Whoa...I never leave reviews right away, but I just hung up the phone with Marc and wanted to write one already as I was speaking with him (but I was furiously taking notes, documenting his suggestions). I called Marc Branco after I had an abusive relative try to evict me from the home I lived in for 17 years, which was left to me in the will from my dad. She was misappropriating funds and much worse. Marc was professional, cool, calm and collected. he was very assertive, and at the same time, kind (to me) and tough (although professional to the nth degree) with the relative who was misusing the money from the Trust for her own purposes. He was not only able to save our home from this relative, but she had tried to triple the rent on me. He was able to get it down to a reasonable number and also demanded that she send me the bank statements for 3 years at the end of every month, so we could have proof of her misusing the money. For 20 months now, I have faithfully paid the rent every month on time, and she has been forced to send us the bank accounts, so that we can now have ammunition in any future civil suit, would it come to that. He is the best attorney I have every worked with. I am an expert psychological witness, by the way, so I am very familiar with the courts. Thanks to him, my home is saved from this very vicious and narcissistic relative, and I can now use the bank statements in a civil suit to stop her from doing further damage. I've lived in San Francisco for 8 years now and never once did I ever imagine I'd be faced with a wrongful eviction issue from a greedy master tenant; and it is as insufferable as it sounds. I was improperly served a 3-day notice to quit and when you are dealing with an irrational master tenant and an incompetent attorney who represents them, it is a thousand times more frustrating and stressful then it needed to be. Luckily, the only way I maintained my sanity through it all was with the help of Lauren Jones. Similar to the average person, I have no knowledge of how tenancy law works and I wanted the entire thing to be over with before it even began. Despite opposing counsel's frustratingly obnoxious behavior and ability to demonstrate his obliviousness to tenancy law (or even the law in general), Lauren handled everything with professionalism and demonstrated her well-versed knowledge of tenancy law. Marc Branco is an exceptional resource for Renters in protection of their rights as tenants. Marc is that rare lawyer, who is accessible, genuinely cares about justice, quickly discerns what is essential, then finds the best solution. My roommate and I were served a 60-day notice to vacate our home. I talked to a few lawyers regarding this notice but Marc was the only one that gave me pro-active advice. The other lawyers I talked to said I should wait until I was served an Unlawful Detainer, then sue my landlord for unlawful eviction. I didn't want to move, I wanted to stay in my home. When I spoke to Marc he suggested sending my landlord a letter, and advised me that an Unlawful Detainer would stay on my record permanently even if I won. None of the other lawyers even mentioned this to me, as a long time renter I can't afford to have something like that on my record. Marc sent my landlord a letter advising him of my rights as a tenant and the consequences of violating those rights. After receiving this letter my landlord never said another word about me having to move. Since then my landlord decided to sell the property. One day I came home to find a business card from a Realtor, when I called he informed me that the property was going up for sale. The Realtor tried bullying my roommate and I to show the property with no notice, or verification from our landlord. Once again Marc sent both the Realtor and my landlord a letter stating my rights as a tenant while the property is being sold. Since the letter both Realtor and landlord started obeying the law. Horrible experience! I want to put minus ten stars to that place. The issue with my landlord could have been easily solved, but these people manipulated me to stay in a conflictual situation, so they keep charging me. They will charge you even if they write you a one sentence email or have a five-minute conversation, pretending to fifteen-minute work. Many times I was ignored for weeks. They didn't even bother to respond on my questions the same or the next day. I had to wait and wonder what's going on. In the beginning Marc Branco reassured me that he will handle my case and that I would be in compensatory. They kept me in that stressful situation and in the fear that without them I will lose my apartment for 7 additional months. So, they could get more money from me instead of helping me. They made up new issues and forced me to pay them more than sixteen thousand. I didn't expect to lose so a lot of money on a guaranteed case under any circumstances. When I asked to give me a reasonable explanation to review the strategy for my case, Marc Branco ended the contract with me without even finishing my case in a very rude disrespectful manner.
