I got my fence installed a year or so ago. They use pipe in post so it lasts a long time. My fence was installed quickly, and they even cut the cement tiles that I had as paving stones to fit back where they went. I also needed the width of the gate widened because originally they made the opening too narrow, so they were able to widen the opening before the rest of the fence was installed. I appreciate them checking with me halfway through the project. A few weeks ago one of the posts was failing I put in a warranty claim. They came out quickly and replaced it. We reached out to Cool Cat for a quote earlier this year and a younger salesman came out to discuss options and provide a quote. There was an incentive to sign a contract that day, which did state a deposit needed to be made. We expressed needing some time to think and didn't feel too pressured by the company to sign. Yes, they did reach out to us once in a while before we officially signed, (took us a bit to figure things out) but seemed like the normal type of sales check ins. In the end, we decided to move forward with Cool Cat and had a pretty decent experience with them. Yes, they're a bit more pricey than some others but we felt like overall the quality seemed better. The communication was a little spotty in the sense of being bounced around from project managers throughout the process. I don't believe the PM we were speaking with was there during fence installation. I'm thankful that they were pretty responsive with us when we had questions. In the end they did a great job and were happy with the fence. They worked quickly and efficiently and didn't leave a mess thankfully. We contacted Cool Cat Fence after being impressed by their Google reviews and marketing, which heavily emphasize a simple, transparent, and stress-free experience. Unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite from start to finish. Our scheduled appointment time came and went without any communication from the company. We ultimately had to make multiple calls and send multiple texts just to determine whether our appointment was still happening. After being told the appointment would need to be rescheduled, we continued trying to get answers and eventually heard from Jared, who informed us he was driving from Maple Valley and would be coming to our appointment. The estimate presentation itself had some positives. We appreciated being able to see the fence design and pricing breakdown on the iPad in real time, which helped us better understand the project and costs. However, the biggest issue arose when we later realized we had apparently signed a contract and authorized a $6,000 deposit, despite repeatedly and very clearly communicating that we were still gathering estimates from multiple contractors and were not prepared to make a decision that day. At no point did we believe we were entering into a binding agreement. We believed we were reviewing an estimate and discussing options. When we requested that the contract be canceled, a discount was immediately offered in an apparent effort to keep the sale. We also found it concerning that after a discount was discussed, the revised quote still reflected the original pricing. What stood out most throughout this process was how often we felt we had to advocate for ourselves. We had to chase down communication regarding the appointment, question what we had signed, request cancellation, and specifically ask for written confirmation of the cancellation and refund. At nearly every step, it felt like the burden was on us to get clear answers. After this experience, we met with another fencing company whose representative had previously worked for Cool Cat Fence. During our conversation, he stated that many of the company's sales and business tactics were very deliberate, very intentional, and specifically designed to pressure customers into making decisions on the spot. He explained that he ultimately chose to leave because he personally did not feel comfortable with the tactics being used and did not want to continue being associated with that approach. After our own experience, that information was difficult to ignore. We were also surprised to find reviews from customers alleging that the company offered incentives, discounts, or other compensation in exchange for removing or changing negative reviews. Prospective customers should take the time to read through reviews carefully and draw their own conclusions. I also sent a detailed email directly to management outlining our concerns in the hope that the feedback would help improve the customer experience for future customers. Despite receiving the manager's email address directly and sending that feedback, I never received any response. The contract was ultimately canceled and our deposit was refunded, which was the outcome we had requested immediately after we realized Jared was trying to take advantage of us. The entire experience left us frustrated, anxious, and upset about what had happened. Do not believe all these 5 star reviews. Very strange experience with these guys. Called to get an estimate on a damaged gate. Super nice guy showed up and talked me through the estimate and the repair. He quoted a price that seemed only slightly low, but reasonable. He said they'd fit the job in the following week. The appointment for repair came and went and no one showed. I reached out by text, which is how he had been communicating with me and I got no response. Eventually I got an email from an unnamed person stating that they could not do the repairs for the quoted cost. I said "ok, what would the estimate be?" and they ghosted me. Requested a quote for fence replacement and repair. A gentlemen stopped by, made some measurements, and begin to explain that fence posts could not be replaced without replacing panels on each side of the post. What I did not tell him that two other fencing contractors were out and both bid $1,200 to replace five posts, and neither mentioned replacing panels. So was Cool Cat Fence trying to pull a fast one n me? Each of these other fencing contractors quoted between $11,000 and $12,000, one verbally when he came out to measure, the other later in the evening via email. Bait and switch quote. I received 1 quote with 4 options (2 wood, 2 steel) for fencing shared with my north and south neighbors, another for a gate in an existing fence, and another for walkway railing (in reality just another fence). Both neighbors chose to hold for competitive bids on our shared fencing and I opted for competitive bids on the railing/fence, so I asked CCF to proceed with the gate on the existing fence within the "good for 15 day" quote guarantee and When I told CCF I could not proceed with the fence replacement quote, they raised the gate quote by 50% "since the first quote was contingent on doing the bigger jobs." At no time did the rep say or indicate that the quotes were contingent and each was presented on a separate standalone quote document. The strange twist to this story is I had previously used CCF and was thoroughly happy with the work they performed. But in this case the rep was unprofessional in the manner he and CCF just blew me off, ignored my overtures to speak with management, never bothering to explain or negotiate, or in anyway try to preserve the goodwill earned up to this point in such a petty manner. read more

