Never thought I would review a dental office, but oh wow! From the moment I walked in - even through their protective masks, you could see how friendly the young ladies at the front desk were. My appointment was right on time and my dental hygienist, Marnie, was an absolute darling. She did an awesome job not only cleaning my teeth but keeping me engaged in the conversation that I didn't even realize we had finished. I made another appointment with Marnie for deep cleaning. I also made appointments with Dr. Michael Rodriguez and that also went smoothly. He was very thorough in his explanation of treatment and very light handed when working in my hand. I didn't even feel the needle to get numb. The dynamic between him and his assistant was seamless - they work great together. I just moved to a new area and came across this dr on my list of participating dentist and I must admit I was a bit skeptical because he looks so young, but I was met with professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge. I am so disappointed and frustrated with this office. I have been a patient since 2022. Only had cleanings until this year, when I had to have two crowns cemented back on and a crown redone. The dental work itself was fine. Dr. Tremaine is good at what she does. Marnie, the hygienist is the reason I have been a patient, as she is great! My frustration is with the administrative side of things. It has been terrible since Amy left last year. The new people have provided me wrong copayment information, have not done what they said they would do and told me my refund was being mailed, when it has not been. Xavia is not easy to deal with, has a condescending attitude with patients and actually had the audacity to tell me that "that is why he is the owner", when 3 weeks ago I indicated it is not fair for patients to be made to wait for responses regarding over payments because the owner/dentist only works one day a week. Not an appropriate response, in my opinion. Given I have had to chase refunds from this office twice now, I will not be paying for services upfront. Will wait for EOB to do so; and if not able to, then I guess I will be looking for a new dentist. I have left messages asking for either the owner or my treating dentist to call me, and nothing. I guess they are not interested in knowing what their patients are going through. This has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Would have never happened with Amy. Good employees are truly hard to find. read more

Dishonest or inept. Repeatedly diagnosed cavities that after five star dentist gave second opinion, did not exist. Happened twice. Last visit told me I had five cavities, but I was "headed in the right direction". There was one cavity he missed, but the five teeth he proposed to fix were healthy teeth -- no decay. I wonder how many healthy teeth he worked on prior to my suspensions were confirmed. . read more

Dr. Rodriguez convinced me to get a bridge for a single tooth. The result was poorly done -- my bite was misaligned, which led to severe TMJ pain. The pain became so intense that I couldn't sleep. I couldn't reach the office by phone -- it always went to voicemail. I left multiple messages and never received a call back. When I came in person, I was told that the doctor no longer wanted to work with me and was simply advised to take 800 mg of ibuprofen instead of the 400 mg I had been taking. Instead of examining the issue or checking the bridge, no effort was made to identify the cause or fix the problem. Throughout the treatment, it felt rushed and primarily money-driven. My concerns were dismissed, and I felt talked down to. The cost estimates contained multiple errors. I strongly recommend double-checking all estimates. My experience was truly disappointing. I recently switched to Ocean Dental, and I only wish I had found this office of caring and talented people sooner I had to have two crowns made and Dr Tremaine is remarkable If like me you're a complete wimp about shots or let's say pain in general....This is the dentist for you. I just can't rave enough... I am in awe of the fact that (twice) she had to really dig around my mouth and for a second time.. have absolutely no discomfort the next day. I was referred to come to Dr. Mike Rodriguez for the last place I went made me very unhappy. Me living in the Miami beach area hard to find the right dentist for me. I needed a root canal and was very nervous about it. I made it very known that I was scared to the staff as well as the doctor. Everyone assured me I was in good hands and would be okay. As they were right. The one time I started to feel anything he stopped to give me another shoot until I felt nothing and completely comfortable again. Being new to Boynton, I was on the search for a dentist. I found one but had a horrendous experience after one appointment and opted for ODS and Dr. Rodriguez and staff. Came here upon the recommendations of 2 friends. Thought I would be seeing the same dentist they did but they put me with someone new and young. I went in for a crown that I knew I needed and a cleaning. 2 hours later I'm told I need 7 crowns for 7 cavities because there were already fillings in some of the teeth. WHAT?! My dentist to retired saw the same cavities and never said anything of the sort. But ok, I still needed that crown to replace my temporary so i called and tried to make the appt to start the crown process. I was asked why I wouldn't be doing the rest of the work there and told them and then was told I had to give a 50% deposit for the cost of the crown to schedule the appointment. Never heard of such a thing in my life! Called 3 other dentists who all laughed when I told the story and said that's how they make their money on commissions for crowns. Found another great dentist who said 3 cavities and one would need a crown. BIG DIFFERENCE! Stay away from this place! They only want your money and if you walk in there with anything but an open wallet they want nothing to do with you. Nobody I know has ever been required to put down a deposit to make a dentist appointment!! read more

