As the tagline suggests, Michael's act is a combination of humor and magic - mocking magic while simultaneously impressing the audience with magic. Knowing that Michael also performed for corporate and other types of events besides university programming, I asked him to attend a Tweetup with about 100 people. He performed tricks during networking, and the crowd fell in love with him when he finally performed his act. A few months later when I was organizing a fundraiser, I used him as the main attraction - folks from the first event showed up eager to see him again as well as many new faces. I got tremendous feedback from his performance - and of course I loved it, despite having heard most of the jokes and seen the tricks three times, his act still makes me smile! For two years we tried to get magician Jon Finch for our company's holiday party before finally, he…read morewas available, and I'm so glad he wasn't already booked as he was a perfect fit! From the minute I spoke to Jon on the phone, I knew he was different! I called to get a quote and he actually spent around 45 minutes not only to answer all my questions and concerns but also asked questions about my event I hadn't considered. I am astonished at Jon's thoroughness and his professionalism. The day of the event, Jon contacted me just to confirm that he would be with us. We booked him for four hours of up-close magic and mentalism (mind-reading). Finch arrived early to get his bearings, but he brought no props or equipment. When he arrived I thought, "Where's his suitcase of props?" But there is something special about his magic--it feels like the real thing. He IS magic. His memory is as fantastic just like his magic. There were 150+ guests at our holiday party, but Jon addressed each guest by name even after meeting others. Jon made everyone feel like royalty. Richard Darshwood, Darsh to his friends, is great at close up magic and uses venues that are relatively small (20-40 people) to keep with the "intimate" theme.