We met with Erik from sales last week at our home and agreed to go with Cool Cat because they were able to fit us in quickly and replicate the gate we had, only two feet taller for our dogs. I had another company bidding but went with these guys after I spent about an hour with Erik talking through the price, timeline, specs., etc. We discussed where the 4x4 posts should be, the pressure treated wood, that we wanted something that was almost identical to the existing fence, just newer and taller. What we got was a crew of rude men who flew into our property in a van, never introduced themselves until I went out and asked them if they were from the fencing company, and were generally rude. We have other people working on our house and these guys just took up all of the space, were incredibly rude to us and the other workers here. I spoke with the first man who acknowledged, and later all of them acknowledged, they had not seen the pictures of the design, asked about what size posts to put in which I told them should be a 4x4 several times and yet they tacked in a couple of 2x4's instead. I raised concerns several times to the crew who were smirking and saying it was fine while I shared concerns and had to call supervisors several times finally asking that the crew leave my property until I could meet with a representative from the company because we are so unhappy with how this is going. The crew broke a plate glass window we had against the house where they should not have even been, but appear to have thrown tools in the yard and hit the glass while tossing loose dirt in our plants. They also parked in the bus lane in front of our house and would not leave until I pointed it out several times, said it was illegal, and took a picture of one of the vans. You can see, there is plenty of parking across the street! Shoddy work, poor employees, poor products used, and negligible response thus far from the company. I am really hoping to be able to come back and say that this company made it right when we speak with them tomorrow. If not, I will follow up with what we got for our $1355.00 payment for a 4" length of fence/gate. read more

They installed a fence at my neighbor's house. While installing the fence they hit the power line that fed into my home. This was Thanksgiving Eve. I hired an electrician to see why I was having power surges. He traced it back to where the fence posts had been placed. I called PSE to come examine and fix the powerline. They determined Cool Cat Fence damaged the line and billed them for repairing the line. Cool Cat said they would reimburse me for my monetary damages. Please see attached pictures. I had to hire the electrician, replace my garage door opener, breakers, light bulbs, microwave and dishwasher. I supplied them with the receipts. Rather than repaying me, they had both PSE and myself file a claim with their insurance carrier Liberty Mutual. Liberty Mutual declined both of our claims. I just recently hired a lawyer to recover my loss. read more

There's a reason this company has such so many very high reviews--they are excellent! The windstorms finally took down my 20-year old fence due to numerous posts rotting and snapping over the years. I absolutely loved their online quote estimator tool--it proved quite accurate in my case. Peyton came out, did the detailed estimate and answered all of my questions. I approved the work on Friday and the work itself was scheduled for Monday! Bodhan and his crew came out and did a fantastic job. Despite estimating 2.5 days, they finished ahead of schedule in just 2 days. Communication was great. They arrived promptly each morning, asked detailed questions about how I wanted the fence constructed, and left my yard looking pristine. The fence is gorgeous post-on-pipe so I should not have to suffer again any rotted fence posts. Honestly, I feel like I got a premium fence at a great price. Based on some other quotes I received, I suspect I would have other companies as much or more for an inferior product. Details that I appreciated and differentiated them from other companies: 1) Love the only estimator tool on their website. My experience with Cool Cat Fencing was extremely disappointing. Communication throughout the project was poor and inconsistent. We rarely received updates from the crew, and when we did, the information was unclear and difficult to follow. Despite being told that a foreman named Jose would oversee the work, we never saw him on site and had to contact the office just to get a response to our messages. Due to the lack of communication, the fence was installed incorrectly--with the finished side facing inward toward our house and the unfinished side, including visible beams and brackets, facing the street. When we brought this to the company's attention, they refused to correct the mistake. Even a simple request to reverse the gate orientation was denied. Unfortunately, by that point, the full payment had already been processed through the financing company they work with. Extremely unprofessional and dishonest experience. I hired Cool Cats Fencing to install a fence in my backyard, and the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. The workmanship was poor and the job was left incomplete. The crew never cleaned up after themselves--metal clippings, screws, scraps, soda cans, and gloves were left scattered throughout my yard. Their work habits were disruptive and inappropriate. They routinely showed up late, left in the middle of the day for several hours, and then worked until 9:00 pm. Even when asked to stop and leave, they continued running saws and drills late into the evening, disturbing my family and neighbors. They also placed a company flag in my yard without my permission. When the fence was "finished," no one did a walkthrough with me or asked if the work was acceptable. I had to call them myself to report multiple issues, including crooked fencing, gates installed incorrectly, and damage to my home, yard, and heat pump. They did send someone out for repairs, but that only added to the frustration. The person could not speak English and relied on a phone translator that did not work, did not have the proper tools, and was clearly not prepared to address the issues. I had to miss work to be home for this, only to have problems remain unresolved. Given everything I went through, I asked for a discount. I received a voicemail at 5:50 pm stating they would take $100 off. The very next afternoon, I was told they were sending my account to collections. To make matters worse, after I posted a Google review, they called and offered me $200 to take it down. I declined. I will not be paid to hide the truth. This is not an honest or professional company. The cost of working with them goes far beyond money--it's the time, stress, and damage you're left dealing with afterward. I received 5 separate quotes for fencing quotes around my property. Two required participation from my bordering neighbors , but they were not ready to proceed at this time. I opted (within the 15 day quote guarantee) to proceed with one of the smaller jobs not dependent on the neighbors, but the rep (Philip) said since I wasn't contracting for the large jobs, he was raising the price of the small job by about 50%. At no time when quoting did the rep say any of the quotes were contingent upon any other work. I tried calling the office for a better explanation, but they ignored me and never returned my calls.
