When there was a big loss in my family this fall, my sisters and I worked with Bill Cutler, Sr. to make the needed arrangements. He was patient, kind, sympathetic, and explained all of our options. The family chooses the details but they make sure it happens from prayer cards, to the program, catering, etc. We had our luncheon following the service there on the property so no one had to leave to drive somewhere else. A nice feature is that memorial services are broadcast livestream so family overseas were able to witness the service in real time. The link is live for 30 days. What I didn't know beforehand is that they offer grief support groups regularly with licensed professionals. It's a safe place to talk about your loved one and grief in an accepted place where other people get it.

Leah (I think that was her name) walked me through everything on the phone and was able to get us a meeting soon after our family member's passing. Robert was great to work with, guiding us through the entire process from writing an obit, putting together a video and ordering flowers. He even let us know about the national cemetery for veterans and spouses which offered free burials. Although we were pursuing cremation, we'd be able to secure a plot to have a final resting place for some of the ashes. We used their facility for our celebration of life service where we could bring in our own food. Danielle was present the entire time, helping to replenish the food line and provide cleanup. The existing space holds about 80 people but there is an expansion that is slated to open in the spring of 2025, allowing for a larger gathering space. Although a tough time for our family, we really appreciated the compassion and professionalism they showed.

We had a poor experience with Catholic Cemeteries of Omaha and wanted to warn others. We made…read morepayments for an upright marker for ourselves. In the contract we signed it said when payment was completed the marker would be placed. After the final payment we waited, and waited, and waited. Calls and emails were not returned or returned days later. Finally nine months after final payment our marker was placed. When we asked for possible compensation for the long delay we received an email from Deacon Steven Hill saying "From Catholic Cemeteries' perspective, our performance was as expected - there were no delays in the ordering nor in the installation of your monument". Catholic cemeteries threw the monument manufacturer under the bus to save face. Word to the wise: be careful in your dealings with Catholic Cemeteries.

When my mom passed last year, I was obviously a wreck emotionally. Thanks to Braman (in addition to my parents doing their own end-of-life plans in advance), the whole process was seamless and very easy for me to understand and make any remaining decisions. We worked with Leslie, and she laid out anything remaining that was needed from us - a burial outfit, pictures and songs for the memorial/tribute video, and a few other things. But most everything else was handled by Braman, which was so appreciated in that hard, emotional time. Braman even found a priest to be the service officiant, when all the clergy at my mom's church were sadly all on a retreat out of town. The officiant that Braman found was from a sister church (Fr. Swanton) and he was very warm and gave a great service for my Mom.
