Surprisingly larger than expected! They have a good sized indoor seating area with a horseshoe shaped bar at one end. A small gift shop is nearby with lots of merch as well as a small selection of what seemed to be Arturo Fuente brand cigars as they do allow you to smoke and drink out back on the patio. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and they had an acoustic country singer/guitarist playing out back. They offer several different in-house distilled spirits at the bar as well as bottles for purchase in the gift shop. I tried both pours of their 2 bourbons and liked each. They also offer spirits flights if you'd like to try several offerings. I found their prices to be on the higher side for a distillery without a proven reputation that hadn't yet won any significant awards. That said, they had plenty of customers, many of whom seemed to be ex and current military since the distillery is owned by an ex military couple. As far as prices, please see my pic of their bar menu for current pricing. Tons of free parking lot parking out front, so that's not an issue. I knocked off one star as I found the bartender to be unfriendly and unfortunately 100% unappreciative. I gave her a six dollar tip for pouring me 1 single bourbon neat, and she looked at me like I was cheap!!!! She took it, frowned, and never said thank you or anything else. She didn't even have to run my credit card. It was a real downer. I wanted to ask for it back, but I have better manners than her. Hopefully, management will say something to their staff about this type of service. That said, its a nice place with decent bourbons and I wish the owners well. Not sure I'd return based on the bartender.

FANTASTIC experience! My favorite Distillery visit yet - GREAT backstory of the founders, very good liquid, wonderful atmosphere and incredibly supportive of our troops. It's something else - and much larger than I expected for such a young distillery. I've been to 33 distilleries and have only rated 5 of them a 5.0. HISTORY - I learned so much about the history of making this distillery a reality which came from the history of the Husband/Wife team who founded it: Brad & Jessica Halling. Too much to include in this review but Google them. Brad Halling is was part of the events in the movie Black Hawk Down & Jessica Halling was the Army Judge Advocate and retired as a Colonel just to start the story with... AMBIANCE - Gloriously appointed buildings with wonderful military nods everywhere you look without being gaudy - incredibly artfully worked w/ wonderful symbolism, very comfortable inside as well. TASTING - on the tour, you get to taste 4 liquids in a special room with great literature commemorating something military (Battle of Mogadishu on my visit). Liquids were: Sergeant's Valor Select Bourbon, Sergeant's Valor Select Rye, Madam Colonel Gin and Madam Colonel Pistachio Bourbon Cream. All were unique and very tasty. LIQUID - I loved what I tried - I did also go to the bar and order the ($40 a pour) and it was absolutely delicious! * Sergeant's Valor Select Bourbon - 93 proof, this is a 3 bourbon blend with some corn sweetness and a nice nose w/ some dark chocolate & cherry. Tasted balanced and rounded character w/ some very light oak and chocolate. * Sergeant's Valor Select Rye - 93 proof, I loved this rye - even at 95% rye bill, it wasn't too spicy for me, it tasted dark, fully balanced and tasty with more of the pepper spice than anything else with some toasted oak flavors * Madam Colonel Gin - 80 proof, unique gin for sure - less on the juniper than lots of gins for sure, this gin highlighted citrus (orange peel) * Madam Colonel Pistachio Bourbon Cream - 40 proof, very tasty and my first Pistachio bourbon cream I've ever had. The nut flavor was slightly present but not overwhelming - easy to drink on it's own and probably fantastic in coffee or hot chocolate * Sergeant's Valor Gratitude (Super 62) - 106 proof, special blend I don't recall but very balanced, smooth and tasty with hints of oak and corn sweetness TOUR - the tour is $26 a person and lasts just shy of a full hour, and I had the fortune to have KATE as my tour guide. She was engaging, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable - her love for her workplace and the founders was evident. Absolutely a fantastic tour with her at the helm and I learned so much about Brad & Jessica which really helped the experience. You also get a custom rocks glass after your tasting which is not available for sale - you can only get the glass on the tour! Finally, I felt honored just to be here so close to Ft Bragg in the presence of 2 true American Heros, and during the tour we were outside when 2 military choppers literally flew overhead, almost as if it was planned (it wasn't). I got chills. Fantastic visit and I highly recommend when in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area, to visit this fine place!

Confession: I have a gluten intolerance, trust issues with menus, and zero patience for overcooked chicken. So walking into Brad Halling American Whiskey Ko. without seeing a menu beforehand? Bold move. I was fully prepared to sip water and watch my family eat. But wow--what a pleasant surprise. The menu may be small, but what they do, they do right. I ordered the chicken salad with the maple vinaigrette, and let me tell you, that dressing deserves its own fan club. Sweet, but not cloying--balanced like a good bourbon. And the chicken? Juicy, flavorful, NOT overcooked--something a few other spots in town need a crash course on. We came on a Friday night, and while the parking lot looked like a music festival, we found a table right away. I absolutely LOVED the seat-yourself and order-from-your-phone setup. No waiting for someone to notice you exist. No awkward mid-meal check-ins. Just good food, on your terms. A+ for that. Oh, and I may have "sampled" a few of my grandson's fries--crispy, golden perfection. Kid-approved and grandma-stolen. BHAWK just earned itself a spot in our regular Moore County dining rotation. And next time, I'm trying the whiskey.