Found the best dental office in the area. Ocean Dental Studio had great reviews, so I gave them a visit and I couldn't be more excited about the office. Dr. Rodriguez and his staff are 5 star. I am a very nervous dental patient, and this practice makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. Every person I came in contact in the office with was friendly, calming, helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Rodriguez is kind and takes his time to explain everything and answer any questions and concerns. I had a wonderful and thorough cleaning thanks to Marnie, my dental hygienist and shortly after had a few filling done by Dr. Rodriguez, and Sharon, his dental assistant is the greatest. My wife got a coupon or flyer in the mail, I went with a specific issue, she went for a general checkup. I Left the office after 2 hours no closer to having the problem fixed. The quote i received was so far out of range for what I needed, fillings i had lost, i was stunned. The quote was in the $300-$350 range per filling, so over $2600. I left the office, called another local dentist, made an appointment, had it resolved on the first visit for $1100. There are about 10 people working in a 1 dentist office and I guess they need to cover the overhead, but it was serious gauging and not even within reasonable for the service that was needed. Get a second opinion, there are plenty of qualified well educated dentists within a stones throw of this office where you can get the work done right and at a fair price anywhere you make an appointment fora time and that they are respectful of your time. The staff was very nice and friendly, Dr. Rodriguez was more than competent and professional and capable, but for me it doesn't over ride the wait time and cost differential. read more

Who likes getting dental work done? Nobody, right? But, Dr. Rodriguez goes out of his way to make sure the experience is as streamlined and painless as possible. And guess what, he even thought to have bluetooth wireless headphones so you can listen to your own pandora tunes! Seriously, I commend him for his professional demeanor and management of his office in Covid times, to thoroughly explaining, in writing, the possible pitfalls of the procedure. This was an A+ experience, from support staff to doctor attention, and I am beginning to get over the sad experience of my former dentist retiring. I will be reformed from my boycott of dentistry, and will now return to my every 6 month check-up protocol. He was that good! read more

Even tho I was being a total B to the receptionist for not giving me prices over the phone I'm actually really glad I decided to come in anyways. The staff is really cool down to earth not like most offices that just hire pretty faces, these girls actually have brains. The whole place was nice en very clean. Happened to pass this place while I was out walking my dog and met Dr. Rodriguez and decided to give it a try since it was right down the street from my house. So happy I did. I was in need of a good cleaning and a crown so I knew had an idea of what work I needed done. Got my X-rays and cleaning done which I loved! They took the time to go over everything with me and I didn't feel rushed. I decided to take advantage of their in office discount plan which was great since I received a good percentage off my crown. Came in the Dr. removed my crown and filled a cavity in a timely matter. Loved that they gave me a follow up call to check out I was feeling. The ladies in the office are so sweet and attentive which is so nice. Am back now to get my new crown on and I'm super excited to have it fixed. Have referred several of my friends and they are all very happy with their experience. Highly Highly recommended! I've been a patient of Dr. Calvo's since last year and it has been hands down the best dental experience I have had since my childhood dentist retired. It should speak for itself that I commute all the way from Downtown Miami to Boynton Beach just to see her and her staff! Going to the dentist can often be a daunting experience. I had a dental emergency and they got me right in. During the work, they kept me informed every step of the way. He is extremely gentle and kept me informed enough to know what to expect during the entire process and the discomfort was minimal. The office is clean and modern. The office staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Being new to the area, and finding a dentist who was going to accommodate my needs was very important to me. A coworker recommended Dr. Rodriguez after I mentioned I needed to see a dentist. I went online to the Ocean Dental Studio website and requested an appointment. I got a call the next time the office opened to verify the appointment and I was good to go! Monica at the front desk is a gem! She is warm, personable and make getting started and in to your appointment quick and easy. I was taken back to a clean and comfortable room. Emily was charming and easy to talk to. It was like we had known each other for a long time. Emily took easy pictures of my teeth and X-rays too. Dr. Rodriquez came in and sat with me like I was family. He asked about me and my work, he cared enough to ask and have a genuine conversation. He wasn't rushing in and out. That was nice and made the choice to see him all worth while. He sat with me and went thru each picture and took a closer look on ones that needed addressing. I have never felt so comfortable at a dentist office. Wonderful dental office! Absolutely nothing to complain about. The staff is extremely nice and understanding, I went to get a root canal for a tooth and felt no pain whatsoever!
