Unfortunately the first local contractor I hired took my deposit and disapeared. I was heartbroken and didn't know who to trust. A friend of mine with another cabin in the area told me about Justin and JIT. Since I live Seattle I needed a contractor who would be extremely communicative. Justin and his team were amazing with communication! I got regular updates, progress photos, and fast responses that made me feel like I was there, even though I was two hours away. Justin took time to understand my vision. He asked how I imagined the cabin feeling when it was finished and carefully looked through my Pinterest and Instagram ideas. He's so creative and thoughtful. I approved many of his suggested updates that helped bring modern comfort while keeping the kind of rustic charm my grandparents loved to talk about so much. They expanced and remodeled the master bathroom plus added a double vanity and luxury rain shower with multiple shower heads that feels like a private mountain spa. In the kitchen, Justin suggested live-edge countertops that kept a handcrafted feel and the specialty finishing work which full of character, refinished floors, warm natural tones, and trim that looked original but new again. They built custom bunk beds for my kids which guests absolutely love and adds real value for short-term rentals. They installed some smart home features and cameras that help me manage and keep an eye on the cabin from a distance. They also did some landscaping work and installed landscape lighting that brings out the natural beauty of the forest around the cabin at night. It feels magical! My kids are thrilled and the cabin started booking almost immediately! Guests constantly comment on how it feels both cozy and modern with just the right mix of old and new. Since then, I've had JIT back several times for small projects and quick repairs between guest stays. They're always fast, dependable, and incredibly kind which means so much when the cabin's only vacant for a day or just a few hours at a time. They've also provided cleaning services for me a few times when I've been in a pinch. After being burned before, finding someone as honest, creative, and communicative as Justin was such a relief. His team built a covered 16x20 deck, two patios, added new fencing, did lots of ground prep and drainage work, installed pet friendly walkways and artificial turf, and helped beautify our plants/trees. Luke handled all of the planning and signoff with the architect and city on the deck design. He helped make sure the design would actually look really good when built, and when issues emerged with the city's requirements for the permit, he worked diligently to get it all resolved. Luke also went boulder, paver, and plant shopping with us. He made sure what we picked would actually work, and once we picked something out, he made it happen. Luke handled so many of the planning and logistical details for us, was super communicative throughout the process, and gave us lots of ideas to address challenges we were facing in our original space. He was a great listener and continually adjusted the plan to make sure the design fit our aesthetic and functional goals. His team also took such great care of our space. Such thoughtful design and attention to custom details. When we were on the fence about decisions, he'd help show us what either looked like, so we'd feel good about the decision. The project was to demo 800 square feet of 30 year old tile and install new tile flooring that runs from the large entry way under the front door into the living room of my house. With huge plate glass windows throughout the space. There was also a rainwater drainage issue that needed a solution. All my concerns about the tile layout and sloping for drainage and protecting the big windows were all addressed both upfront and throughout process. This job included removing the old tiles, machine grinding to remove old cement and rebuilding of the cement base outside, putting in a new drainage pipe through a cement frame under a glass wall and then installing the new tile. The end result is a beautiful new tile floor. I highly recommend DJ and his team to handle your home remodel projects.

I believe they have the skill set to do basic repairs and projects. Maybe even more than easy, but it seems when any sort of adversity comes the quality falters. I had a driveway done, which does look nice, but ended up cracking in quite a few places. Not two or three places, but all over. Cracking across the majority of the driveway. I asked about any sort of warranty, having one or two cracks I could've looked past it. When it continued and started cracking all over it got frustrating. Especially when JD came out and looked at the cracks and told me he would ask his concrete guys about a fix. (At this point I was already anticipating he would NOT get back to me, and what do you know. Ghosted.) No communication after that, no attempts to update me on any sort fix. For anyone that reads the reviews. You'll notice the out of country, had an emergency excuse. He used that excuse with me as well after blowing us off for multiple days at a time. Seems fishy. Cheap contractor. Cheap work. Bad customer service. I'd recommend to do your due diligence and get more quotes especially if these guys are your only one. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

While they were working on the trim, they brought to my attention a piece of trim in seriously sad shape. It looked good until touched then you could put your finger thru it. This caused about an extra 1/2 day to repair correctly. This included having to special fit all of the wood as when the trim was put in they used plywood. It took a few days as expected. They showed up ready to work. They did a great job. Was definitely worth the money. I am planning on using them again to replace the frame for my back door.
