Geico has lost my trust after they unjustly charged a friend and neighbor of mine for $9.99 because they claimed that she terminated her auto policy 'in an inappropriate manner'. My neighbor had called before her policy ended and her new policy was to begin. She terminated her Geico policy because Geico raised her 6 month policy twice in 1 year to $1000 for 6 six months. She is 89 and lives on a small monthly pension and her driving record is clean with no traffic tickets and no accidents. Geico even threatened to send the collection agency after her, which would ruin her credit record over $9.99. So, if you are looking for auto insurance and you enjoy watching Geico commercials on television, make sure you ask about Geico's terminating policy before you purchase their auto protection. I wouldn't want anybody to agonize over unjust billing or to be threatened with a collection agency. read more

I love GEICO but today I had a flat fire so I called road assistance and they sent a guy out from towing company and the Jack he had was small he could get my tire up to change it. So I called the manager of the towing company Mike telling him that the Jack was not strong enough for my car. He said I was rude and told the driver to leave me stranded and not to help me. I called GEICO and told them if they have ppl like this I would need to change my insurance. I need to feel confident that if my car breaks down or needs a tire change. Geico insurance in general ,i was driving a 1993 gmc safari in june this year switched to a a 2002 chevy astro van , they hand no problem taking my money then and came to find out from the state of illinois inquiring about my insurance, so called Geico sat on hold for 50 minutes only to find out that they dropped me something about my vehicle but got no reason why , and i was never sent any kind of notice from them about it so not sure how many months been driving without insurance , and was with the more then 10 years, so no will never tell any body to insure thru them read more

This review is based solely on walk-in service for a quote. I don't think I have noticed the number of insurance offices there were...until I was on Day 21 of my grace period after my insurance expired. Yes, I know, *PROCRASTINATOR ALERT*. But, it goes to show the immediacy of care this office is able to provide! I am 27 years old, admittedly a millennial, and know absolutely zilch when it comes to auto insurance (any insurance, in fact). I will shamelessly admit how little I know about financial literacy. The night before, I requested a quote on Geico Online. I honestly had no idea what I was choosing (just with the direction of a family friend that works for State Farm). She did the best she could to explain terms like "bodily injury", "property damage liability", "comprehensive vs. collision", etc. But even with the quote online...I was still so confused. Clearly different insurance companies bundle coverage differently (in regards to uninsured/underinsured motorist). I was driving to meet a friend, all while talking to my State Farm family friend, with a huge sense of urgency to get auto insurance coverage as soon as humanly possible. I don't believe in higher beings, but I saw two Geico billboards en route, and literally one block from my destination, I spotted this lovely Geico office. I made a U-turn and decided to stop in. The office itself is bare bones, but I remained positive that their customer service/services would not reflect their office space. I was greeted with friendly faces at the front desk. They promptly took my information and I was directed to Ryan Schroeder, within minutes. Ryan was knowledgeable, relatable, and patient. He worked with me to adjust the horrid quote I had finagled the night before. He explained each coverage in layman's terms and gave real life examples to make them comprehensible. His quote for my circumstances and vehicle were extremely fair, compared to my current coverage with State Farm. Ryan is clearly dedicated to provide honest, transparent quotes for coverages. It is clear he cares about his clients' well being, because he was concerned that my "grace period" would be considered a lapsed coverage if I waited too long. Ultimately, I did not end up signing with Geico; however, it is my hope that perhaps Ryan can provide an affordable quote for you (understanding that each person has different circumstances and vehicles). I had geico for 15 years, I never filed a claim. I had a minor change in personal situation and they canceled me without notification, first breaking into two policies without notification then failing to tell me they needed my updated payment into since I now had two polices which I never knew about since I never knew they had made any changes last alone approved them. This specific branch of GEICO has provided me with stellar service, for what is now 7 years (2008-2015). They've been resourceful, timely, and empathetic with all of my accidents, questions, and policies. Speaking to GEICO overall, my car was totaled in February 2015, and I received a check for a very reasonable #, in April, with minimal hassle on my end. I don't see myself ever leaving GEICO, as long as my rates stay fair! read more

Had an awful experience today with geico. I needed a new policy off of my parents. The sales guy told me it would cost me $638 for 6 months. I said okay and gave him my credit card info. I received an email with confirmation. When I logged in online with my new policy number I saw that he had charged me $690. I called immediately and spoke with a supervisor who then told me yet another number that it should be $660. I told her it was a recorded conversation and it's unacceptable for someone to tell you one price and then charge your card another. She did not care and she let me cancel my policy. I went with statefarm who gave me a cheaper price. Even though geico was supposedly giving me "the best price" for having homeowner insurance with them as well. They will never have my business again and anyone reading this I hope you think twice before choosing geico. read more

