We walked into this gallery while wandering around Pismo Beach just to look at the galleries. My…read morewife was overcome with emotion upon seeing the "Walk of Faith" limited edition print that was displayed. We left after touring the gallery with the owner, Esther. She is extremely knowledgeable about Thomas Kinkade art and shared a lot of personal information about him that came from her, and her husband's, personal relationship with the artist prior to his death. We could not get that picture out of our minds. So, after much discussion, we went back and purchased the 24" x 36" print with the frame. The print is still there as we elected to wait until an artist "textured", or highlighted it to look more like an original painting. Normally a $300 fee is charged for that, but Esther informed us that they had an artist coming in November who would do it free, with us in attendance, so we elected to wait until then to pick up our print. Esther was very helpful and is a very charming lady, who gave us hugs when we finally left. I would highly recommend this gallery to anyone, whether they are fans of Thomas Kinkade or have never heard of him. They have some of the most beautiful artwork you can imagine.

Unlike other things of dubious distinction, his work is not an acquired taste - you either love it or don't, and I don't. I find it too reminiscent of the paint-by-number kits popular during my childhood to warrant much admiration. In deference to those whose home decor includes multiple samples of his output, I'll award this three stars as an ideal place for you to indulge your questionable taste.

As an art lover, I think Studios on the Park is a MUST VISIT if you're ever in Paso Robles!…read more This is a large space in the downtown area, right in the main park. It is a brightly-lit, high ceiling building that has a collection of artwork (for sale!) from multiple local talents of various mediums. I went in to look, but walked out with 2 multi-media oil painting-newspaper pieces from an artist named Holly whom I even got to meet! It was incredible to get to chat with her about what inspired her to create this kind of work. Then at checkout, my eyeballs deceived me by wandering to some cool glass-blown plant stick decorations that were made from the last Disney glass blower. So, I, of course, *had* to buy a couple of those delightful beauties! Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming; there is much to look at and much to do there; it is also a place that has many giftable items if you have a birthday or holiday coming up or need some walls to fill. If I had more time, I would have stayed and participated in the self-paced $10 watercolor painting project that was setup in the middle of the hall. Heck, I could be here all day!

So take your time, sip your wine or whatever, and then go for a walk. There are violet lights probably UV along the path to help you walk. The paths are CA6 gravel, and are fairly smooth. There was a high path and a low path - We needed steps, so we took both. There are bathrooms strategically placed so if you have to go while way out there, it isn't a problem. Look to the right of the toilet and push the foot pedal to flush. The bathrooms were clean. Two sections featured music, and as we were walking out there was a live jazz band playing. Don't forget to tip the band! We took around an hour. The path out is well marked and easy to follow. We were able to get back to the parking lot and found our car in the well-lit parking lot easily. This is good for kids and adults. Give it a go!

The Dimension section was somewhat okay, but overall, for the price, the whole thing felt like a complete rip-off. I would not recommend it to anyone. I honestly don't understand why some people in my circle thought it was okay. Maybe people are just saying it was good to keep up with the hype and trend.
