They didn't waste any time and communicated every step of the way. Frankly, they made the IMPOSSIBLE very possible. I am amazed at how efficient they are. Moving is a very stressful endeavor a month out just getting things ready and they made it seamless. Quick, efficient and under budget... yes, under my budget. I won't name names of other movers I've used and paid 30% more for less results. I have a 15 monitor work station that I am very hesitant about anyone touching let alone moving, but these guys handled it like a breeze, especially during a rainy day on top of everything else. I don't usually write reviews, but when a company EXCEEDS my expectations, it's a duty to let others KNOW. I would want the same as well, especially with so many moving companies out there and nightmare stories. These guys are LEGIT and DESERVE their reputation as a TOP PLAYER in the moving business. Prince Movers had the initial best rate and their hourly rate was great - far less than the other companies. Plus, they were able to move us on a Saturday. Our team was Carlos, Omar, Marvin, and Rafael. They showed up exactly on time, were polite, worked well together, and kept us fully informed of everything they were doing. One thing that was great is how they took time to prepare the home for the moving process, protecting floors, stairs, and other surfaces to make sure zero damage was done. Their wrapping of items was great - you can definitely tell that they care about protecting your items. Moving is always a pain, but Prince Movers and the team were awesome from the first quote to the final hand shakes with the team. I would recommend them to anybody and I will definitely use them again.

I quickly received a call from the company offering to discount my move and send Walter Davies, a furniture repair person, out to make furniture repairs. That concern for customers and making things right earns Bookstore Movers 5-star service. Walter Davies was excellent and thorough in repairing my furniture. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

In the past, I have done a few corporate (business) moves and have a high level of expectation from professional movers. Joe Brown exceeded every expectation I had. Moving is usually very stressful for me as I am a perfectionist, but Joe and his men made the entire process incredibly smooth and worry-free. They were extremely professional, and worked quickly without cutting corners. Joe (the owner) was on the property the entire time (as he promised) and he worked alongside his men. What impressed me most was how carefully they handled everything, especially my numerous, VERY heavy and ornate pieces of Victorian furniture. Every piece of furniture and every box was treated like it was their own. They wrapped and protected items properly, loaded everything securely, and they did not damage a single thing during the move. Additionally, the entire team was friendly, extremely respectful, and clearly very experienced. They communicated well with me and with each other as a team, stayed organized, and kept everything moving efficiently from start to finish. They truly care about doing the job correctly and making their customers happy. They moved me into my elderly mother's occupied house (not an easy task) and were also very respectful of her furnishings and her wishes. Joe has a very pleasant and calming demeanor and is very responsive to email and texts during the process. He provided me with a written estimate and a written "will not exceed amount" well ahead of the move and stuck to his estimate. His business style is rather informal compared to the big, interstate van lines, which frankly worried me a little, but there was nothing to be concerned about at all. Everything went exactly as planned. If you are looking for a moving company that is reliable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to excellent service, Brown's Moving Service is the one to use. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

So I'm reverting back to my original review from July 2015 and going down one star out of principle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I used Mic's Moving last month for a local move in the area. Pros ~ Quick, prompt response with quotes. When I did the online quote I received a call from Mic almost immediately. With me being completely frazzled from the move and a major project at work this made my decision easier; I went with Mic's. Speaking of being frazzled, I ended up thinking of a few more questions after I got off the phone with Mic. No problem, as he was easily accessible via email and was just as prompt and courteous with his email response. Punctual Moving Teams The day of the move the moving team showed up early and after surveying the pathways, what I had to put into storage and what was moving to my new place they got right to work. Competitive, Reasonable Pricing I was moving from one studio apartment to another studio apartment, two stops involved. I originally was quoted for a 3-person team but on the day of the move one guy called out sick so it went down to 2-people. Mic promptly applied a discount to my quote and my final price ended up being below the low-range of the quote range I was given. No bait and switch. Cons ~ I guess this really depends on the team that comes out to your place for the move. The guys sent to my apartment were nice, prompt and friendly but not as careful as I would have liked. For example, I'm used to movers wrapping my mattress in plastic before moving it onto the truck. These guys just placed it into their moving truck as is. I didn't realize this until we got to my new apartment and I saw the scuffs, dirt, and leaves my mattress had gathered from being placed up against the wall of the truck bed. Also, even though I had separated which items would go into storage and placed promient multiple highlight-colored post it notes indicating the items that would go into storage, and that I mentioned this upfront and repeated it again as they were moving --- several items still ended up in my new apartment instead of the storage unit. To their credit, however, they were apologetic about the storage item mix up. And when a part to one of my furniture pieces was missing they took time out to search their truck bed to find it. However, they left my apartment door propped open and left it up to me to reconvert everything back to the way it was before. It would've been nice if they had finished up what they started and were mindful of returning things back to the way they were instead of leaving it up to me. Bottom Line: Still worth checking them out, I sense that it really depends on the team, day, etc other factors. The team I had was still better than some other moves I've had in the past (and I've moved A LOT - probably around 30 or so times in my lifetime thus far).

