Asked them to repair my 2017 Pacifica. The part they changed had nothing to do with the fault code and didn't fix it. I ended up repairing it myself. It needed a new camshaft and rockers arms on one cylinder head. Runs great now. No fault codes. They refused to partially refund the repair they did nothing. Variable valve lift and variable valve timing (cam phaser) are completely unrelated mechanical systems. It never had a cam phase fault, but that's the part they replaced. Noticed oil leaking after having oil changed at Brakes Plus in Monument. Got It fixed and it did it again. Tried to charge me $180. Tried to up price me after giving me a lower price. Same person fixed it each time. Was told it was a plastic drain plus issue both times. Decided I was done with them. Talked to other mechanics around and they each said pretty much they screw with your vehicle so you have to come back in. My car has only been driven 1,000 miles since the last time they fixed it. Husband drove my car to work this week and suddenly my low oil light came on. YES, only 1000 miles later. No leaks, just no oil in it. My car is only 3 years old. I am literally pissed off. Scheduled an alignment appt, which they state takes about 1.5 hours. After an hour, I received a call that there was an issue & I walked back over to discuss. The car is on the rack & the manager said the front control arms & rear struts need replacement in order to get the alignment specs within tolerance. First, my Subaru has rear shocks (not struts) that I bought & installed myself, so it is uestionable they were bad. Second, my previous tires before replacement did not exhibit any unusual wear other than end of life 7 years later. I declined all parts replacements & told them to set the toe-in (all 4 wheels) & camber (front wheels only). This is a bait & switch tactic where an auto repair shop traps you into purchasing additional parts you probably do not need. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE. I brought two of our cars here on separate occasions for the simplest thing- an oil change. Both mysteriously started leaking a little oil afterwards. Upon picking up my cars, I was told how I should get about three of their services done, totaling $850 on one, and $1200 on the other. I declined, since these were things I didn't think were necessary at the time. Fast forward a couple of weeks later for the first car, a 2014 Corolla that had never missed maintenance nor ever given me issues, it was purchased as certified from the dealer and even had warranty on it. It was leaking oil, just a drop, but I couldn't figure out why. Ended up taking it to another place and after a quick check, they identified that the oil plug was loose and had a little damage to it and needed to be replaced. It was not a huge fix but was definitely not ok in any way and there's no reason for it to have been loose in the first place. In the second most recent issue, I had another car, a 2012 Mazda 6- same story, always well maintained with no issues. A few weeks later we noticed that there was an oil leak. After finding a trustworthy mechanic, I had them check the car, and you guessed it- the oil filter was so loose that the mechanic described it as being able to turn it loose with two fingers, certainly not secured as it should have been. The same story for the oil plug, it wasn't secured correctly, but luckily didn't have to be replaced. I don't know what the deal is, whether they have poor technicians, or it was some ploy to get us to go back for more work, but I'm steering clear from them, and you should too. read more

I brought it into Brakes Plus - first time ever there - they had it for a few hours and said "you have 50% of your pads left". Sent me home.. no charge. Moved here from NY 18 months ago and greatly appreciate their honesty here at Brakes Plus. In NY they would have put on new pads and suggested I needed Headlight Fluid Replacement too. read more

Went to a different shop and when they lifted the hood, the bracket that holds the battery in place had been removed to work on engine, but they didn't put it back on. DO NOT GO HERE. This is going to be a long review as I detail all that happened during my visits. I had new tires installed at a tire dealer, and I needed an alignment to go with that. I scheduled an appointment with this location of Brakes Plus at 11 AM the next day. I arrived at 11 AM, and then the car sat for 45 min with nothing happening. Typically, when you make an appointment, that means that you have a reserved time to have the maintenance performed. Since I had another appointment that afternoon, I couldn't wait. I made a new appointment for 10 AM the following morning. I arrived at 10 AM, and again the car sat with nothing happening. However, this time I had enough time to wait. Finally the car went into the garage for the alignment at 11 AM. I walked down the street to a restaurant for lunch. At 12 noon, I received a call that the car was ready, ahead of schedule. That was about the only good thing about the visit. I walked back, paid, picked up the car, and drove off. On the interstate, I noticed that the steering wheel was not centered when the car was going straight down the road. It was canted about 3 degrees to the right. To check, I centered the wheel and noticed the car going off to the left. When I finished my errands, I returned to Brakes Plus and told them what was wrong. They were able to get the car into the garage fairly quickly and fix the problem. I drove off. I checked the steering wheel on my way to my next appointment, and it was still off, about half the problem from before the second visit. So if the steering wheel was off by 3 deg the first time, now it was off by 1.5 deg. I was tired and did not want to fuss with this any more that day. I returned today to Brakes Plus and told them that the problem was still not resolved. They said that a Jeep just went on the alignment stand, which would take about 1.5 to 2.0 hours to align. They told me to call back around 1.5 hours to check on the status of the alignment stand so they could get me in. I called back at exactly 1.5 hours later, and now they said another vehicle was on the alignment stand and would not be down for another 1.5 hours. They said I could make an appointment for Monday. Considering I did all this well before a 13 hour road trip that starts on Monday, that doesn't fix the problem. So I will be making the long road trip with the steering wheel canted to the right side. I know there is no safety issue with this, but the annoyance factor will be high, for 13 hours. I should have listened to my instincts, but once again I thought this would be a simple task to do, and I continued working with this business. Don't make that mistake. read more

