Not even worth one star. This company is a total scam!! Avoid doing buisness with them!! You will never be able to get out of your contract even after the supposed time has ended. The service has not worked for years.I paid for the last 3 years even though the hardware they sold me was outdated 2 years into my contract. Now that my contract is up they are still billing me even though I have called and written them to stop service. I VERBALLY Canceled my services with BP Alarm on November 21, 2023. I Spoke to a Bree who stated, she is the manager of the company and basically had the final say so and there is no one above her to speak to about the my situation (she is really a rude person and should NOT be a spokesperson for the Company). I was told my cancellation had to be in writing not verbal. However, I had no idea who and what a BP Alarm Co. was, since I had originally signed the contract in June 2017 with Security One/ViVo Security ... who I'm told, then sold our information to BP Alarm. I thought my verbal was enough, but unfortunately, I received notifications that if I don't pay $310.00 my account will be turned over for collection . I thought I had paid all fees up to idate thru November 21, 2023, but apparently not. read more

We had a doorbell camera installed a few months ago. Recently our modem went bad and we had our wefi service provider install a new one. Everything we have on we fi was easy to set up and worked as before, except BP's Alarm.Com wireless doorbell camera. We paid for a service call $120 for the tech. to set it up. He spent 2 1/2 hours and it worked for about 20 minutes after he left. We called him back and he spent another 1 1/2 hours and again thought everything was working, It worked for about a day. So far after two weeks and 3 techs it is still not working correctly. We wanted it removed and not be billed for it as it is not what was advertised. They said they can't do that because of the contract but maybe they could credit us with a future service call. BP/Alarm.com is the wrong choice for a security system/doorbell camera for those who wish to have reliable and knowledgeable service as they are unable to provide such service. read more

CAUTION - TERRIBLE COMPANY - BP Alarm is the biggest Fraud you can imagine. First their service is inadequate depending on where you live as they have no close representatives (at least not in CDA Idaho) Second I discussed cancellation with them for several months and was advised that I was out of the 5 year commitment, but never told that renewals are annual vs monthly, so in spite of being told I could just cancel at any time, when I finally got my alternate company, they said it was already in the annual renewal period and therefore I would be liable for a whole year according to the contract. Still waiting for a copy of that contract, but regardless a full year renewal as an auto renewal without advance notice is totally unacceptable. I strongly recommend everyone to steer clear of this company and advise anyone who has their service and is considering to change to get well informed in advance as they will try and force you to continue their service with lots of fine print, etc. Worst Alarm Company I have ever dealt with. read more

They are a fine company when it comes to needing tech support. However when life get in the the way and it will. They are very unsympathetic to YOUR needs. Its March 16th 2021 my wife and I signed up February 2015. I called to cancel service for the second time in 2 years last Friday. This time I was told I signed a contract that automatically renews annually. This means every February I get signed up and held to another full year at 50 bucks a month or what every I have left on that year. Being that its March if I cancel today I will have to pay them 50 times 12 months 600. For what? Nothing cause I no longer live there. See I had to move to South Carolina where they do not have service. Even though I was a loyal customer for 6 years they wouldn't let me out of this contract. So I'm sure you can feel my frustrations. I have no recourse but to write poor reviews on what ever site I can until my contact is up. Cause I cant afford $600 in a single payment I'm gonna have to resort to paying them month to month. Hopefully to remember to mail them a cancellation letter by January 2022 So until then enjoy the bad reviews BP Alarm. Hopefully cost you a couple of customers. Amazing company! I called to have some of the equipment removed and to have get a system update and they had a technician to my house within two days. The technician called ahead of time to confirm a time that worked for us. We couldn't do it till 7 pm and he came out at that time. The customer service was amazing. The technician did not leave our home till all of our questions were answered. He was very patient and worked around my lil ones running around the house. I highly recommend BP Alarm. As for the alarm systems, it speaks for itself, exceptional! read more

Beware of signing any type of contract with this company!! After your initial contract has reached an end it automatically renews for another year!!! Which means you have no choice but to pay for another year!!! They don't even ask if you want to continue, so you don't have a choice. If you don't get your letter of cancellation in at exactly the right time then you're screwed for another year. This is a warning to anyone thinking of signing up for their service, shop around and ask questions about the contract. BP Alarm did not disclose this bit of information that is in section 2.4 of the fine print contract, plus it's very vague in the wording. I hope this warning helps anyone who is thinking about having BP Alarm take care of their home, find another option. read more

Worst customer service I have ever received. I have asked for a supervisor on three separate occasions and it's been over a week and no call. On top of that calling your customers liars is not quite the best way to do business in my opinion. I have had BP for several years. When I had to cut my expenses ,I asked to cancel . The first 3 times I asked they did nothing. With my 4th attempt they sent me an email that I was to answer their questions, sign it and return it to them. I did that but did not remember my verbal security code and explained that to them. I canceled auto pay thinking it was canceled. Two months later i get a phone call telling me i owe them for the past 2 months and i have to pay the next two months. They would not bill me " because it cost money " yet they have communicated with me via email. I recommend staying away from this company. read more

In January of 2013, a rep from PB Alarm came to my door offering to switch my existing monitoring system to BP. They claimed "the other company" (ADP) was from out of state and they could provide better service and give me just a two year contract. I was told at that time I could cancel at any time after 2 years. When I attempted to cancel because I have sold my h ouse, I was told that I can only cancel my policy at the end of the renewal period which will be 3 months after I no longer live here. Not only that, but the person at the office that took my call was incredibly rude, not listening to my comments and just telling me to listen to him and not interupt him as he basically told me I was screwed. Lets just say I will be using a different security company at my new home. read more

