    1 week old twist
    Terianna H.

Style: Bomb Twist (Synthetic) I'm writing this review after having the twist for 3 months! It took 5.5 hours to twist hair. The hair so light and easy to wash. The hair dries very quickly and I sat under a dryer to completely dry my real hair. After washing hair I used curling creams and styling gel on my edges.

    Text confirming the color.

Not impressed! Unprofessional, unprepared and rude. I wish I would have took the negative reviews more seriously. Almost every negative review is about the salon not having the correct hair. I made an appointment for my daughter's hair to be braided. When making the appointment, I asked how much hair I needed to buy and was told that the salon provides the hair. I went back and forth on cvia text and we settled on a purple ombré color. At the appointment, they didn't have the hair. The stylist started pulling out half packs and small bundles of hair leftover from other customers and told my daughter they could do streaks of tan in her braids. Only streaks because they didn't have enough for her whole head. When I inquired about why they didn't have the color we agree upon, I was told that they were just informing me of the color that was available at the hair supply store. They text message clearly states that they will provide the hair and that color is offered at the salon. Apparently, the receptionist (in training) made a mistake and sent that message. The stylist I spoke with, I assume Ugo, was rude; turned her back to me, sighed loudly and offered no resolution. She just said, "well we don't have the hair, so what do you want to do." I made this appointment almost 2 months in advance and selected the hair color almost a month in advance. This was plenty of time to order/purchase the hair. Don't say that hair is included, give customers an option of color, and then present scraps of used packs when they arrive. You are capitalizing on the fact that customers don't have a choice but to accept whatever hair you offer because you know we won't be able to find another salon for a same day appointment. None of the stylists wear masks even though almost every customer was wearing a mask. Lastly, you have a 0930 appointment the stylists should be there at 0930. Not walking in at 0945. There were multiple people waiting for their stylist to arrive.

This was my first time getting crochet and I was very pleased. I told Ugo that I did not want Big hair and she made the style as I requested. She did an excellent job and I will return when I want crochet or braids. Her prices are also reasonable for this area.

My experience here has always been great. I have never had an issue with scheduling my appointment, and all of my questions leading up to the appointment have been answered quickly. In the past, Ugo has always been my stylist, and I have loved my braids and received numerous compliments. However, today Ugo was styling someone else, and Ugonna did my crochets. She did an amazing job, and I am once again loving my braids.

Edit to add that she does not respond to all of her call and or texts.

I made an appointment as instructed by first contacting her through text and then creating the appointment on styleseat. She informed me that she had availability and so I proceeded to schedule the appointment. I asked her a series of follow up questions that she never answered but assumed since I made the appointment it was still a go. Well the day of the appointment she was not there. She did not respond to text or phone calls. I called and called but to no avail I never received a response. I was highly disappointed because I had an event to go to and could not schedule an appointment with another stylist. I was highly upset and I vowed that I would never schedule another appointment with her ever again. Lack of communication is unacceptable especially for people who have strict schedules and make appointments accordingly.

I looooovvveeee my Bomb Twists. Ugo is the stylist to go to for your braiding needs.

    Mid back length Goddess Locs
    N T.

I had my Goddess Locs done by UGO. The salon studio was welcome and she was all smiles. She chatted with me via Facebook before booking the appt which I did online. My appt started at 2p and I left at 1030p. I did get mid back length and goddess locs are terribly time consuming considering braid first then wrapping the braid. I was super satisfied with my locs and got plenty of compliments! I enjoyed my time with her as we watched Nigerian movies to help the time lol. I will def recommend her, her work, her skills.

I can't say enough, I love love my hair. They did a wonderful job, and they are so knowledgeable about natural hair and how to take care of it. I don't usually do reviews, but they deserve one. I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair, but I was extremely happy with the end results. They are very versatile on the different types of braids and natural hair styles. They did not pull on my scalp and they gave me what I asked for. I will be returning again and again!

Ugo! I'm loving this hair and look You've truly got an amazing gift! Way to go girl See you in a few weeks.