I had GEICO insurance until recently when I got into my first car accident in over 10 yrs. The agent that I dealt with personally was great but the company is a sell out. First the guy I was in an accident with argued with the judge then threw a fit on his way out of the courthouse when he found out I wasn't going to personally cut him a check. I had all the pictures and posts from social media where it was posted how everyone was ok and the excuses he had for not having his young children in car seats. I attempted to call GEICO repeatedly to alert them to all of this and send them the info. No reply from them they just paid him so I made what I thought was a logical decision drop the company that cares more about making a situation go away rather than stand behind your client and what's right. My car got stolen and certain parts are destroyed and missing. ABriner@Geico.com is supervisor of my adjuster REngel@Geico.com They are refusing to cover: Dashboard camera. He says it needs to be attached with bolts and brackets. Camera was glued to dashboard. It was permanently attached. Flashlight. No direct response, but he accidentally sent me an email instead of his colleague REngel@Geico.com that flashlight is supposed to be attached with bolts and brackets as well. Flashlight has been put in my Jeep in Jeep's factory. It's not my personal belonging. Brake pads, disks, wheel bearing and I don't know what else is destroyed by reckless driving. ABrined said he needs proof that brakes were services. I did send him prof from Car Fax, but there is no reply from anyone. My brakes were working fine before the accident. I had my brakes checked during my last oil change. He is refusing email communication with me. He is also refusing me to record phone calls, regardless of Geico recording each call. My tires are destroyed. Vandal that stole my car was hitting curb or something with tires and wheel rims. At first, one tire was approved and put on the estimate. Then two additional tires were approved, but I never got anything for them. I have been given estimate for aftermarket parts. I have been waiting for days before I had simple response from Geico. My car is still at mechanic. I'm using rental car and I asked 7 days extension. But I doubt someone will approve it today. And Monday is holiday, so it looks like I will be left without car or I will have to cover renting. I asked for email address of his superior but he didn't provide any. Geico will not help you when you need them the most. We planned to rent a truck to move all of our belongings half way across the country. A week before our move I rented a truck and called Geico to make sure I was insured to drive the truck and did not have to buy additional insurance through the rental company. A Geico representative told me I was covered and did not have to buy additional insurance, so we were set. Unfortunately, we had an accident with the truck during the move. I immediately contacted Geico and filed a claim when I was told that everything would be covered and not to worry. Months go by and the bills come in from the accident. One by one Geico begins to refuse to pay the bills for any reason they can find. Geico uses loop holes in contracts to justify not paying for this or that and it is a second job talking to all these people to get Geico to pay what they are supposed to pay. They make getting a claim paid out extremely hard and do their best not to pay what they rightfully should! I had the unfortunate realization that Geioc employees get bonuses for not paying out claims and they do their best not to pay the claims that they are supposed to. They continue to not pay for some of the damages and are trying to stick me with a hefty bill ($1,000s of dollars in damages!)! This is not right. Geico has told me before and after the accident that I am covered but when it's time to pay the bills they are anything but helpful and responsible. I continue to have to call Geico, and the other parties involved, trying to get this resolved but to no end. My family and I have paid Geico thousands of dollars for insurance over the years and we would have been better off paying them nothing so we can cover the expenses ourselves. They make paying a claim as big a hassle on purpose so you give up and they don't have to fulfil their end of the insurance contract, to pay the bills for an accident that you are supposedly "covered" on. Geico is only concerned about making a profit and not helping its customers, especially when they need it the most. Geico does not believe in customer loyalty. I was a great customer, and a good driver. I don't get into accidents or get moving violations. I even signed up for the automatic payment withdrawals so that i can always be on time with payments. Recently there was a glitch in the billing process and they automatically cancelled my policy. They didn't even inform me! No email, no letter, not even a phone call. When i called to see what happened, they said that the policy could be re-instated however my rate will be going up! Now I am being penalized for their glitch! How is that fair? I mean isn't it common sense that a person who signs up for automatic payments wouldn't be the type of person that wouldn't care about if he or she missed a payment? If you need car insurance and you are thinking of Geico, DONT. Believe me they don't care and never look out for you. I also find it amusing that this review was posted on their website: GEICO was rated superior by consumers again in 2007 for its customer advocacy. Forrester defines it as "the perception by customers that a firm [GEICO] does what's best for them, not just what's best for its own bottom line." That is a complete lie!!!! read more