Bulldog isn't the cheapest company out there, but the peace of mind was more than worth the price. It couldn't have been a better experience.

I was a little nervous about moving because this would be my first time using movers. I also needed movers who would move both mine and my fiancés apartment furniture. I was in contact with Mia throughout the entire process and she answered all my questions. It was a 3 man crew who arrived 15 min. earlier than the scheduled arrival window. They were super quick and efficient with moving all my boxes, disassembling my furniture, and wrapping my larger furniture with blankets. They then went to my fiancés apartment and was able to load everything from his place as well and get to our new apartment with all of our stuff. I did lose my step ladder and broom during the move but after calling the next day they were able to find and bring it that day. I was super appreciative of this. I would highly recommend using this company and would use in the future!

I highly recommend you look past this company and find a professional mover. I need to repeat, they are absolutely the worst! As an addendum - after arriving late, they decided to make a stop in between locations. On our 7-8 mile move they arrived 1 hour after us - we left at the SAME time. They indicated they got stuck in traffic - whereas somehow we did not.. They of course charged us for this hour.

Moving is one of those things that sounds manageable until you're surrounded by piles, half-packed bags, and stress. BoxStar was the rare moving experience that actually let me fully relax during the process. I didn't pre-pack everything neatly or clean all that much. I left my place exactly as it was, and their team came in with a real system. They packed efficiently, and it was clear they were being intentional about protecting items and keeping things organized. what I appreciated most: 1) They removed the biggest mental load: packing + logistics: I didn't have to micromanage, run around finding supplies, or constantly worry if things were being packed safely. They were proactive and steady -- the energy was calm and professional the whole time. 2) They were careful AND fast: It's one thing to be quick; it's another to be quick while still taking care of your things. They handled furniture and fragile items with attention, and the pace felt efficient without feeling chaotic. 3) The "above and beyond" part was real: When we got to my new place, they didn't just unload. They placed furniture thoughtfully and arranged boxes in a way that made sense, so I wasn't stuck moving heavy stuff around afterward. That small detail is what separates a decent moving company from a great one -- it shows they care about the customer experience, not just finishing the job. 4) Communication + professionalism The team was respectful, focused, and easy to talk to. The short version: Pros: I heard no complaints about the physical move. Cons: The pricing structure was misleading and the final cost was high. The longer story: Admittedly, I was not present for the physical move but I coordinated it and handled the payment on behalf of the person moving. I heard no reports of any issues during the move. My issue is the cost and pricing structure. I found the pricing structure to be misleading and it's completely subject to change so just when you think you are going to pay one price, something changes and you end up paying far more. I scheduled a move from a one bedroom to a two bedroom unit in the same apartment complex. There were very few items (less than 30 boxes) and only about 4 large pieces of furniture but no couch, no dining set or anything of that sort and the move still ended up costing over $500. The move took longer than two hours but it's unclear why when there were so few items and very few of them were heavy. I personally moved over a year ago from Silver Spring to Hyattsville and paid almost half this price with a different company and I had a similar amount of items to move. Again, I heard no complaints about the physical move so if you can afford it and think it's a good price, go for it. However, for me this price was a bit high for the services rendered and I would've appreciated if the pricing were clearer. I get adjusting the price based on what happens during the move i.e., if it takes longer they charge more, but the down side is that jobs will probably always take longer and there's no real way to dispute how long it takes or why. read more

