I've been a patient here for a few years and it's a decent group. Of course, I like some dentists more than others but overall, they are capable and I would trust most of them. There have been a few hiccups (my appointment got canceled a few years back due to admin error so I showed up and was turned away and there was another instance where I felt I was being upsold for treatments that my insurance didn't cover and wouldn't need) but those are only a few instances. Most of the staff and doctors are friendly otherwise. I'm still here as a customer after almost a decade so they're doing things mostly right. read more

Service great. Facility very tired. This dentist office needs major renovations. Popcorn ceiling tiles, peeling wallpaper - everywhere; chipped Formica countertops and even old TVs that squash the Today Show. Carpet squares, clocks, trash cans, picture frames....it's all stuck in 1992. Not to mention the lack of privacy in the exam rooms. Nothing modern here. read more

My wife suggested I visit Valley Dental to get an opinion on what it would take to cosmetically improve all of the teeth that I ground down while in college so many years ago. Valley Dental is home to dental professionals of varied disciplines, making it easy to bring in others for consult if needed. We were familiar with Valley's general dentistry as they gracefully treated my 93-year old mother-in-law when she relocated to the Twin Cities. Since then, my daughter has switched to Valley Dental, and I will be using them for my dental needs going forward. I saw Dr. Gerstner, a well-regarded prosthodontist to discuss my options. We had a straightforward, enlightening discussion about the approach, challenges and cost to create a "new smile"; something I decided not to pursue given the very high (but not unexpected) out-of-pocket cost. The administrative staff was very helpful on check-in and check-out. They shared a price sheet with me that helped convince me to go to them for my dental needs. I will update this review if my opinion changes, but I am anticipating very good service going forward! read more

I've never felt compelled to write a review for a dental provider, but after meeting with Dr. Klump and his assistant Mical, I cannot help but hope to help out patients looking for informative and caring dental personnel. After seeking aid from other local periodontists who were unable to provide adequate answers to dental issues I was experiencing, after one consultation and exam by Dr.Klump, I immediately felt reassured by his assessment and body of knowledge relating to my issue. His bubbly and kind assistant Mical was also so gentle and attentive when initially asking questions and ensuring I was pleased with the services she and Dr. Klump rendered. It's hard to come across providers that are genuinely concerned with providing comprehensive assistance without focusing on moving patients along to adhere to a time schedule. Dr.Klump's focus and attentiveness in answering my questions was more than I could have asked for and I will only seek the aid of Valley Dental providers moving forward. read more

Like everyone (except maybe masochists, no judgment), I hate going to the dentist. I've had my fair share of traumatic dental and orthodontic experiences (hello, braces and head gear!). I've also had lapses in dental insurance, resulting in a few years of NOT going to the dentist at all. Such was the case before I started going to Valley Dental Group--it had been at least 2-3 years since my last dental exam. A coworker recommended this place to me, and I've only had positive experiences. The entire staff there is super friendly, and Dr. Jordan is awesome! The dental assistants are thorough but gentle. Never once have I been shamed for not flossing regularly (ahem, or at all really, other than the night before my appointment and occasionally after eating corn on the cob), though they do take the time to educate me about stuff, like which areas of my teeth & gums I should be paying extra attention to, and why. All of these things combine to make my trips to the dentist much less scary! read more

Dental visits are on par with a harsh interrogation in my past experiences...so naturally a visit to the dentist has been a source of angst for me. I recently switched from a large local dental group due to the unfriendly, "you are a number" attitude I received each time I had any procedure done. A visit to Valley Dental Group in Golden Valley is such a unique, pleasant experience that I felt compelled to write this review about a topic that until now has been something I usually put to the back of my mind, like a bad nightmare. My fiancee and her family have been patients at Valley Dental for a while, so I made a call and found it very easy to make an appointment for an initial consultation and a cleaning. They sent me a packet in the mail to fill out in advance, so I wouldn't be stuck spending my morning filling out forms...and could relax. I showed up at 7:45 in the morning and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist, who offered me coffee (not something I'm used to dental offices having). I asked if they had free wi-fi...unfortunately not, which ends up as the only disappointing part of my visit. I met with Dr. Kelsey Sharpe for my initial consultation, and she was very friendly, and made a point to explain all of the issues I should be concerned with regarding my teeth. She had a great sense of humor, and was very engaging. So often I have experienced an almost "mean" or "grumpy" attitude from dentists...like they have a million patients to visit, and they are having to rush through seeing you. This was not the case at Valley Dental. Turns out...I had no cavities! If you go to Valley Dental, ask for Kelsey...she's probably the nicest dentist I have ever met. Other staff are just as friendly, and I could tell they really appreciate their patients, and truly care about their well-being. I am glad to have found a "home" at Valley Dental...and am glad I no longer have that sinking feeling when thinking about a dental visit. This place rocks. read more

She refused to even schedule the appointment without first verifying the insurance even though we are on both on the same policy. I will not be going back to this location. read more

My far my most favorite dentist office every. I've been with them for many years now and have tried other offices d/t insurance changes, but I keep coming back...even when they may be out of network. They're, more or less, always on time. The staff is very nice and accommodating. it's always such a nice visit. The hygienist an dentist have great bedside manner. The don't super smell list a dentist office either, which is nice. They have coffee and water in the lobby as well as a plethora of magazines. There's a coat hanging area when you walk in. As someone who grew up dreading the dentist, to say I look forward to my cleanings now is a big compliment. The team at Valley Dental are always there to help educate and work with you. I had my most recent cleaning yesterday and my curious mind was asking questions about each step in the process. My hygienist was more than happy to explain every question I asked. "Dr Pearson" did not accommodate a nursing mom with a 4 day old baby who was late 15minutes because of breast feeding, and told the office she was late and was told to still come. This is one of the meanest human beings I ever met. Inappropriate valley dental!! read more

Very friendly and seems like good people. Just in for a consult for now but hope to return for some dental work! Until you try and get in. While the dentist and hygienists were quite nice it is clear that their receptionists need some training. Not only did they forget to put on the books one of the two appointments I called to schedule at the same time (they made me wait half an hour in between as it wasn't in the computer when I arrived)- they were not upfront about my level of coverage when I made the appointment. I asked multiple times to clarify and was given the wrong information about the level of insurance when I made the appointments. I won't be coming back. read more

I highly recommend Valley Dental Group, especially Dr. John Gerstner. I had broken my tooth and had a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist. . I got in the very next day with Dr. Gerstner. He was so calming, professional, and exceptionally skilled at what he does. I left with a perfect white tooth after 20 (surprisingly) agony-free minutes in his chair. This dental practice cares more about money than dental care. Received numerous pages of payment policy; it was also mentioned when I scheduled the appointment. They wanted additional money for oral cancer screening. Since when is this not part of the dental exam!!! Waited a long time. Staff is unfriendly and dentist is worse. When discussing a dental issue, the dentist showed no interest and wanted no conversation. Do not go here!!! read more
