They have improper billing practices. - sent NO INVOICE before charging two $115 transaction on our credit card. - only notified us one day before, still with NO INVOICE. Just an email saying they'll do it. - refused to work with my insurance even though i'm fully cover and was covered under other appointments I had with them. Stating they called them to figure it out but with no valid proof but word of mouth. It was really strange they didn't let me know ahead of time. The service date was in March and it's AUG they just let me know and charged my card that my insurance wasn't working for only this date of service. I could have just called my insurance myself to get it figured out but i didn't get a chance to do that. STILL no invoice. My insurance clearly stated I only owned $20 on my EOB (Explanation of Benefits) and when they got reprocessed then my EBO said I own nothing. Yet even thought I already paid my copay and my EOB confirmed that copay... I got charge $230 ($115 twice) with, like I said, NO INVOICE. Want to emphasize that. They stated they resubmitted my claims but only sent me screenshots without my name attached so i'm not sure if those were for my claims. They also sent me documentation of for claim forms but the date was literally the date I ask for the forms... which was also strange. Asked for a copy of the forms with the correct dates but was not given them. My insurance company called them and asked for the proof of their resubmission to make sure they were on time to confirm its my insurance was at fault but they have not wanted to try and help by just sending them. It's a pretty simple task. Even I reach out to try and have them just share the proof to the insurance but for some reason they won't and they won't reassured me or confirmed that they have or are willing to do so. Just because insurance(s) have protocols even if it's their fault doesn't mean you should just throw it onto the patient without letting them know. Let's say they are right and that the insurance didnt process correctly. Then their contract with my insurance would still cover it still if they just sent proof and they can just reprocess it as normal. It shouldn't be out of my pocket. I'm still working with them together get this figured out. If not, i'll probably be filing a complaint with the Oregon Medical Board. I think this practice is fine in terms of actually medicine but they need serious help and understand of what is right for billing, balance billing, insurance, patient reach out etc.

Wanted to share my POV for others in similar situations. Experiences at places like this will vary…read moreon circumstances, so I want to be honest about mine. Context: I went in as a white passing able-bodied femme in distress looking for medication support. I had been off my psych meds for about 2 weeks and was experiencing dangerous behaviors. While I was not actively suicidal, I was experiencing passive sucididal thoughts. I was not experiencing any hallucinations. I was there for a few hours, and was able to get some medication support to tide me over until my next psychiatry appointment. I was clearly in distress when I arrived due to nerves, security and front desk staff were patient and neutral, and were able to ask me questions calmly when it was clear I wasn't able to effectively communicate and needed extra guidance. Folks who took me back were calm and answered my questions when my personals were taken. I went on a day with very minimal wait time and was able to be seen quickly. I observed lovely compassionate care of other patients while I waited, staff asking patients questions were very affirming and explained to the patient why they asked specific questions. My nurse asked me the standard questions you'd expect and was patient. When I froze on answering a question she clarified that there was zero judgment. While I was waiting and while I was being seen multiple times care providers praised patients on coming in and reassured the patient. The social care worker and psychiatrsit I was seen by were lovely and helped break the ice. None of my items were missing or broken when I left.
