively dish with that scoop of caramel-drizzled vanilla ice cream on top. But loving my Taipei street stall options, I ordered the Taiwanese sausage on white rice. The rice was soft and fragrant, pairing nicely with the savory, juicy sausage. It knew there was no way I could finish both, but it was seriously hard to stop. It had slices of pickled daikon softly steamed broccoli. Definitely coming back soon so I can try everything on the menu. read more

Stopped by for a midday snack while I was in the area. Grabbed a honey green tea with boba and a taiwanese sausage while I was there. Walking in, it is your typical hole in the wall, locally-owned asian snack shop, with a extensive sweets menu hanging on the wall, as well as a photo book for more popular menu items to see exactly what you are ordering. There is kpop playing in the background, and plenty of seating available for a mainstreet shop, with 4 tables that can each seat 4 and a couch as well. Service was about what you would expect for 1 person working the counter, but the worker was very friendly. The boba itself was very well made, nice and chewy and still warm so you can tell it is fresh. The taiwanese sausage was a tad on the saltier side, but had a good umami flavor and a crispy skin. Street parking was limited for weekday lunch break time and no parking lot available just for the restaurant. Stop by if you are in the area for a cheap snack or to sit and chat with a friend! read more

These Taiwanese street-style foods are delicious. You do not need to return to Taiwan to get street food here. The Young couple came from Hong Kong and Taiwan; they worked hard to get their food right. We were here around 12 p.m. The street has ample parking and is close to the light rail to Hobokon. This is a great, cozy restaurant. Bring your family here, and they will enjoy some great Taiwanese food and Boba Milk tea. The shaved ice is an excellent choice for the hot summer. I will come back and enjoy them again. read more

Cute store on the main street! Lots of seating and huuuge menu. I'm definitely coming back again for other lunch menu items!! Went in real quick for a hot bubble tea and a snack (got pork and leek dumplings). The oolong milk tea is really good! Boba is cooked to a perfect texture, warm and chewy. I also tried with with the QQ jelly which has a different texture - herbal tasting and slightly crunchy(?) its a nice difference. The oolong tea itself is really good without it being too sweet! The owner was taking orders and she is lovely and super friendly. read more
Delicious! I ordered the beef brisket soup with knife cut noodles. The meal was full of flavor. The meat was very soft, I've never experienced it this soft. The portions were also very generous. I washed it down with milk tea bubble tea. The boba is made fresh with a hint of honey taste. I got it with 30% sweetness level but you can adjust according to your preference. The owner was very nice and patient with the questions that I had. One huge plus is they provide different broths according to the order. For example, beef brisket soup comes with beef bone broth, chicken soup comes with chicken broth, vegetable soup comes with vegetable broth, pork soup comes with pork broth. Not too many places do that. Looking forward to going back and trying other menu items. Highly recommend! read more

Love to see that there is a Taiwanese place in this part of town now! Also, it's awesome that they actually have oolong milk tea which isn't as common around here. The bubbles were soft and chewy. They have taro topping and it's actual taro, not made with powder like most spots! As for the food, I got the minced pork rice bowl, Taiwanese sausage over rice, shrimp cabbage dumplings, and pork belly bao. For the minced pork, the flavor was great but I think it needs a little more sauce in the take out bowls. As for the Taiwanese sausage, I like that they added some minced pork & sauce on top. I think it would've tasted even better if there were a few slices of raw garlic in there. I also got the shrimp & cabbage dumplings which had whole pieces of shrimp and was delicious. The pork belly bao was huge and very flavorful! Overall, I'm so happy to see a Taiwanese spot in this area and I would definitely go back again! I can't wait to go back in the winter to try the obanyaki. The service was phenomenal and the lady was extremely welcoming (I didn't get her name). read more

Authentic Taiwanese street foods are surprisingly found in an unexpected town. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Immediate connections were built as we all came from Taiwan! The beef noodle soup was very decent. You can choose from different types of noodles; we ordered the regular style but will def try with the knife shaved one next time, that'll be even more authentic! The Taiwanese sausage rice bowl was delicious! Pork belly was decent as well; both came with vegetables and pickled radish (marinated egg is an extra charge). Popcorn chicken has different flavors to choose from. We chose curry powder popcorn chicken with hot chili sauce on the side. If wanna have a real Taiwanese taste, try the plum powder, which we'll def try next time. But honestly, my personal preference would still be the original five spice flavors with fried basil :). Hopefully they'll add that to the menu in the future. Pulled pork bun was a very interesting combination, West meets East. The portion was fairly large. I was full after combining with a bubble tea. We also ordered original bubble tea and an Oreo aura milk tea with bubbles (extra charge). Bubbles were chewy with honey taste and you could taste and smell the aroma of Assam tea. Overall it was a great experience, we all left with satisfying stomach and smiley faces. Only one down part if I have to be picky, if they can change the rice to the round white rice instead of jasmine rice, as jasmine rice tends to be more soft and lacking in texture, it'll be perfect! For sure we'll revisit this cute place to indulge in authentic Taiwanese food again! read more

Came here with my boyfriend after a rather disappointing lunch in Rutherford. The location has a very charming interior with a good amount of seating. Owner who was extremely friendly and running the register and gave us a rundown of the extremely unique menu. I have been to many boba places but the menu here is quite interesting and seemly very well curated. The passion fruit tea was very refreshing with a little bit of tartness to round out the flavor. The lychee summer had the same garnishes and style without the sourness. Both were great in their own way. Fresh fruit and honey pressure cooked boba accompanied both drinks. The boba was cooked all the way through, still springy and well textured. Will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. read more

I am a big supporter of mom and pop shops. While the food was on the better side it didn't knock me off my feet. One thing I was challenged by was the amount of oil in their soup. I only ordered 1 item from here for take out but as soon as I put the broth into my noodles I noticed how oily it was. I don't want to clog my arteries more than I need to. Just a footnote for the kitchen but please get rid of the oil from your broth. Drinking oil is not good for anyone's health. read more

First time trying this place and we really enjoyed it. Started out as just getting bubble tea for my daughter and her friend but we ended up staying for 3 hours! It was a great place for our 2 families to catch up. The owners were very friendly, hospitable and generous. The kids got the popcorn chicken and fries and my daughter had the shrimp tempura bao. I had the spicy beef bao and dry knife cut noodle bowl. I loved the chewiness of the noodles!! My husband and his friend got the noodle soup and really enjoyed it. Of course the kids couldn't leave without getting dessert! They ordered the chocolate shaved ice and the strawberry hotpot shaved ice!! It came with an abundance of toppings and definitely far exceeded my sugar allowance for her! lol. Lastly, the adults enjoyed some 'mock tails' while the kids played heads up. Tasty food, great service, big portion and allergy friendly food. (Kids have sesame, dairy, eggs and nuts allergy). We ordered Braised Beef with rice, Braised Beef with noodles, Pork Belly with noodles, all delicious. For our drinks, we ordered Lychee Sunshine with Boba, Coffee jelly (complimentary from the owner) and Mango slush with boba and popping boba. Kids loved it. Owner is attentive and friendly.
