I recently stopped here since I was on my way to Detroit and I wanted to grab a few things for the road. The gas station was convenient because it's right off the exit with an easy access back onto the highway. Overall, for as big as this gas station is it really lacks a lot of options and it does not feature too many items. Items here are at least fairly priced. The staff here is friendly and is even a Popeyes connected to this place. However, this place was outdated as well! even the restrooms. Overall, I could care less about this gas station. read more

Most places will authorize $1 on your account to verify funds. This travel center put $151 of funds on hold for $30 of gas. Visa issued a notice to banks (according to UMCU), last year, that gas stations can start doing this. Apparently Pilot Travel Center is one that does. I have emailed Pilot corp, with no response. (yet) Workers at the Pilot Travel Center said that it is the bank and not Pilot. According to Visa, it is the Travel Center. Also, via Visa, they can preauthorize up to $151 for passenger vehicles and $500 for semi trucks. I can't believe this isn't common knowledge and people aren't pissed! How would you like to have $151 frozen from Friday to Tuesday. What if you were filling up on your way out of town, then you didn't have that money available because this new practice? To avoid this, go into the station and have them authorize a specific amount instead of paying at the pump. No matter how inconvenient it will be to use another gas station, I will NOT visit this travel center again.
