After so many bad experiences with dentists, I was terrified to give it another try, but knew I had to since I had a horrible toothache from a 20 year old crown. I researched a lot and chose Boynton Laser Dental. Jody was the first I spoke to, so kind and understanding of my fear, and helpful to suggest a dental discount plan to help with the cost. I made the appt for my consultation and met Dr. Shiffman and he was fabulous! Made me so comfortable that I set the appointment to fix the crown with root canal. At the appointment, they all saw I was scared and made me feel at ease, Dr. Shiffman was gentle, explained everything and got the necessary work done in less time than I expected. Since then, I've been back 3 more times in 2 weeks to have a comprehensive exam, deep cleaning and a few cavities filled. No lie - the laser is amazing...no shots, no drilling, NO PAIN!! Maureen is amazing with her gentle hands and kind expertise and Kelly made sure I understood all the charges and wonderful to ease my fears! Initially I thought misleading me about accepting my primary insurance was something limited to Dr. Shiffman's office staff. After speaking to Dr. Shiffman about the matter, it is clear to me that the staff operates on directions from him. Instead of acknowledging that his office made a mistake, Dr. Shiffman tried to lay the blame on the insurance company, and went so far as to say because employees of insurance companies only "make $9.00/hr" they don't know what they are doing. Shouldn't the doctor's office know which plans they accept or not? Of course they do! That's how they get paid! I have filed a complaint with Florida's Attorney General, and I will be filing complaints with the insurance commission, the medical licensing board, and the Federal Government, since I am a Federal Employee. Fraud in the medical field is a huge problem for all of us, and if doctors are committing it in order to get more money, it hurts us all. Oh, and by the way, Dr. Shiffman tried to convince me to remove my negative review, which I won't do. The public needs to be made aware of this insurance fraud. Beware of Dr. Shiffman!! read more

I truly enjoy my experience every time I have an appointment from the wonderful front office staff,sending me text messages to remind me of my appointment and helping me handle my insurance, to the back office where I'm made completely comfortable by Dr. Shiffman and his assistants. I've been coming here for two years now and will be a long time patient! I had a laser filling done and was in and out of the office in 30 minutes and the best part was that I didn't even need to get that awful shot of novicane and have half of my face numb when I went back to work. Dr Shiffman goes above and beyond in his care for patients at my last cleaning visit I took a survey to screen for sleep apnea, and it turned out that I in fact have sleep issues that went untreated. I had Dr Shiffmans NIGHTLASE procedure done which was painless and quick and my sleep has improved so much and my boyfriend thanks Dr. Shiffman as well because I'm no longer "singing him to sleep" and waking him up with my snoring. As the rating states, "As good as it gets!" I was informed about my procedure and payment before any work was accomplished. During my procedure, Dr. Shiffman explained in depth what he and his staff were going to be doing which put me at ease. After my visit was completed I was setup with my next appointment. The amazing part about my visit was not needing a needle jammed into my face and having to deal with being numb for a couple hours after leaving. I have never looked forward to a dental appointment until I began coming to Dr Shiffman's office. All of his staff are so caring and sweet. The front girls including the office manager Melissa are very patient with me being that I am an elderly woman, they answer all of my questions in such a warm way. I cannot express how caring, nice and amazing Dr.Shiffman and his staff are! My 10 week old baby had 3 lip ties and a tongue tie and Dr. Shiffman and his staff cared for my baby as if she were their own. Been a patient for Boynton Laser Dental Center for since 2007 and would not want to go anywhere else! Everyone at the office are so nice and very professional. Dr Shiffman and his staff are great. Everything is explained in advance at every step of treatment. They treat you more like family than just another patient. A shout out to his assistant Ivy who goes above and beyond and makes terrific temporary crowns. Michelle is the Hygienist and is great in her own right.