A more descriptive name for this company would be BoxSUPERStar Movers. Bilguun (he said call him Bill or Billy) arrived a few minutes early on 11/15/2025 with plans to move the content of our 6500+ sf house from Fairfax 25 miles down the road to the new house in Warrenton. This 6-man moving crew were nothing short of miraculous in their deportment, their professionalism, their expertise and their work-ethic. Tirelessly, they moved our packed boxes, furniture, outdoor furniture, lawn equipment, flat screen TVs and 3 mammoth safes. All moved from the one house to the other without a.scratch, mar or dent to either of the properties. Each large item was wrapped in protective coverings and gently loaded onto the trucks. Two trucks were securely and carefully loaded. Upon arrival at the new place, each item was carefully unwrapped and placed at the location of our choosing. Day 1 had the moving crew of 6 working from 0830 arrival thru late (~2200). Having underestimated the number of ties quoted in our flat-rate move, Bilguun and 2 of the original 6 movers returned with a single truck on 11/16 to load, deliver, unload/ unpack and place the remaining items. We are extremely impressed and equally delighted with the services we received. If you have a large, complex move and want expert care given to every aspect of the move, look no further than Boxstar Movers. You won't find better or an equal. BEST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Seriously, look no further, THIS is the company to use. My husband is in the military so we move very often and have had some horror stories. BoxStar Movers lived up to and exceeded their five star reviews. Not only was the communication up front amazing, very responsive to calls and emails, but also the movers we had were incredible. Garcia, Carlos, Mask, and Guliev helped us move and we couldn't be more grateful for their professionalism, kindness, and the excellent job they did. I would use them again in a heartbeat! They showed up 30 minutes early to the job and got right to work. Note, we were texted that they were arriving early which helped us prepare as well. Our building had double booked the loading dock that day but they helped make it work so both people could move out and finish our move in a timely manner. They got to our next building exactly when they said they would despite a ton of traffic and they even beat us there! We figured out a way for them to begin moving us in before we even got there. I have not done a same day move before, but they were excellent and finished the job in a timely manner (even with a torrential rain storm). They each made the stressful experience of moving go so smoothly and made me feel more relaxed in the process. I will absolutely be using this company again. One Bedroom - 30 Boxes move I had an excellent experience with BoxStar Moving Services - I was very Impressed and Highly Recommend the company services without any hesitation. Diana, the company business manager, was very professional from the beginning; she quickly sent me a comprehensive & competitive quote and immediately submitted proof of insurability thereafter. Diana followed up with three emails and phone calls to confirm the date and time of the move and to thank me for the business. On the moving day, I received more phone calls from both Diana and the moving crew to inform me of their whereabouts and of the ETA. The crew was consisted of two young strong men, both wearing masks, and although they kept social distance, I was greeted in a very professional and polite manner. The work did not start until the actual moving contract was signed (a very good sign), they also brought with them additional packing tools and items. All my furniture was wrapped in protective blankets and everything was quickly and carefully hauled away. Not even one item was damaged during the move, the young men organized the boxes and the furniture in the new place as per my directions. I would highly recommend using BoxStar Movers! I did a lot of research on moving companies when I was planning our move from Washington, DC to Arlington, VA. I reached out to a handful of companies and I have to say that the main reason I decided on using BoxStar over the other companies was the fact that they were so quick to respond to every request or question I had for them. They were also very accommodating when I had to make some last minutes changes to our moving needs. Their prices were competitive with other companies and even though they were not the cheapest company that I found, I was willing to choose them over others because of their quality of customer service and professionalism. As for the movers, I was very pleased with Garcia and Alex who helped us with our move! They were on time, highly efficient and professional. They were also familiar with each of the apartment buildings that we moved from and into, and this was extremely helpful when it came to logistics. No hidden costs and I paid exactly what I expected. David and Werner showed up promptly at the designated time (9am). They were incredibly efficient and extremely conscientious about not damaging the building I was moving out of (It was built in the 1890s); my landlord was very appreciative of their consideration! I can say they both went above and beyond for what turned out to be a more strenuous and lengthy move than was expected. Overall, Diana in Sales and Werner and David were incredibly professional and helpful. Diana checked in with me on a regular basis, communicated some instructions to the guys about disassembling and reassembling my bed, and followed up with after the move to make sure everything went well. The guys came equipped with everything they needed: and more! Eminently prepared to tackle the one or two things that inevitably go wrong with a move. (I'm looking at you IKEA furniture.) Very professional regarding covid-19 protocol: masks at all times, social distancing. I highly recommend this moving service. Five stars! read more

I quoted about ten moving companies on Yelp, and the BoxerStar Mover manager Diana replied quickly with reasonable rates compared with others. Then they sent me a contract with a very transparent price listing, and the prices in detail were fair. The scheduled moving time on that day was 9:00 am. I saw them arrive earlier, around 8:30, and stay in the truck without calling or interruption. I went downstairs and talked to one guy (Garcia); he was friendly and nice. Garcia and Isidro started at 8:45, and they are very professional, accommodating, respectful and efficient, wrapping my furniture carefully and uploading, unloading, and organizing everything well. I'd like to say Garcia and Isidro are outstanding movers, very friendly and helpful, full of energy and treat everything carefully. The overall experience was extremely nice and no surprise price, the prices I guess are the cheapest ones in northern Virginia. I would highly recommend their service! read more

I had three wonderful men, Seiit, Dzhokhar, and Maks, come and help my husband and I move from a condo to our new house. They arrived about 10 minutes early, asked questions about what was going and staying, how we wanted furniture moved, etc., and most importantly, they asked before they used tape ( which can leave residue/strip paint). They wrapped everything securely in blankets and were very careful, and even took apart and reassembled some of our bedroom furniture. They were quick too. It took less than four hours to move from one place to the new place. The final cost wasn't bad either. I wasn't up charged on anything, no nasty surprises, and it was even cheaper than what I had estimated by about three-hundred dollars! I highly recommend BoxStar Movers after they moved us. All three men were polite, professional, friendly, and worked hard. If my family has to move again, I'm using them again. read more

