I came to this spot craving bingsu. My usual place was packed, so this cafe served as a wonderful alternative. The bingsu itself was very satisfying and executed perfectly. We shared the dessert, and it was served almost instantly. That kind of speed is truly appreciated when you have a specific craving, and I left the cafe completely content with my choice. The Ambiance: Smooth and Relaxing The atmosphere here provides a much smoother and more relaxing experience than other high-traffic dessert locations. The cafe has a great flow; while people still come and go, it is never packed for hours. It offers a tranquil setting that allows patrons to enjoy their treats without feeling overwhelmed or rushed. The Service: Quick and Efficient The efficiency of the service was a highlight. Our bingsu was delivered almost instantly, which speaks to the staff's attentiveness and quick preparation. The service helped maintain the easygoing, yet efficient, pace of the cafe, making the whole visit pleasant. In summary, this is a top-tier option for superb, quickly-served desserts in a comfortable, relaxed environment. This place is great if you're looking for simple no frill bingsu. My parents loved it here as it reminded them of bingsu you can get in Korea, which normally is just shaved ice and red bean. We got the black sesame bingsu and it was a little messy with the black sesame dripping form all over the sides but it was so good. It came with red bean and mochi on the inside. We ended up getting two large and it was perfect to split amongst 6 people who love bingsu -- we thought we might have to fight over it lol. I'll definitely be back and try the taiyaki also next time!
There wasn't much of a wait before getting the two large bingus our group ordered. The was plenty of space and some seating available for larger groups of ~6 people. I personally liked the Soybean Bingsu flavor a little more than the Black Sesame, but the soybean didn't have much flavor before someone in the group asked for more powder. The bingus were truly gigantic.
Got the black sesame milk shaved ice in medium size. This flavor was not offered in small. The medium size was pretty big and would probably be good for a party of 3 or 4. The black sesame flavor was delicious and they were very generous with the amount of black sesame sauce poured on top. It did get very messy and a lot of sauce ended up dripping onto the table. The inside had red bean and mochi. The red bean was sweet and tasty. The shaved ice itself was so so soft. Super refreshing treat to have during the summer time!! Would definitely recommend to others.
The bingsu was very large, enough for 3-4 people, I'd imagine. It was almost $27. I don't know if this bingsu comes in other sizes but I wouldn't know because the guy at the counter offered no help, greeting or anything. When I first came, I ordered a regular cheesecake bingsu and the guy entered my order but when I looked down, there was a little sign that said "strawberry cheesecake" in English with the rest in Korean, so I said, "No, wait". The look on this man's face... I thought he wanted to strangle at me. He looked at me, rolled his eyes, sighed exasperatedly while hitting his hand on the counter and staring upset at the ipad to change my order. Maybe he was having a bad day? I'm not sure but damn... what a reaction. I needed to ask if there was strawberry cheesecake bingsu because nearly everything is written in Korean and I can't read it. I wasn't sure if "strawberry cheesecake" meant they only had strawberry cheesecake or strawberry cheesecake bingsu as well. Anyhoo, all-in-all, maybe I would come back but only if someone else wanted to go. The bingsu was ok. The cheesecake was dry somehow but the bingsu was nice. The tables were dirty, as well as the seats, and the service left much more to be desired.
Visiting from CT Came here for their shaved iced in the evening time. Person working the register was wicked rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. We also got the Peach Iced Tea and Pink Lemonade which was pretty good but they didn't have Taro/Thai Milk Tea. We got the Milk Saved Ice and it was good. Would not recommend simply due to poor service. Food wasn't worth it honestly.
Great location with comfortable, cozy seating and casual ambiance inside. They are known for their desserts such as shaved ice and red bean or custard-filled fish. They also offer other pastries such as cookies, cakes, and even wrapped kimbap on the go. Those are best if eaten there or brought home but will consume fairly quickly. They offer beverages ranging from homebrew coffee, pour-overs, cold brews, teas, and bubble tea. Their coffee is quite good but at times, depending on who is making it, it can be very strong. We have experienced their cold brew, pour-over, homebrew, and latte. The most consistent one was their homebrew. We had ordered the Black Sesame Bingsu on several occasions and were never disappointed. This one is made from milk ice instead of water ice, making this dessert more creamy and decadent. Our snow-shaven mountain contained toasted almonds, black sesame, red bean, and Korean rice cake. We also had their taiyaki in both red beans and custard. They make it fresh after you order so expect a maximum of a 20-minute wait. A must-go-to for desserts or coffee if you are in the neighborhood.
The cafe was nice a cozy guest were quiet and the atmosphere was def chill. I came here with my family and we devoured that bingsoo like it was our last meal after eating bbq. It was super light and overly sweet. I like that because I don't have a sweet tooth. Deff recommended getting bingsoo here never had such fluffy snow like bingsoo.
Really cute coffee/dessert shop serving up Korean delicacies. We got the black sesame shaved ice, super refreshing on this hot day, bursting with creamy sesame /tahini vibes. At the bottom there was red bean which was a nice surprise. Also got the sweet potato cheesecake which was very savory.

