Our previous insurance company wasn't terrible to deal with, but I heard less than great things about their coverage and wanted to check my options for both homeowners and auto policy. I first read about Hausman Kunkel from a coworker referral and was impressed by the feedback, and when our Realtor suggested him too, I gave his office a call. Calling Mike was easily the best decision regarding insurance I've ever made. After he gave us a quote, I explained to him that my (now) wife and I were in the middle of the most stressful month of our lives-- buying a house, getting married, going on a trip around the world and moving-- and how I might be a bit difficult to hunt down at times. He took it right in stride-- Mike got our hazard insurance lined up, coordinated with our Realtor and title, and got everything we needed in place, all with almost no participation from me. Several weeks later, when we were finally settled in our new house, he gave me very detailed explanations of different coverage options, got our cars on a (much better-- and cheaper-- than our old company) policy, and was totally helpful and easy to deal with. Until we met Mike, insurance was one of those unpleasant necessities-- a monthly bill to a faceless company that always put me on hold when I called an 800 number. Now I can honestly say I don't mind dealing with insurance because I know I'll be talking to Mike, who is honest, fair, responsive and interested in getting things done right for his clients. I had Allstate for as long as I should have insurance. Being lazy and finding the maze of auto insurance confusing enough, I always kept the same insurance. Come to think of it, the Allstate reps never did a followup with me to review my growing needs to see if my coverage needed adjustment. When I signed DIA as my client, it was then I learned that there's an "aggregate" service like it around. Parthiv was able to shop around many reputable providers and consult me on the different coverages. And get this, I was able to increase my coverage at less the cost of what Allstate would be charging me! And wouldn't you know it, a month after my new insurance took place, my car was in a hit-and-run. Thankfully, I wasn't in it. I contacted my new provider and was able to have it resolved easily over the phone and at the collision shop. Shortly after, I received a call from Parthiv who must have gotten some paperwork notification from my insurance company. He was calling to see how I was doing, if I had been hurt etc. How thoughtful was that! Being the non-savvy bean counter that I am, I happened to go over my credit card bill the other day and discovered what I thought was a "discrepancy". I called Parthiv to have him look into it. He was patient and promptly got back in touch with me IN WRITING and clarified a few things. Then again, I got into a little snafu (which I can't go much into), and solicited Parthiv's advice, and again, he was thorough and provided me the information to handle it. I highly recommend you give him a call for a no-obligation lookover of your existing coverage, and see if he can come up with a better option.
