Over the phone, I clearly explained what I was seeking, and upon arrival, I also mentioned an additional issue, which the mechanic said he'd check. When I returned to pick up my car, the price was within my budget and I was ready to proceed, until I asked about the second issue. That's when the tone of the conversation completely changed. I believe this shop could benefit from having a designated receptionist. Expecting mechanics to also handle front-desk communication is too much, and not everyone who is skilled at fixing cars is equally good at handling customers. When I asked about the additional issue, the mechanic told me he wouldn't look into it further unless I confirmed I'd be getting the additional services, because he didn't want to "waste his time." I found that surprising since I had already agreed to pay $135 for the initial analysis, which was supposed to be waived if I proceeded with the repairs. The conversation escalated even though I remained calm, and ultimately, he said he'd "rather put on the hose and you take the car." After a two-hour wait, I left disappointed that my concerns were dismissed and the follow-up I expected never happened. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. A couple of months back, maybe six months or so I bought a used 2012 suburban. About two months…read moreinto having my car it started having some mechanical issues and I took it back to the dealer and they referred me to a local mechanic shop (Hometown Tire). Turns out my warranty company that I bought with the car wasn't so great and didn't pay for a lot of the repair. Fast forward to a few weeks ago about (6 months) my car started making the very same sound as before and went through the process of breaking down much quicker to the point where my engine completely stopped and would no longer work. When we took it to a dealership they said that we need a new engine and the warranty company wouldn't pay for it because they had already sent the supposed parts to be fixed the first time around. (Which was not true) I decided to call Hometown tire and speak with the owner, Brad and let him know my situation and get some clarity on what exactly it was they did to fix my car. From the moment I spoke with him I think he could tell that I was drained and upset about my vehicle and before the conversation was over he made me understand clearly that he was on my side and he wanted to do as much as he could to help me get out of the situation that I was in. not only did he hear my story he is working with the dealer who sold me the vehicle and they decided to step up and the dealer bought me an engine for my vehicle, had it shipped out here. So then Brad (hometown tire)also stepped up and is and they're replacing the engine for me free of charge. FOLKS HE IS LITERALLY TAKING MY ENGINE OUT AND PUTTING ANOTHER ONE IN FREE OF CHARGE!!!!! Brad reminded me that he's about helping people and that it was the christian thing to do. I was speechless. Never in my life have I experienced such a thing. I went in and was greeted warmly, Brad was extremely welcoming and clearly takes great care of all his customers. I was only there for about 25 minutes while they replaced my tire. The interior is also beautiful--very clean, comfy seating, and plenty of refreshments and magazines. My car turned out great, overall grade-A experience!
