After getting a 2nd opinion and talking with my dentist about it they called me again in Sept 2017. I said fine, let's see if they will be any better. Nope, consultation was nothing I hadn't already heard 1 1/2 years earlier and still no forward progress. Today I got a $55 bill in the mail from them for the consultation in Sept, this was on top of the $200 some dollar payment I made at the time of my first visit. Would definitely not recommend this office based solely on the zero communication I received from them. Pretty much wasted my time and delayed my treatment.

Got there early today only to find out I wasn't on the schedule and they were full and couldn't see me. The doctors may be great, but I left a different Metro Dental location due to incompetent reception/scheduling staff. I'm not putting up with that frustration again and will be taking my specialty dental needs elsewhere. I'd urge you to do the same!

I sent him an email describing how I had been told I need gum surgery, a Tuberosity Reduction, before new dentures could be made for me. This was through Family Smiles of Burnsville. Once again, he surprised me by replying that he would give me another free consultation. I, finally, called to set up an appointment. He answered my call! Then he called me back to set it up himself. I was amazed. Dr. Adarve examined my gums and told me I don't need surgery, if he makes my dentures. He was honest when he explained I've had a lot of bone loss due to wearing dentures for so long so I still will have difficulty with my lower denture staying in. I shared that I have used Denttach7 to keep it in better. He asked if I still use it. I affirmed I am because it cushions my gums and helps with keeping my denture from flopping around. He accepted this explanation and I think he was thinking he is going to recommend it to his other patients who also have this dilemma. Then he said lets get this ball rolling and set up an appointment for March to begin getting my dentures made. After putting up with shoddy dentures for seven years, I am looking so forward to getting new dentures from a physician who has many credentials, including his teachers' award. He still is teaching at the University of Minnesota and is on the board of dentistry. Look up his credentials. I've been to many dentists, prosthodontists, etc, in my lifetime. I have only met a few that shows the care that Dr. Adarve does. He has many awards from the whole time he has been treating patients in his visiting room. I, highly, recommend you go to him for your dental care. I don't think there is any better, especially who still makes dentures for those patients who, either, can't have implants or can't afford them.

Rather than charging us the estimate out of pocket we would pay based on previous experience with Delta insurance they just put all of the bills on our credit card. Then we were the ones who had to follow up to get everything rectified, corrected and matched up to what our insurance company had paid. This is not how other people do business around here. Close to $1000 worth that we should not have had to pay upfront was returned.

I even changed my insurance to be able to check this place out! I absolutely was not disappointed. Plenty of parking available in the shared lot with other businesses in the building. The office is very inviting, clean, and organized. The staff has been top notch throughout all of my communication and visits so far. Major shout out to Jenna, who went out of her way to welcome me, learn about my needs/anxieties, and make sure that I felt at home and safe. She even offered local recommendations since I'm newer to the area. My favorite part of the visit was that they offered a menu of items to make me feel more comfortable in the chair! I chose a stress ball for this visit, but might choose additional items on future cleanings! Why not make it feel like a spa visit? HUGE shout-out to my hygienist, Eriel!! She was probably one of the best hygienists I've ever had. She was non-judgemental, sweet, kind, explanatory, and made sure I was doing well and comfortable throughout the visit. We had great conversation, and I felt like she had genuine interest in making sure I was in a good spot. I'd highly recommend her! Dr. Heidi Smith, was also very friendly and helpful during my exam! Lastly, I think they did an amazing job of being upfront and honest about cost throughout my visit. Anything not covered by insurance was very clearly articulated and I felt like I had full control of whether or not I said yes or no to the options. This is huge, because no one likes to be surprised with a massive bill at the end of your routine service. I can't wait to keep coming back to Heart of the City!

The doctor and staff were aware that we were working under a deadline to complete the treatment in time for a scheduled surgery that my mother had been waiting several months to have completed. The day before my mother's final treatment, 2 weeks before the scheduled surgery, the office called and said they could not treat my mother because they considered her a fall risk. I can understand their concern about my mother's condition, but they could have notified us of their concerns a week earlier at her last appointment. We had to cancel arrangements for transportation at a cost of $70 because of the short notice cancellation, and my mother's surgery may have to be postponed. This was ridiculously inconsiderate of the staff at Allen & Holm. And may cost my mother additional months of pain if her surgery is postponed. We will not be returning.