I hesitated to write this because I do not enjoy saying anything remotely bad in any way about anything . This is a pretty big place. They have a full menu of food which all sounded amazing.. you do tasting actually at the bar. We sat ourselves outside so we could order food. We sat and watched as more people came and sat down most at least got water . It seemed like the server outside might have been training a male server so we hung on trying to be understanding. I was hungry by time we got here and was looking forward to trying a cocktail. Somehow time passed and I felt like we were being ignored or forgotten. We are not local to area we came from Jacksonville nc 2 and half hrs away for overnight stay and thought we'd try a distillery local. We got up finally and walked out.. I told hubby I wanted to go in gift shop fo tasting at least.. that beautiful young lady in gift store said we had to go to bar.. already a bit upset at wait in dining I did not want to go back inside. So again out we walked.. I explained to young lady in your room what had happened.. she needs a raise yall I mean she's all about a good experience and is all in for her company and she was amazing.. she followed us to the parking lot trying to do everything in her power to bring us back in and have good experience.. tried giving a coupon for follow up visit but we will more than likely not ever come back to area.. not because of this but just because we don't like area or what it offered.. I can not recommend this place because we didn't partake in anything at all.. might have been off day who knows but it's a beautiful place and most of staff was very nice and honestly tried to help but truth was as soon as we hit the door we were done and very hungry and it was too late to change our minds . I'm sure not a lot of people had this experience but it was the honest one we had..

Outdoor area with a big hill overlooking a forest. Great burger and drinks.

Honestly such a good stop from Surf City to Charlotte! A little off the path but the burger was incredible. They honored my dairy allergy and put it on sourdough bread. We sat outside with our dog and had such a nice time. The weather was perfect and the drinks were flavorful. Love the music too! Definitely a great place to roadtrip too! The servers were kind and service was 10/10. Also, one of the servers recommended a fold up dog bowl and we went to the store after and bought it! I wish they had XL dog bandannas

BHAWK is a distillery / restaurant owned by retired US Army Master Sergeant Brad Halling and his wife retired US Army Colonel Jessica Halling. It's been open roughly a year and the spirits they offer are top notch! We ended up purchasing a bottle of Sgt.'s Valor Bourbon, Gin and Vodka. We had a tasting after a tour which was great. The facility is awesome. We ate in the restaurant prior to the tour and the food is really good. We (table) split a charcuterie board and my wife and I shared a BLT. The food was fresh and delicious. The story of the founders is profound and inspiring. Sgt. Halling was a ten plus year veteran of the US Army and served with the special forces. He fought in the battle of Mogadishu in 1993. His wife is an attorney and served with the JAG (Judge Advocate General) during her military career. We met her on the tour. She was nice and added some insight on their inspiration for opening the distillery. Thank you for your service. If you're looking for a nice place to have a drink, buy some to quality spirits, or have a delicious lunch, this place is it.

Absolutely wonderful time! Beautiful built, decorated, and landscaped. You can feel the pride and love poured into this place. I like that you can scan a QR Code to order your food/drinks and even run a tab or closeout right from your table- a winner indeed! The chicken sandwich, fries, and peach bruschetta were delicious. I did feel that the chicken sandwich could be elevated with a light peach glaze added to the salsa, same with the bruschetta. The peach Old Fashion has a nice kick on the end. I was fortunate to meet Madam Colonel Jess at Bragg's Class 6 and she's simply amazing. If I lived here, I'd tag along with her as she promotes her brand- she's that awesome!

Even if you don't enjoy libations you will want to visit this distillery and take the tour. It is interesting and you will learn some fun facts. We were privileged to actually visit with the veterans who own and operate this amazing business as he is originally from Minnesota. This place was very busy all through the several hours we spent there. Food was delicious. They don't have a large menu of options but what the offer is well prepared. The whiskey is smooth and easy to drink. You will want to get a bottle for home use I'm certain and a unique offering is the cream pistachio liquor so grab that also! Thank you for your service!

Very nice place. The food is good, the fries are excellent and well seasoned. We had the smash burgers and a grilled chicken sandwich. For dessert we tried the peach cobbler which was delish. They were out of ice cream to go with it and the manager was kind enough to remove the cobbler from our ticket. A really popular outdoor seating area.

5 stars because there is no 8 star option. Becky is a wealth of knowledge, and Brad and Jessica are friendly and personable. The tour was fantastic, and the food in the restaurant was very good. I picked up three bottles of Madam Colonel Bourbon, Vodka, and Bourbon Cream. I thought pistachio was a very odd flavor until I tasted it, and it is now my FAVORITE Bourbon Cream. Keep it up, and hope to see you all again in about a month!!

Everything about this business was exceptional. The tour, tasting, shop and restaurant are run by people that obviously enjoy their craft and they make you feel like family. My meal (chicken sandwich) not only tasted fantastic but the food presentation was well received also.

This place is amazing! I happened to visit on Thursday, Nacho Night, and it did not disappoint…read more I had the Jamaican jerk pulled pork nachos, an IPA on draft, and a house margarita.
