I am a weekly appointment for shampoo & style (& regular cuts & color) and have patronized this salon & its predecessor for almost 25 years. The stylists are best trained in Amarillo area--by far. All stylists are good but most senior stylists are excellent. Two of them recently were hired to do hair for an east coast large wedding hosted by well-known public couple. Service is timely, modern & has amenities. Salon is very nice & has a great central location. read more

Vanessa is amazing! I have lots of gray hair and requested natural highlights to help blend. She took her time with the highlight/foil placement and used toner to make sure it all blended well. I love my hair! Thank you Nuvia and Wade! I have been nervous about finding a stylist since recently moving to the area. My hair is really fine and I lost a lot of hair when we moved here, just from stress and probably the change in climate. But it was looking so unhealthy and lackluster that I finally took the plunge and made an appointment for new color and a drastic cut. I really liked the text message reminder about my appointment! Nuvia was the color technician and she was incredibly helpful. I showed her pictures on Pinterest and asked her which one would be most realistic to pull off with the current state of my hair. She made a great recommendation that would grow out well, wouldn't put more stress on my fragile hair and achieve the look I was going for. I really appreciated the time she took to talk to me about things that I could do to help get my hair healthy again, everything from right the water temperature during a shampoo to taking biotin and using the right products. After she completed my color, she took me to the chair for my cut and recommended a protein spray to use during styling. I was her last client of the day but she stuck around during my cut and style to make sure that I liked the way the color turned out. Wade cut and styled my hair. He is the owner of the salon and his station is near the front. I was impressed with how he greeted clients by name as they walked in and thanked them as they left. We decided to cut off quite a bit of my hair for a long bob look. He added some layers all over to give it more texture and body and left it a little longer in the front to give it a nice angled shape. I love the way he styled it and it looked even better the next day! Quick note about the products. I hate hair product. I just don't like the artificial perfumes in most of them. But I loved the Label M products that he used on my hair. He used a sea salt spray and a protein spray and they smelled fantastic. One of them smelled like rose essential oil and the other one had a rosemary/lavender smell but they smelled natural and not overpowering. read more

I have recently moved to Amarillo and was searching for a new salon. I made my appointment online for 3 days later, which I thought was a great wait time! Once arriving I was greeted by Ariel, who checked me in and directed me to the seating area to await my appointment. The decor and vibe of this salon is phenomenal. It is a very industrial chic style, using dark colors and mixture of wood and metal. I like how there is separation of the seating area and the "salon" area. Nuvia was my color technician and she was amazing. She is very personable and knowledgeable in her craft. My hair is badly damaged and she took that into heavy consideration. She discussed options and gave me opinions as well as helpful tips to improve my hair health throughout the appointment. Wade is the owner of the salon and is truly fantastic. He did my haircut. Again, my hair was very badly damaged but he presented me with a plan and managed to cut off a lot of the damage and camouflage what we did not want to cut off just yet to maintain length and evenness. He is very personable and truly makes you feel like one of a kind. Again, the staff was friendly, the environment wonderful and professional staff was very knowledgeable and professional! A month ago I got my hair cut here and after a long debate with myself I've decided that I do not like my cut. Overall I am just disappointed and irritated with the management. When I called in advance, I asked if they had any CURLY HAIRED specialist, she replied with "all our stylist can cut curly hair" *eyeroll* so I asked if there was any one that was particularly good with CUTS - she then suggested so and so. With trust, I booked the appointment. My stylist did not know a thing about curly hair. Not only did she say she graduated from beauty school merely TWO months prior to my appointment (I only bring this up because how can be a master at cuts after JUST graduating) she said her specialty was COLOR (and it is, her color work is awesome). I am mad at the management of stylists because I specifically asked for someone who specialized in CUTS because I was asking for a great CUT and they set me up with an inexperienced stylist who's specialty was color. By the end of my cut it was very apparent my stylist knew she messed up my hair and was scrambling to make it look better. She even asked what I thought and said I could be honest well knowing it did not look good. Honestly what was I supposed to say? I just wanted to get out of there asap. She did not know how to cut curly hair properly and cut off way too much (possibly forgetting that curly hair coils up when dry?) And did not know how to properly use a diffuser ultimately frizzing up my hair THEN brushed out some parts and cut the curls brushed out....EXCUSE ME?! Why on Earth would you BRUSH OUT CURLS. It was a train wreck. As she was cutting my hair she asked if I wanted to let my hair air dry to stay curly or if I wanted it styled... girl I came in with curly hair I'm leaving with curly hair. Maybe this is just a pet peeve because I do take pride in my curls. After my cut I went home and had to style some curls with a curling iron and that is the ONLY way my hair looks good. I do not like the fact that I have to apply heat to my hair and manipulate the curls to make it look decent when I normally just let it air dry and that's it. The cut is absolutely TERRIBLE on it's own and when it grows out long enough to get cut again I will be going to a different salon to fix it. Next time, please take your clients requests seriously and match them to a stylist according to their needs. Think of it this way: you wouldnt hire a black and white portrait only tattoo artist for a cartoon color piece would you?So why would you set up a color specialist for a curly cut? After growing my healthy brown hair out to shoulder length, I showed a stylist a photo for an asymmetrical bob with a few blond highlights. Let me mention that the person who was scheduled to cut my hair because her specialty was bobs left for the night without letting me know so another person stepped in. This was 8 months of growing out layers to get my hair to a length to be able to have this amazing look that I had been looking forward to. The first visit and two color processes later, my hair had two inches of dark roots and the rest was damaged beyond repair and orange. I had healthy hair and asked for a few highlights. I showed a photo and asked for an angle bob without stacking. Specifically said, no stacking. I'm not sure where things went wrong. What I have now is damaged hair that will take over a year to grow again and hair cut very short in the back. The front had to be cut very short as well, just to make sense of what was going on in the back. On the second visit, another stylist stepped in to try to correct the cut as the original stylist was obviously stoned and not doing well with her 2nd attempt. The result is hair that is six inches shorter than intended, not a bob, fried, a complete mess. I did visit with the manager and was promised they would make it right. Making it right meant, adding a few lowlights and cutting even MORE hair off. I will never visit this establishment again. I'm embarrassed to go out in public. Also, while I was there, several of the stylists seemed more interested in their after work drinking plans than focusing on their clients. One of the 5 stylists who 'tried' to fix the mess reeked of marijuana. #nothankyou #thanksformessingmyhairup read more