I chose them to handle my move again because I really trust their work--they're always on time, always careful with my stuff, always neat, and also very attentive to details so nothing gets lost or broken during the move. BoxStar Movers is my go-to for all of my moving needs, at least 4 times to be exact and each time exceeded my expectations. It's either Diana and/or Luna who gave me an estimate and sent a detailed quote; always professional, customer service friendly and readily available to answer questions or make any move schedule changes. BoxStar Movers provided the best cross-state moving experience we've ever had! We had to delay our move from February to June, and Diana was incredibly supportive throughout. Plus, their flat-rate pricing gave us total peace of mind. Our crew--Bay, Charles, and Sebastian--were rockstars. They arrived in NJ at 9 AM and worked tirelessly until 8 PM unloading and unpacking everything with a smile. They were polite, professional, and so efficient. My only feedback is for management: driving and doing a full three-person unpack all in one day was a massive workload for the guys. I wish the company had lodged them nearby the night before or sent a fourth person to ease the burden on such a dedicated crew. Diana and the team made our move stress-free and pleasant. We used Boxstar for a complex, multi-stop move from DC to VA on a rainy and cold day in early March. Seiit, Max, and Sebastian were terrific and made it as easy as possible- they worked efficiently, asked clarifying questions when needed, and I felt took care of our things like they would their own. Their estimated time was correct, despite some hiccups including an extremely slow building elevator. They arrived on time and brought plenty of tools for protecting our items, disassembling and reassembling beds etc. The company as a whole was also extraordinarily communicative/responsive and above-board about timing and pricing. There are probably cheaper options in the area, but the service and quality provided by Boxstar is worth every penny for the peace of mind. We'll be using them again! read more

If you are looking for a moving company whose staff and employees go above and beyond for their customers, look no further than Boxstar Moving Services. I moved one room into temporary storage, and it rained all day. My movers (Dumon? my apologies if I'm spelling that incorrectly!) were thorough, efficient, helpful and energetic. I had slightly underestimated the size of the storage unit I would need, but they were strategic and clever about using up as much of the space as they could! Fortunately, I had another storage unit close by, and they moved the last 3 items into that unit without complaint. I was in excellent hands, and when I move into my permanent home in the near future, I WILL be using their services again. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. No complaints whatsoever. read more

The management team gave me a thorough estimate and made booking simple, then provided multiple confirmations and updates. On the morning of I received text updates to let me know when the truck arrived. The crew arrived right on time and did a full walk through before they started. Eden, Eddie and Attila was friendly, efficient, hard working and thorough. They took excellent care of my belongings and were safe and thoughtful moving large furniture through tight spaces. The team of four movers was fantastic--friendly, professional, incredibly quick, and, most importantly, super careful with all my belongings. Bonus points they laughed at all my jokes. They made what could have been a stressful process so easy and seamless. This was a local move across town with one stop, and they handled everything like absolute pros. I had an extremely negative experience with this moving company. The initial estimate was $2,900, but when the job was finally done, they demanded $5,400--almost double the original quote. The move was estimated at 8 hours, but it ended up taking 15 hours, going late into the night. What made the situation worse was that I was told I had to sign and pay immediately or the workers would not be allowed to leave. This felt very pressured and unprofessional. After negotiating, I still ended up paying far more than expected. To be fair, the workers themselves were great--hard-working, polite, and respectful. However, the way the company handles pricing and payment is unacceptable, and I cannot recommend them based on this experience. read more

Great experience from start to finish. Erick responded directly and immediately to my inquiry. He accommodated day/time I needed, was efficient and prompt with paperwork, stayed in contact with confirmations and reminders of the move. On moving day my movers arrived on time and were impressive with their efficiency, time, and care of my items. They made moving day stress free and shorter than estimated. They once again did an excellent job - called in advance, arrived early, and worked very quickly and efficiently. The foreman planned well which items should be moved between the two apartments in each trip to minimize the number of trips and the work time. The team members were both friendly and professional. As with my previous move, the cost of the job came in well under the estimate due to the team's speedy work. My two experiences with NewRay have been a refreshing contrast to my experiences with other movers over the years. I plan to continue to use them for any future moves.

The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.

TJ and his team completed our recent move - a four-bedroom, four-level home - in under five hours, which was incredibly impressive. If you're moving a larger home (three bedrooms or more), I'd recommend hiring four movers instead of three. We did that for our second move, and the extra person made a noticeable difference in how quickly and smoothly everything went. I wouldn't hesitate to use ARS Movers again and highly recommend them.
