I spent months developing a relationship with NP Owen, and have tried to clearly communicate concerns I have had with her tone, word choice and direction with my "care" for the last several weeks. My concerns have been met by bullying, canceling of appointments made and then today, a refusal to speak to me due to her inability to charge my insurance. I have no idea how she is unable to charge my insurance for a telemedicine appointment, since we have had these appointments previously where she was paid. I have experienced passive-aggressive blame-shifiting via her assistant's messages, a lack of accountability by NP Owen and a marked increase in my anxiety from attempting to communicate with her. I have have shared and tried to address all of these concerns with NP Owen through her messaging portal and have taken accountability for any ways I have contributed to our recent negative interactions, all to no avail. Over these last several months I have seen NP Owen, I have received exactly ONE natural medicine, and been pushed into taking many western medicines, from my vantage, NP Owen has no interest in addressing health concerns with natural medicines, and is more of a pharmaceutical drug-pusher than many regular M.D.s I have met. I feel that NP Owen is not a safe person to communicate your medical concerns with and I strongly recommend that you find another provider if open communication, empathetic care and an integrative and natural-medicine based approach to your health issues is your preference.

However when I went in for my initial consultation (after transferring all my records and filling out countless forms) I'm told oh they don't take it because it's Medicare. Are you kidding me? How are they going to stay in business? If they don't take all types of insurance ?Complete chaos and misinformation, now I have to find a whole new doctor. What a waste of two months waiting for my appointment.

To whom it may concern:…read more First of all, this is not something that I normally do. No one has put me up to this. What has transpired in meeting the people at Root and Branch, combined with their knowledge of Chinese herbs and skill at acupuncture, I am a walking testament, just shy of being a living miracle. From the state of poor health that I was in before I met them, to the awesome health I am enjoying now, I am compelled to say something! It is hard to express the immense talent of healing both Travis Cunningham and Travis Kern posess. They are not only remarkably caring people, but their knowledge and skill of acupuncture is amazing! I love to put humor in the equation, so I describe myself to them as "Pudding". "The proof is in the pudding". Five years ago, I could not even walk out to get the mail, due to the neuropathy my feet had succombed to due to Type 2 Diabetes. I could not get a good night sleep, due to the stinging pain and throbbing in my ankles and feet. Even my hands were were starting to feel the numbness. I am a keyboard player, and my future looked dark, and I was starting to suffer from despair and depression. Today, I am still playing piano, and now I am able to walk up to 2 miles a day! I am in such gratitude! I have a whole new lease on life. They won't tell you this, but I owe my life to them! So "Thank You" to both of you! This letter of testament, is the least that I can do. They honestly work miracles! If you have some kind of ailment, you owe it to yourself to check it out and give Root and Branch an opportunity to heal you! Sincerely, Charles Suniga of the music group, "Charles and The Angels".

I started receiving treatment from Travis K. during his clinic internship at OCOM years ago and am…read morethrilled he and his business partner opened this Multnomah Village clinic location. I've spent my life being told by doctors that my conditions like insomnia, fibromyalgia, and migraines could not be addressed in any meaningful way (other than taking debilitating prescription medication at the onset of a migraine), so I was looking for other options to manage my pain and sleep problems. Chinese medicine has proven to be the answer to my problems and has dramatically improved the quality of my life. Travis first started me on a round of Chinese herbs to address my life-long insomnia, to be taken in the morning. This seemed confusing to me - shouldn't I take sleep medication right before bed??- but the herbs are not a sedative; they just remind your body what it is supposed to do. I fell asleep within five minutes of laying down that first night, and thus began my journey into Chinese medicine. Since then, Travis has also gotten rid of the peripheral neuropathy in my legs (which my neurologist had previously claimed was permanent nerve damage), taught me to immediately get rid of migraines using acupressure (after 23 years of having to take 100 mg Imitrex ), and educated me on ways to mitigate my muscle pain through diet changes and heat application. Bottom line: if you are sick of being told there is no solution to your health issues and/or you don't want to have to take a pill every day for the rest of your life, definitely give this place a shot!