Parts are neat but they're disorganized, and only certain services get appointments. I don't think they actually do cornrows anymore.

Nonrefundable deposit, even if you cancel before 24 hours. Not a good practice in my opinion.

I'll start by saying I NEVER write bad reviews.. I think this will be my second one ever, but I…read morefeel it needs to be said. I have waited a week to write this hoping it was just my hair in "shock" or maybe the way I was parting it but no, I have a horrible hair cut. Here is my experience. I went in on a Monday afternoon just to see if on the off chance they were taking walk in's...they weren't. The man at the reception counter was a little snooty and put out when he told me he was alone and had an appointment coming in but booked an appointment for me the following day with another stylist. I returned 15 minutes before my appointment time filled out the card and was taken right away. The stylist was super nice and I will not call her out here because of that. However, I went in looking to have my bangs fixed as they looked like a 2 year old cut them, they were long and falling into my eyes, heavy and a little crooked. I also wanted some face framing fringe and maybe some long layers. She listened and asked all the right questions. She checked in with me a few times but it was too late the damage was already done as she cut my bangs first. They were SHORT way shorter than we had discussed, but they were wet. Then came the blow dry. She knew they were too short as she dried them straight and flat to my forehead. I asked for them to lay right at my eyebrows but no amount of flattening would get them there. They looked awful, but there is no fixing too short bangs. I should have said something but..well I was already starting to get upset and didn't want to cry. I did ask if she could fluff them up a bit and she admitted she purposely dried them flat. I felt the other stylists looking and judging, but that was most likely my own paranoia. I did give her a good tip because she was so nice and I just wanted out of there. Over this past week I have discovered that not only are my bangs a full 1/2 inch shorter than we discussed, but they are crooked and lopsided as well. The face framing fringe is non existent as it is just 2 "layers" one 3 inches shorter than the other. There is nothing anyone can do to fix this. I could have done better cutting my own hair with a Brad Mondo YouTube video. Now I am wearing hats or wearing clips to clip my bangs up and wearing ponytails. Think 1980's front bump-it style only flat and with WAY more hairspray. I know it is only hair and it will grow but I am a woman of a certain age and 1. should not have "baby bangs" and 2.my hair has never grown fast and now it grows even slower. The shop was cute and clean. I can't say the people were nice as I only interacted with my stylist long enough to form an opinion. And she was SUPER nice...just possibly not on her best game. I hate leaving bad reviews but I can't look in the mirror at this monstrosity that is my hair without wanting to cry. This is the only time I have left a salon looking worse than I did going in.

I've been testing out new salons since moving here with the hope of finding one I really like that…read morealso doesn't break the bank, and had high hopes for this one based on the reviews. I only ever do simple cuts, nothing fancy. My haircut, done by Anderson (a level 3 stylist), is objectively good. The skill was there. But it's definitely shorter than I wanted it. Went in for a lob, came out with an asymmetrical bob...Honestly I was panicking while he was drying it because it was starting to look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. I asked if he could style it like in the reference pictures I showed (simple waves, to reduce Farquaad-ness). He tried to do it with the brush/dryer, which obviously wasn't working, and didn't want to use a flatiron. So I just suffered through scalding heat on my scalp and hair pulling. I got told I don't have curly hair. I got told I don't have frizzy hair. I, in fact, have both of those. Some other minor things: 1. When I got home I had some hair that was noticeably longer than the rest, like it never got cut. So...I had to do it. Just a few strands, but normally stylists check for that when your hair is dry. 2. I almost never use heat on my hair, so I asked for recs and mentioned a specific brand doesn't work for me. He immediately said he loves that brand. I said yeah...but it doesn't work for me. Anything else? "Any salon brand." Cool. Not helpful. 3. Asked for something at the end to tame the pieces that were sticking out (again, I have frizzy hair). He looked...confused? Smoothing as a last step has been standard at every other place I've been to. There is nothing in the whole salon like that? Also, my introvert-self just wants to go somewhere where I don't have to be engaged in conversation the whole time. Anyway. Won't go back, my hunt continues.