Amazing red bean taiyaki! I wish the bingsu had more matcha syrup and mochi but overall the bingsu tastes sweet because it's shaved condensed milk. Overall very young crowd at night but delicious dessert place! read more
Great bingsoo! There's a fair amount of competition for cafes in the area, but my local friends mentioned that this one is one of their faves. The bingsoo options are all great - they come out large and fluffy with generous fillings. My favorite is the black sesame bingsoo, which has a delicious milk ice base topped with a nutty black sesame drizzle. Refreshingly cool and not too sweet. The medium size is great to share between ~3 people. I also tried the coffee and it was decent. Nice little cafe overall! read more

I like the texture of the shaved ice but there's limited flavors for you to choose from such as milk, cheescake, black sesame, and soybean. They use to have greentea and mocha but apparently they don't have those flavors for over a year now. read more

I know the bingsoo is a hit here, but the taiyakis are one of the best finds. Made to order, our red bean taiyaki came hot and fresh off the griddle. With gooey mochi and sweet adzuki red bean paste inside, and a light buttery exterior, the pastry was such a treat. For only $2.99, this is definitely one of the best deals to be found at Cafe Mocha. In contrast, a small green tea bingsoo is over $10, while a medium black sesame bingsoo is over $15...I'm sure the bingsoo is good, possibly great, as some other reviewers claim, but the taiyaki certainly satisfied our sweet tooth for much less. Cafe Mocha seems to be quite the local hangout spot--nearly every table was occupied on a random Wednesday afternoon. read more
One of the Best patbungsoo around. The snowy fluffy bingos is the best. The traditional milk one is my favorite. Decent amount of red bean and mochi in there. No longer can get extra red bean for free unfortunately. Easily share between four people. read more

For coffee only Ordered an iced Americano and obviously, even though the shop is called "cafe mocha", the espresso based drink was disgusting. Don't come for the coffee. I believe they are known for their shaved iced dishes. read more
Cute atmosphere. The service didn't stand out to me. I got the medium-sized melon bingsoo. It had melon on the outside and inside got mochi. It is really good. It seems like the melon is just syrup. I do want to try another flavor next time. You get a lot. I was initially unimpressed because it felt like it was more ice and syrup with some fruit, but finding the mochi in the center definitely made me much happier. read more

TLDR: Cheesecake Bingsoo is a MUST-TRY dessert. Nutella Taiyaki is wonderful, as it's straight off the griddle; make sure to eat it from the tail side first. No bathroom due to pandemic. 30 min limit to eat inside cafe, but doesn't seem to be strictly enforced. I've been going to Cafe Mocha for about 5-6 years now, and it still remains victorious as my favorite dessert spot in NJ! I've had their Milk, Mocha, Black Sesame, Cheesecake, and Earl Grey Milk Tea bingsoos, but the Cheesecake Bingsoo is by far the best bingsoo I've EVER had (even among the bingsoos I've had in Korea). The Cheesecake Bingsoo is an indescribable delicacy with its wonderfully creamy texture, scrumptious cheesecake bites, and golden strings of syrupy drizzle--a must have if you're ever in the area! The Earl Grey Milk Tea Bingsoo is a summer seasonal item, I believe, and it's a close second. It comes with mochi, almonds, and tapioca pearls as toppings; the taste of the earl grey is a bit muted in my opinion, but I definitely prefer my food with more intense flavor. I most recently had the Mocha Bingsoo, and one of its most redeeming qualities is the chunks of brownie scattered under the surface of crushed Oreo. The downside, however (and this applies to the Milk, Mocha, and Black Sesame bingsoos), is that the texture of the shaved ice is truly fitting of the name: ICE. If you prefer a more creamy consistency, I recommend going with a different flavor. The intensity of the taste is also lacking in my opinion, but again, I prefer more intense flavors. I also always get the Nutella Taiyaki whenever I go, and you really can't go wrong with it. It's especially good because the taiyaki comes right off the griddle--it's the perfect compliment to your icy bingsoo! Pro tip (potentially controversial haha): eat from the tail side first; that way, your last couple of bites are full of nutella. I also used to get their Lychee and Milk Tea bubble teas often before COVID-19. Considering that Cafe Mocha isn't exclusively a bubble tea store, the quality of their bubble tea isn't bad: good pearl texture, decent tea but only in slush form as far as I know. The cashiers have never been the friendliest, but they get the job done and act within the boundaries of basic manners. Two things to note: 1. The single bathroom that the cafe has is closed due to the pandemic, which could be a source of worry if you're having a drink or bingsoo. 2. There's a 30 minute limit for eating inside the cafe due to the pandemic, but my friend and I stayed for ~1 hour and didn't get asked to leave. Perhaps it's only applicable if there are lots of customers in the cafe. read more