My father's system wasn't connected for 3 years of his 5 year contract, and not once did they attempt to contact him to see if he was okay, or if he was still using their systems. They just continued to charge him, and even auto-renewed his contract for another year because he didn't send in a letter to cancel (he didn't know he had to). After discovering the recurring charge, they wouldn't even offer a refund to the date of his passing. This company doesn't care about your well being, they're not in business to secure you or your property, only your money. Yes, BP Alarms deserves 5 stars for their customer centered service. BP has the latest technologies, including a very convenient app for our phones that we often use to set or disarm our system. We also appreciate the realtime video we receive from our front doorbell. Any time we have had a service/maintenance issue, our calls are immediately returned, followed by a pleasant, knowledgeable, service repair technician. BP knows their business from an "equipment and technology" perspective, but also and perhaps more importantly to us, from a follow up "service" perspective. read more

I sent in my cancellation notice 30 days prior to the end of my contract, according to the paperwork I have on file . now I find out that they renewed me for another year because I didn't sending my request on time....... I would not recommend this security company to anyone! If you sell your home, you will be obligated to pay the remainder of the contract term (annually renewed). So, with 6 months left of paying the service, we get the calls if the new owner sets the alarm off! Customer service told me it is "standard in the industry", and when I questioned the truth to that and indicated I would make sure no one I know uses this company, she said, "each to their own". I have used many different alarm companies. I currently have 3 commercial buildings that are protected with BP Alarm systems. I went to BP after a beyond terrible experience with ADT. They were charging me a ridiculous amount of money and they tricked one of my employees into doing a 5 yr extension. BP Alarm has much better pricing and when we have needed any assistance with a sensor or other small issue they have quickly sent out a service tech and been very helpful. Their techs are professional and good and have been great to deal with. I just contacted them to have them add another service to a new building that have recently expanded into with my business. I would definitely recommend BP Alarm for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable Alarm system. read more

I normally do not write to many reviews however, I feel that EVERYONE should know just how un professional BP Alarm is. I have been a BP alarm client for 4 years now. I was previously with ADT and NOT in contract when a BP Alarm sales representative came to my home and told me how I could save money and only be in a 2 year contract. I knew I would be in my home for 2 or more years and I love to save money so I signed up. I have paid my bill on time each month at $39.99 for the last 4 + years and thankfully have NEVER had to use my alarm. I had a "past due" bill sent to me and of course knew I paid so I contacted BP Alarm and advised there could be no way I was past due. I was told at that time that the system does not make mistakes but people do and I must have been wrong. I advised that I would get proof (bank statement) of which I did. After providing the proof I waited for an estimated 3 weeks before I wrote them for an update and was told that it was their error and they would fix my account. All was great except the fact that I was not apologized to or given an apology. About a month later we decided to move so I called BP Alarm and asked how moving my service to the new place would work. At that time I was advised that I would have to pay $99.00 and sign a NEW 2 YEAR contract. I was hesitant to do so with the service I was just provided and decided to shop around. I called back to BP alarm the same day to cancel and was told that I could not cancel as I was still in contract. I was confused as I signed a 2 year contract and it had been over 4 years. At that time I was advised that the contract I signed was a 2 year contract with an automatic yearly renewal and I had to provide a cancel letter in writing 30 days prior to my next renewal to cancel. I was in shock as that is NOT at all what I was aware of when signing up with the company. I did pull out my contract and see that it was written in the "fine" print. I am sure almost ALL consumers can agree with me that they never read "all the fine print on every contract". When you are advised that you will ONLY be in a 2 year contract by the company's representative you trust that they are telling you the truth and are a honest company. Oh boy did I learn my lesson! You can't trust anyone any more. I wrote a letter asking for an exception to be made since I was unaware and only 3 days into my 30 days' notice requirement. Not only was I ignored, but when I wrote again I received an e-mail with the contract info copied and pasted into the e-mail with no other communication. I wrote back and asked for other options as the only options I was being offered at that time were to continue to pay for the service at the home I was no longer living in, or to pay $99.00 to move the service to my new home and then extend my contract for 2 more years. Again, I am sure most would agree with me that they too would be skeptical of continuing to do business with a company that was far from honest. After not getting a response yet again I wrote again, and again no response. As a last resort I did a search to find BP Alarms corporate office information and with that found several complaints placed with the BBB. Most were the exact same as mine. I also found that the only "good" reviews I found happen to be written by the exact representative I had been working with (Mike Bower). I sent yet another e-mail to Mike requesting that I be given another contact that could assist me in a more timely manner and SUPRISE, I received a response right away saying "what else can I help you with" "I believe I have told you what your options are" and then wrote the exact same thing he had previously. I may not be the smartest person but I am defiantly a competent person. I am an American Family Insurance Agent and I work with the public every day all day long and would NEVER treat a client the way I have been treated. The fact is, I would have a career if I did! I feel lied to, taken advantage of, ignored, mistreated and STUCK! Just wanted to what I can to make sure no one else has to go through what I am going through. BP alarm is actually ok - but they contract out there monitoring system. It is actually the customer service, college students and owner (Mike) that is terrible. I "upgraded" our alarm system to camera monitoring system and signed a new contract - which states that I have 3 days to cancel. Well apparently Mike will just pull policies out of his you know where and say that that contract only applies to new customers and that I had to pay for the camera and the techs time. He was awful, rude and hung up on me- he told me he didn't have time he was a family function. Don't go with BP alarm. The owner does not care about customer service or working with his customers. BP does not deserve your hard earned money! read more

I've been with BP Alarm service now for a few years. They have met my needs in regards to a great alarm system, great monitoring, and great customer service. Thank goodness they have only had to call me a couple of times to see if things were ok when I accidentally opened a door before shutting off the alarm in the morning, and each time they were courteous and understanding.
