That's a long time to sit in the lobby. I wish they would get better and scheduling appointments more realistically. The doctor has been around for a long time and is good at what he does. He is always friendly but can be hurried at times. He is knowledgeable and says it how it is, which is appreciated. He tries to find alternatives that might work before surgery. The office staff is friendly but hurried as well. Seems like it is just always incredibly busy there. Lobby wait times can be reduced by scheduling your appointment with one of the physicians assistants. They're equally knowledgeable, just as hurried but are worth seeing. Also, scheduling appointments can be way out, but again, scheduling an appointment with the PA will probably get you in quicker.

We found the sleep disorder unit on the 2nd floor easily. Check in was easy breezy as I did the required registration process online prior. Waited roughly 10 min before being called back. Nurse asked a bunch of questions and then Dr. Staheli came in. He also asked a bunch of questions before agreeing to do the sleep study. After speaking with the doc he walked us to Ms. Jackie. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but she was rude and seemed bothered by doing a job and made us walk back up front to reception to get our insurance card scanned. The sweet gals told me they were so sorry that she made us walk back to the front and what an inconvenience when it could have been handled by Ms. Jackie. They scanned my card. Sent me back to Ms. Jackie, and then Ms. Jackie has the nerve to ask me to pull out my insurance card to verify the info! What?! After verifying the info matched she rudely told me a few dates that we could do the sleep study. I chose a date. She then told me I had to be back on a specific date fir the follow up with results. When I asked if my child needed to be present she said yes very rudely. I said well that date was her first day of school and I wouldn't let her miss it. She gave me the next date and said if you don't take this date you won't get your results for another 2 months after. Uh, ok, then give me the next date, she wrote it in a business card handed it to me and said expect a phone call from the sleep clinic a day before and don't be late. Again, I don't recall seeing anybody there who was over the age of 24. At a medical facility. They then were unable to admit that they charged the wrong place so we had to pay for the wrong test because, again, they messed up. Stay away from here. If a doctor recommends you here, say no. You're better off poking yourself with a knife. Did I mention that the 22-year-old-girlypop-would-be-phlebotomist poked my wife with the needle 8 times because she wouldn't believe my wife when she said her veins were too small for a regular IV? My son recently went to another chiropractor when Gurney wasn't available and was immediately bombarded with "necessary" x-rays and a long-term treatment plan for a supposed spinal defect. The bill that came and was submitted to insurance (thank goodness we're insured) for two visits was over $500.00! A typical patient portion for us with Aspen is $40.00 to $60.00 The worst I've ever been has been after a bad sledding accident where we went over a small ramp and landed right on my tailbone. I literally had to crawl part way back to my car and could hardly move. Dr. Gurney was able to realign my spine and ribs and use deep heat treatments and almost immediately I felt better and I think even as bad as that was, it was about only 4 treatments. Just recently I had a little spill on the tennis court and had a nagging pain in my shoulder and back. I put off going to the chiropractor for 4 weeks until it got to the point where I could no longer sleep on my side or even remove a t-shirt without help. Two visits and a months worth of problems were gone. I always wonder what would have happened if I'd gone to a GP...cortizone shots? Physical therapy for weeks? I just wished I'd gone in sooner. If you have a nagging pain that you just can't seem to get over; back pain, stuck ankle or a tricky finger, or worse you should consider chiropractic and especially Dr. Gurney...he's gentle, honest, and very knowledgeable and won't take you for a ride or keep working on you if you need to go to a doctor. Now anyone who…read morereads my reviews know it's all about food but on occasion I'll call other businesses for either very good or very poor products and services. In the case of this review I was to say this is a great place for physical therapy. I had surgery in January and the physical therapy element of recovery was not a short one. Some people can take up to 1.5 years for full recovery with constant focus on the physical elements to strengthen and maintain muscles but even then there is no guarantee. It requires patience and perseverance during and post physical therapy. My therapy session last 3 month and by the end, I was in a position to be active again and although the road ahead required me to follow through with the exercises to regain what was lost. It's been 12 month since surgery and would consider myself at 90% partly due to apathy on my part to perform the necessary training. I enjoyed working with the staff specifically Miaja and Jordon at this location: professional, accommodating, knowledgeable and kind. I historically did not put much faith in PT, but after this experience can say my belief is these folks really can help make your way back to an improved outcome.
