Instead of traveling to the Mission Peninsula or ordering from their wine club, there were several varieties on the shelves. It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland.
