The inside of the store is super clean and provides customers with so many options in one stop. There is a full service gas station with your typical snacks and fountain drinks, but there are also additional services that make this location unique from other gas stations. There is a small stand that offers freshly baked Cinnabon products, and they are outstanding! My friends and I split a box of 6 full sized cinnamon rolls for $14, making it under $5 for each of us to have 2 rolls. I think that's reasonable!! Also inside, there were also aisles of Michigan-related souvenirs, such as keychains, hats, sweatshirts, etc. The restrooms were clean, so that is always a "plus"! Being a person who loves a good road trip and has been to many of the states, this isn't my favorite gas station, but Loves Travel Centers definitely has a special place in my heart. While I would consider this spot average, I will continue to stop here once to twice a year when needed.

After a couple of minutes I went back inside, and asked a couple of employees who were talking if they could please set my pump so I could pump gas. She yelled at me in a demeaning way that she could show me how to pump gas. I walked out, and the pump was never set up so I could pump gas. When I came back in, I spoke to the kind cashier and was trying to ask her what was going on. She told me I would have to pay again. The payment already was taken out of my bank account. Shantelle, the asst. manager came and spoke again in a yelling unkind tone, and told me that she would not be allowing me to pump gas and I had to leave. Yes, I know there are security cameras, GOOD. I was speaking in a quieter tone and was aksing questions. I did not yell or speak in an unkind manner.

I stopped in because of a billboard I saw about 10 miles south along I-196. It said 'diesel lanes', so I knew that I could get in and out with my big rig. They are about a block east of the expressway, just past the Pilot. I took the right turn lane and it was on my immediate left. Easy in, I parked just past the fuel pumps and off to one side. Since this is new, it is relatively spotless, both inside and out. I walked in from the back door and everything was bright, modern and up to date. It was so new, I'll bet some of the food and drink items didn't even have expiration dates yet (grin)! They have limited transient parking for big rigs, maybe 10 spots in all. No showers are available. Right next to K&R Trucks, a local truck and trailer sales and service company.

The employees gave me the stink eye when I went to put it up to use the restroom like I was doing something incorrect (I did prop it back open after I was done even though I had to touch it with my hands, forcing me to wash them again). Employees weren't verbally rude or anything but they weren't even "customer service" fake nice and it made me feel extremely unwelcome.
