I called DC Side Street and let them know I was really in a bind and needed to get my brakes fixed and asked them if they could possibly get my car in asap due to not being able to drive it. I told them about the situation and Chris told me be here at 8am the next morning. I was running late due to getting my car late and not being able to tow it. I drove it from Ann Arbor Toyota back roads to get it in. They literally had my car fixed that day by 4pm. They did this because they care about their customers and know that word of mouth is how they get new customers. Oh I didn't mention, they did my brakes do a fraction of the price, literally over half the price of what Ann Arbor Toyota quoted me. I will forever be a loyal customer to this place. With that in mind, I stopped in to see if they also services motorcycles and if they could fix our John Deere. I needed an oil change and chain adjustment. The big shop in Ann Arbor could have gotten it done in an hour but after talking with Bill, I was confident they could do the job and work within the cost that the big shop would have charged. The gimme was that I had to leave the bike with them at least over night. No big. I told them that I needed it back by Friday for a charity ride on Saturday. I would rather support the local business, closer to home, than worry about a day or two. Got my bike back on Thursday, and thankfully it was Thurdsay because Bill stayed a few minutes late, to allow me to get through rush hour traffic, up to the shop. They had the audacity to suggest several thousand dollars in unnecessary repairs but simultaneously issued a disclaimer stating that they could not guarantee any if these repairs would fix the problem. I was still charged the diagnostic fee despite having nothing to show for their "work," and I got an oil change out of pure necessity. Setting $400.00 on fire would've been more productive than the help I received from TJ and staff. And I still had to drive away anxious at the thought of the car breaking down on the highway again. To top it off, there is now a completely new code showing up that Stadium either caused, didn't check for, or neglected to mention. I'm ashamed to admit that these so-called honest experts totally ripped me off, but they would have made my situation way worse if I had approved any more of their recommended repairs. I called almost every auto repair shop in Chelsea, Dexter, and even Ann Arbor area but nobody was willing to touch this 37 year old car. Then I called Jeff who was willing to take a look. I got the car towed to the shop and John got the seized nut out, remove the bracket and replaced the water pump. The cooling system was refilled and tested for no leak. They said it was the fluid that I supplied (Royal Purple) that caused the problem. They said they were to busy to fix the car it would be a couple of weeks. They called me to pick the car up and told me to bring it back when they weren't so busy after it sat in there shop for about a week and a half.. I decided to take to another shop. They told me that the gears were not setup right and was not the fluid. I called Haas and told them what the other shop said and tried to get some of the my money back, Just the labor of $ 450.00 (I did supply the parts (Ford racing).