I am a 21 year old woman, and while they were nice enough, they quoted me $2,300 for all four new shocks and struts. I took the car to a japense car specialist and they told me the shocks and struts don't need to be replaced. I wonder if I had paid them would they have even replaced them? or just charged me and said they did the work. read more

They fit me in at the end of the day for a quick oil change and once over my truck. While my opening pitch to them may have indicated I am up to date on everything I knew they would try to sell me, they did not attempt to up sell me on anything major. (Most places try to always say you need an alignment, tie-rods, kahooter valve replacement, another diagnostic check etc...). They even gave me a ride over to Grocery store so I could multi-task. As I was checking out from grocery store they called indicating I was ready to go. Great staff, efficient and my truck is still running. Out the door for less than I would pay at dealership without making appointment weeks out! read more

Overall it's always a pretty decent experience at this location. The tech's are friendly, professional, and about as quick as you can be as far as servicing your vehicle goes. Keep in mind, like any business, or certainly any repair shop for that matter, they're going to try to upsell you. Just part of the process. Easy enough to politely decline, and if you ask they'll be honest - whether or not they recommend immediate attention on any issues that they 'find' or whether it's something that can wait or something that you could potentially do on your own. The prices here are competitive; maybe slightly higher than competitors, but I know I'm getting good, consistent service every time. I then left to do a couple errands at the Walmart across the street. An hour later, my car is still sitting where I left it. The first time I came in for an oil change, they were fast, accommodating, nice and most importantly honest. **They even fixed something that was visibly wrong with my undercarriage for no charge. The techs come out to you and go over the details and they invest their time trying to diagnose what issues you may have. They do more than Brakes. Which is excellent. I came here for an AC fix because the dealership was going to charge almost $400 for the same work. They charge $74.95 and they guarantee their work. I attempted to change my brake pads in my driveway and could not get a brake caliper piston to compress. I went to other auto service centers with the caliper and asked them if they could use their tools to help me get the caliper piston in. I even offered to pay them. They said we can't even look at it or help you. I went to Brakes Plus and they said sure, we will see what we can do. 5 mins later they came back with my issue fixed, and said no charge. Went in for a master cylinder replacement. I supplied the part - all they had to do was prime and install it. Shortly after I left my brake warning light came on. I went back and they told me my brake proportioning valve was broken and the part was damn near impossible to find. I hate to say it, but I'm left with the impression that they didn't do the job properly and broke the proportioning valve. Would've been nice if they refunded the cylinder job or offered me some sort of compensation. The manager just told me I was out of luck and shrugged his shoulders. I went in yesterday afternoon because my car was making a weird sound. I was told that my brakes were all worn out and that I had to change all 4 rotors and brakes cost to get everything fixed $950. Thought it was a bit high, asked them to put my tires back on so I could go home, the manager then told me that if I wanted a vehicle that was safe to drive he could now fix my car for $450. I walked out after feeling pressured to have work done there. I went to the Honda dealer in the Springs, had all 4 brakes changed for $500! I was told there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my rotors! I am sorry but this is completely unacceptable. I will never get any work done here and will tell all my friends to do the same. She called all over to get help and Eric at Brakes Plus assured her they could look at this particular issue ASAP and set up a time. She dropped it off. They took time to explain every step to her and even called her just a bit later to update. That's customer service. She isn't worried anymore and they treated her with so much respect. I cannot say enough great things about Brakes Plus Monument. Ladt Saturday i had a flat tire and was stuck at the gas station. I could not get the lugnuts off to change the tire. I proceeded to walk down to breaks plus and asked if there was anyone there that might be able to assist me. They quickly said yes, have a seat and we will get somebody to help you shortly. I waited only about 10 or 15 minutes when they came out and told me that 2 guys were going to head up to the gas station to help me with my tire. I walked backup to the gas station and met the 2 gentlemen they came and changed my tire in about 30 seconds. I brought my Jeep Renegade in for a brake inspection- was worried because of the noise the brakes were making. I had received so much conflicting information from all the places I took my Jeep as to the status and condition of my brake system! We have just had the worst experience I've had a mechanic at this location. We had the oil cooler housing replaced on our vehicle due to leaking. They replaced the part but the leaking continued. We went back in they been replaced it a second time. They supposedly put oil back in the vehicle. However we went and got an oil change two months later, way ahead of our normal oil change routine. When we got our oil change We were told to sign a paper not holding The company we went with liable because there was low to no oil in the truck at all. When I spoke to the store manager Kevin he informed me that all services were rendered complete on their part. Are you kidding me! You did not put oil back into my vehicle. If we had not taken it in to a different location the vehicles engine could have seized. He refused to do anything to resolve the issue. He told me that he "doesn't trust" the place I went to to get my oil change. Therefore despite the documentation I had He would not acknowledge that there was nothing wrong with what they did. He was extremely rude and condescending. I've never felt so frustrated talking to someone in the service field that was so unreasonable. I would suggest to everyone to find somewhere else to go if you're thinking about going here. This was not the first issue we've had with them. On my vehicle they were not able to figure out my brake issue. However they manage to charge me $200 for it. read more
