When we first came to Columbia, my daughter was already in process with her braces and so we came to Boyd as they were local to us. I returned last week to have them to look at me for some concerns I have. They treated me like I was apart of the family. There are two locations. I've experienced both. They are thorough when talking to you about your process and what to expect and when. Pricing, they are very concise and clear when talking about price. They give the Invisalign option as well. they didn't take mebserious in my request to have braces for a bad crossbite andbto widen my palette. They wanted be to get Invisalign. I feel like they wanted to brush me off bc they were also completing the consultation for my teenage daughters braces. Dr. Boyd reports that he is world renowned for his work in orthodontics. Well Let me tell you he's more renowned for greed. Last week I called to get an appointment. Told them we moved, our orthodontist in Chicago provided us the reference as the brackets, equipment, and methodology is the same that my daughter has. I was told I was going to get a call, and after a week no call. I decide to call today so we can at least get the ball moving. The young lady I spoke with was all too happy to take the information down as she thought we were new patient. (more MONEY!), but as soon as she found out that we were transferring - she stated "Due to COVID, we are not accepting transfer patients". WHAT DOES COVID have to do with TRANSFER versus NEW? I'll tell you, MORE MONEY for Dr. Boyd. I've had the BEST orthodontic experience at Boyd Orthodontics! I lived in the area temporarily and they were incredibly accommodating to help me finish my treatment while away from my home office. Dr. Boyd was attentive and new just what I needed. He is great at what he does and I was very impressed with how quickly they got a lot of work done. The staff there is incredible. They are so warm and they were so accommodating to my situation. I was able to get appointments easily and right away and the office atmosphere is wonderful. We referred to this office by my daughters Dentist. From the first appointment the staff was prompt, welcoming and knowledgeable. On our most recent visit, there was a mix up regarding which teeth needed to be sized for a bracket to be put in before the braces are put on ( not sure what it is called). The doctor notice this mistake right away and informed me of what was going on and took full responsibility and even rushed to get the bracket sized and ready to put on in the same day (something that normally takes three weeks). He even took money off of my bill. Even though we had to leave and come back later that afternoon, I was so pleased with the way the situation was handled by Dr. Boyd we weren't blown off and left to deal with the mistake, instead it was corrected expeditiously and even were financially compensated. We love this professional and clean office and we're so glad that this will be where my daughter will have her braces put on and cared for. read more

When I first came into Dr. Boyd's office I was amazed. The staff wasvery friendly. After signing in, I was called into an x-ray/examine type room. They took a few x-rays then had a conference with just Dr. Boyd, my mom, and myself. Different plans were discussed, and the next thing you know I have braces on! It didn't hurt a bit, I was just a little sore afterwards. Now, over a year later, I also have an appliance in my mouth to fix my overbite, called a herpst (I'm not really sure how to spell it). My normal orthodontist is back in California and I had a wire poking out and bothering me and Dr.Boyd and his staff were kind of enough to fix this for me. From the moment I walked in the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and made me feel welcomed. The girl who helped me was very gentle and made sure nothing was bothering me before I left. I am over 55 years old and, before I went on a whim to see Dr. Boyd, I had consulted with an orthodontist, my regular dentist and two dentists specializing in "cosmetic dentistry." All of these doctors were in the large city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. None of these specialists held the answer for me. My teeth/smile were not bad but I had never worn braces and my teeth looked older than I felt I did. I also had some visible chips and rough edges on a few front teeth. I moved to Columbia on a one-year work detail and decided I would get a consult one more time. I chose Dr. Boyd after researching and reading comments like these on-line. Now I have to join the ranks of people who said they had an amazing experience at this office. My first visit was a thorough and very exciting consultation. Before leaving, Dr. Boyd had fixed the chips and rough edges on my front teeth and I felt I looked 100 per cent better already. I went on to wear invisilign trays for the next six months, using a device called an accelerator that I had never heard of before. It will cut the time I have to wear the Invisilign braces in half. Most people I tell about the Invisilign braces I am wearing never even noticed them on my teeth. I have had excellent experiences every time I go in for my check-ups. His staff is very professional, very efficient and sweet as can be. My wait time is almost non-existent - this is important to me because I work full time. Because my detail may end before I am completely finished, he has already set me up with a professional he knows in Milwaukee who will make the final adjustments.