The best bingsoo place I've been to. It was definitely worth drive close to 3 hours to try this place. It's a quiet little cafe with cute aesthetic. There's a lot of different options. It's mostly all self-service so you have to make sure you are listening for your ticket number. We were suprirsed by the portion. It's HUGE! We split it between 4 people and still had leftovers (granted we were full from lunch). The bingsoo could easily been split between 4-6 people. We got the black sesame bingsoo. Strong black sesame flavor. Not too sweet. Perfect treat! read more

Meh, $22 bingso medium size. - expensive but ok, maybe inflation. Plastic spoon and paper bowl - terrible experience. This bingso sucks. Experience is even worse. Bingso here basically is a finely grounded ice with sugar. What makes this worse is the experience. No music, plastic spoon, paper bowl. Man.... Im shocked. read more

Yummy! We were greeted right when we came in and walked to the counter to order. The menu is a little busy to read but we decided to order a medium black sesame milk ice since the green tea was sold out. We also ordered a custard taiyaki and were told it takes about 10min to make. We really enjoyed everything. My favorite part was the mochi surprise in the middle of the ice. Overall a little pricey but a great experience. It does get loud and there should be a better method of calling food out instead of screaming out orders. read more
we were super excited to try their bingsoo but many of their flavors were out sadly. We settled on the injeolmi bingsoo which is soybean powder. The serving size is huge for sure! Besides ordering, everything else is self served. So help yourself to any seat! The bingsoo came with mochi and red bean but it's buried in the middle so it's hard to find. The injeolmi flavor is really just milk/plain bingsoo with powder sprinkled over it. I can't say I'm a fan. The powder is really dry and has a nutty flavor. The bingsoo itself without the powder is just plain ice with a hint of sweetness. For $18, I really expected better. But that could be on me for choosing a bad flavor but half the menu was out! read more

I think I have been to Cafe Mocha just to fulfill my cravings at least once a month! I have no doubt the other bingsoos are great but I just have a thing with the black sesame bingsoo. I just get the same thing every time I go there. Hence the reason why I have same pictures The best thing about this place is that they make the bingsoo all year long!! A danger alert right there. I am here once a month... The sad thing is they start making it at 11am, so make sure you are there after that time. My craving once day was so bad i was there at 10:30am. I waited 30 minutes but it was worth it!! Q. Would you go back? A. Is that even a question? I will be here once a month for the rest of my life read more
Great spot for dessert and to chat with friends! For the price and quality it's a great choice. It's cozy--not too big but decent seating. I'd definitely recommend the shaved ice and taiyaki. The taiyaki is made fresh to order. The walnut red bean is my favorite--kind of reminds me of a Levain cookie. The shaved ice is milky and fresh too! It looks very impressive when they serve the bingsu. It's cute that they use English-style teapots! read more

This cafe is one of my favorites in the area. The environment is very calming and the noise level is at a perfect balance. There is bits of chatter here and there, but it is relatively not too loud. Personally, I believe that this cafe is the best place to study/work on any work you have. They have free wifi and it is not slow at all. If you're here for bingsoo (Korean shaved ice), I would recommend the Milk Bingsoo or the Early Grey Bingsoo. I think those two taste the best because it's not to sweet or too overwhelming. It is also at a perfect size to share with a couple of friends. I got the Mocha Bingsoo recently, but I didn't really like this flavor since the Mocha flavor wasn't very strong at all. If you dug into the bingsoo, you'll see some white ice because the mocha flavor didn't get to the inside of the bingsoo. So only the outer layers of the bingsoo had mocha flavor. There were brownies and Oreo crumbs as toppings which was nice, but it made the bingsoo taste more like a chocolate flavored bingsoo rather than a mocha one. Overall, I love this place a lot and studying here especially during finals season. I will probably never order the Mocha Bingsoo ever again, but I I'll definitely get the Milk or Earl Grey Bingsoo again. read more
