I almost didn't visit this park because I had recently visited Trout Creek Conservation Park…read more They're less than five miles apart and run by the same county. How different can they be? I'm glad that I went to both because I ended up liking Morris Bridge Park more. The parking situation is really odd. As with Trout Creek it also costs $2 to park here. There are actually parking lots on both sides of Morris Bridge Road. The southern one holds more cars but the northern one has a restroom next to it. Both are connected via a wooden boardwalk that goes underneath Morris Bridge Road. The southern parking lot has a nature trail that goes into the woods. We only explored a small section of this but decided to come back later. The northern parking lot has a kayak launch and a small boardwalk for fishing or just relaxing and enjoying the sights. If you walk a little you can find a bridge that leads to the Morris Bridge Boardwalk. The boardwalk at Trout Creek was shorter and more of a "C" shape. What is great is that this boardwalk here is a big loop. The sign says that it's 0.3 miles, but it felt longer than that. So if you have limited mobility this would be a way to get pretty deep into the woods to enjoy nature. This park is obviously well cared for. There was even a ranger there washing things off when we were there. I'm very glad I decided to visit.

Everything is chained closed (snack bar, restrooms, etc.)??? Is this only used by the local teams on weekends? Sure gives a strange vibe. Have no clue. There also appears to be an exercise "circuit" & a bridge placed in a swampy desolate place, but when I went here for my Fitbit walk, I felt a creep factor. I walked around & felt it strange it had a few vehicles parked all alone, as if it were a forest preserve in the Midwest "Rest Stop" movies. Walkability Score for A Woman Alone: 0 I'll rate it average because it's a little league sports complex ? but I must ask why all this money was spent in the first place. I am sure Street Lights would be much preferred, but then that's just me. 19/100

The restrooms are maintained very clean and if your ball player happens to be on one of the remote Diamonds (1 or 2), there are even some Port O' Johns at convenient locations near the parking spots. I was also impressed by the fact that each ball field, both the Home and Visitors sides have Covered bleacher seating for fans and rooting family members to enjoy. There are also covered picnic tables interspersed near each field for refueling between those "Double Headers" and for the younger ones to play or enjoy their favorite mobile device while big brother or sister plays their ball games.

This is definitely more of a community than a gym…read more I signed up for a membership at the JCC North and we get four free passes a month to go to this JCC. I really wish it was closer, because I looked at the schedule of exercise classes and wow there are a lot. They are at all hours and all different types. It's phenomenal. The day I went there was some sort of coffee happy hour happening with coffee and food. It really looks like they're trying to build a community here, which is great. The woman working the front desk was so friendly. They have locker rooms that have keypads on the locks, which made them really easy to use. The towels are great and they have blow dryers, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, the standard stuff. At 5:30 p.m. on a Monday it wasn't crowded at all. The gym is on the smaller side, it wraps around the indoor track/basketball court, but for the amount of people there it doesn't seem small at all. I walked on a treadmill and used the free weights. I passed by the cafe, which had a small but mighty looking menu. I would definitely stop by and grab a bite here. I've also attended a gala and a conference here before and I found them both well done. There's tons of parking, with a guard (only one entrance off of Howard).

Every day…read moremembers of this community center sit on the workout machines and conduct private conversations with other members or waste time on their mobile devices not working out on the machines while sitting on the machines or benches, preventing other members from being able to use the machines. Additionally, if you want to hear lots of private conversations via mobile phone, you will have the opportunity to listen to rude members of this community center talk on their phones in the gym. Even though there are signs everywhere, asking members not to conduct private phone conversations on their mobile device. It is very frustrating that I pay for a membership when I cannot use the facilities due to rude people sitting on workout machines or benches while they surf the Internet on their phones or have phone conversations while not using the machines they are sitting on, preventing other members from being able to use the weightlifting machines. Additionally, the staff of the community center does nothing to prevent this from happening.
