Later, I had a $175 charge from this station on my Discover card. I called the station and this is their procedure, if you swipe your card at the pump, they put a $175 "hold" on your card. There was NO notice of this policy. I called Discover and they confirmed Love's policy and that they put a pending status for $175 on cards, and that it can take 10 days to be processed and the charge removed and the real charge recorded. Love's has lost a customer. Post the policy, alert customers to the $175 and provide an option. I had cash and could easily have paid that way. So long Love's--and I hope others see this policy for what it is.

This is a gas station off of the interstate in Rochester, Indiana. It serves its purpose. The one thing I wanted to drink was coffee, but the coffee they had seemed like it had been left out quite a while. So, pass! I found something else to drink, and when I went to pay, the card reader did not work at the register, so the attendant took my card to a different, out-of-the-way location to scan. OK! I felt like I might need to check my credit card statement after that encounter. This gas station has OK restrooms, and also a shower area for truckers. It's also attached to a restaurant that offers "Maxcian" street food. Oh, rural Indiana! Never stop being exactly who you are.
